Hey there, Tarentum. There's a lot to cover in this report in terms of information, so read on and bear with the overload of text. Don't worry - you'll live.
Darth Sarin was made the newest Deputy Grand Master after Jedgar Paladin stepped down due to real life issues. I for one am a bit surprised because Sarin was Grand Master and I figured he could use a bit longer of a break. But I guess he couldn't stay away for long, so everyone please congratulate him if you see him. This is kind of old news, but hey, I do biweekly reports - what can you do?
In much more recent news, Grand Master Muz has put out a report detailing a lot of updated and future projects. For one thing, the Fiction and Gaming Tribunes no longer exist. There are now the Voice of the Brotherhood and the Fist of the Brotherhood (which really, really sounds like a position that Oberst has been dying to see for years). They'll be the overseers of all gaming and fiction in the Brotherhood...so, in a way, they're pretty much Fiction Tribune and Gaming Tribune under different names. ...Huh.
Also, the Brotherhood is currently working on a project known as the "Grind Path." Due to the numbers of active members dissipating because there's nothing really exciting happening in the Star Wars franchise, the Dark Council is really trying to find a way to get new recruits active, so the Grind Path will lead newcomers through an automated system up until either their promotion to Protector or their promotion to Guardian. Which also means that if people want to, they could become Guardian in a day. That is intense shit, because it personally took me six months to get to Guardian myself. Of course, back then there were no promotion requirements and you had to rely on your leaders to make the right judgment on your Journeyman progress, but I better stop before I go on a "Back in my day" tangent.
Finally, it's looking like we potty mouths are going to have to tone down a bit in IRC if we want newer members to stay. I do get the point Muz is trying to make, though, because we can be particularly crude. So this would be a good time to consider what you say on IRC, and how it can affect newer members who may not be used to the weekly fisting that occurs in the #tarentum channel. But if you guys want to read up on the rest of the GM report (and trust me, there's a lot of information that you guys should read up on), check the news section of the main DJB website.
Also, four battle teams have been created to accommodate active members' desires in the club. Kaerner has fiction team Reckoners and gaming team Spectre, while Reinthaler has fiction team Black Phoenix and gaming team Zurhidon. Battle team leaders have been making the effort to get members into the teams, but there has been some confusion in terms of how members get put into said teams - for one thing, you are not being asked if you WANT to be in a team if you are active. You are EXPECTED to be in a team if you are active, and you WILL be in a team. The point of your BTLs' e-mails is to make sure you're put in either the gaming BT or the fiction BT, in order for you to focus on what you love. Of course, this DOES NOT MEAN that if you are in the gaming team, you can't write, and vice versa. It's just that whichever team you're in will determine which craft you want to focus on the most.
The purpose of the battle teams is fairly simple - we get active members into the teams, which subsequently grow as more members, new and old, join them. The teams will then promote activity fiction-wise and gaming-wise, providing multiple opportunities to write and game and subsequently be rewarded for both. The Rollmaster of Gaming and the Rollmaster of Fiction will be overseeing all clan fiction and gaming activity, and therefore they will be working extensively with all four battle teams. Once battle teams have been filled to their capacity, however, that does not mean new battle teams cannot be formed. If there are enough people interested without compromising the size of another team, they may form their own team with the approval of their house summit and clan summit.
Of course, our project is not over yet. Subforums for Kaerner and Reinthaler are needed in the Tarentum forums on the DB message boards, but we'll need to be patient since Orv seems to be busy and Muz and Sarin have many things on their plates. Raiju, our Rollmaster of Fiction, has been working diligently on Tarentum wiki articles and Gladius's final fiction - I expect to see results by the end of this week. Likewise, the former Tridens summit should be working on their final fiction for their house, and new house summits should be working on their new house articles. If you guys haven't been working on them...well, then your BTLs are one step ahead of you because they're creating articles for their teams. So hop to it!

Next week for me is spring break, which means that for at least a few days, I will be traveling. I plan to travel to Wales and/or Scotland later in the week, so once I have solid dates, I will be e-mailing you all accordingly. In the meantime, by the end of the week, if I do not see wiki articles added or updated, I will be e-mailing those leaders who have yet to finish the task. The sooner these articles are added and/or updated, the better, and the less confused members we'll have asking questions.
