Welcome to the newest edition of the Combat Master's report. There's important information in here this week, especially for new ACC participants, so please read.
-ACC Basics is going to be getting a rewrite. The course content hadn't really been updated to reflect the new CSs when they first came out, and I'm finding that the course isn't getting people the information they need. Expect to see some changes in the next couple of weeks.
-In the vein of ACC SA courses, an ACC Advanced course is in the works. I haven't yet decided whether it'll be a normal course or an intensive similar to Oberst's Dark Sage of Writing (though I'm fairly sure at this point that you wouldn't get a special degree out of it). More to come as that develops.
-After examining the workload of the Trainers over the past few months, I've decided to make some changes in the structure of the ACC Staff. With the resignation of two of our Trainers (thanks Tyren and Impetus for your work in the ACC), combined with the fact that some Clan Trainers were going weeks or months without getting a challenge, we're going back to the system of having Trainers for the entire DB. Trainers will still handle training matches, and Operators, the DCM and myself will still handle qualification matches.
-A reminder for everyone looking to participate in the ACC, both in the upcoming RoS and in everyday activity: If you haven't been active in a while, please check your rank. If your rank is Tertiarus, please contact myself and Tsainetomo to get it restored to your previous rank. The Tertiarus rank is meant for people who are inactive but don't want to lose their record, so if you're active, we need to mark you as such.
At the moment, the ACC itself isn't hosting competitions beyond regular activity. CNS and Taldryan both have ongoing competitions. Remember, everyone, that you can get Clusters of Fire for participation in ACC Quick Skirmish matches whether there's a competition or not. The matches are 2+2 and have a post limit of 72 hours, so they're a nice option if you want to ACC but don't want to commit weeks on end to a battle. Quick Skirmish matches are challenged in the same way as any other match, so find an interested opponent and get started!
That's all for this week. Thanks for reading, and see you in the next report.
