Peace on Earth and good will toward Jack’o’lanterns!

Big news! I can now use colors in my emails thanks to my switching to gmail. Other than that, it’s been a quiet week. Not really, I’m only kidding :D. Anshar has resigned as Consul and Runofi is our new PCON! I am also taking over as Quaestor of Cestus and applications for AED are open (expect a clanwide email this afternoon). Before I get things started and give y’all your weekly competition news, this is a special message from Runofi.

"Hey, Cestians, it's Ronovi. Just wanted to say a huge thank you to you guys for making my time as Quaestor of your house really exciting and a hell of a lot of fun. I've just been appointed Proconsul, and I believe I've left Cestus in some very good hands. Ji has done some amazing work for the house, and I expect to reward him for it once I get some okays for it. I'm sure he will only strengthen Cestus fictionally as well as activity-wise, so be sure to give it your all for him.

I'm really going to miss being a part of Cestus, but obviously I'll still be around and I'll be working with you guys either way. I'm glad to have helped reform the house fiction before I was thrown into this position, and I'm very excited (and a bit nervous, obligatorily, I suppose) to be working with Oberst on a clan summit level. We are working intensely on the next part of the clan fiction, and I hope you guys will all enjoy it. It's going to be the biggest part of "Broken," and yes - it will include a run-on. So I want to see you all participate and game and write in that as well as the currently running skirmishes. Thanks again for such a great time - I have thoroughly enjoyed being your Quaestor and I do not regret one minute of working with you all. Long live Cestus, and long live Tarentum!"

You awake to a state of panic throughout the Tarentum houses. Grabbing your closest weapon, you race to the conference room where people are gathering. The holographic image of your Proconsul is plain to see. The news: Your Consul has been brutally murdered.

Your task is to write a horror/mystery story. Include how the Consul died, how you go about finding who killed him, and any sort of horror elements you come across along the way - whether you be stalked by the killer or end the whole story in a twist. Here's the catch - you must begin the story with this line:

"You have got to be kidding me!"

And you must end the story with this line:

"And then I ate him. On a sesame bun. With a side of onion rings."

The story must be at least half a page long.

Every month the most active journeyman within House Cestus will be awarded for his participation in Brotherhood activities.

For four weeks, your Quaestor will submit you to a weekly test regarding general Brotherhood knowledge. Once again, you will be working with analogies. One example would be as follows: "Anshar is to Consul as Oberst is to ____" Hopefully you would answer with "Proconsul" - though the analogies won't be that blatantly easy.

Like last time, weekly points will be awarded based on the correct answer given as well as a first come, first serve basis. The person who answers the fastest with a correct analogy will receive 4 points; the second 3 points; and the third 2 points. Anyone who at least participates on time but does not get the correct answer (or is not one of the top three fastest submitters) will gain 1 point. Keep in mind: THERE WILL BE NO RETRIES.

At the end of the four week period, the one with the most points will earn a Legion of the Scholar.

The Aedile in his gracious spirit has decided that he will be adding a trivia question to his report to the house that will be posted on the 4th Sunday of each month.

This trivia question can come from anywhere in the Star Wars universe and will be designed to test your knowledge and research abilities. You will have 1 month to answer these questions.

First person to successfully answer the question will be awarded a Legion of the Scholar.
