Consul Report

Noticed there wasn't a chapter up in this report? There's a reason for it. Your new Rollmaster of Fiction, Dralin Fortea, will be releasing Chapter Three a day or so late in a separate report, depending on when Quaestor Saitou of Reinthaler is done with his segment of the chapter. But here's the reason why.

Starting 5 PM GMT (Ireland), I will not have internet access for over twenty-four hours. This is because I have a flight scheduled tomorrow at noon, and since I'll be heading downtown with some friends this evening, there's really no point in my traveling back to campus and spending more money in the long run. So instead, I'm going to spend the night at the airport. My flight to Boston takes off tomorrow at 12:30 PM GMT (hopefully, considering we've had some volcanic ash issues for over a month now), and I will then be taking a flight to SFO at 6:04 PM EST and arriving in California at 9:48 PST.

That being said, I have declared an official leave of absence from Saturday, May 15th; to Monday, May 24th. I know, I know, nine days. Seems like a long time, right? Well, it's the end of my semester and I'm going to be zipping through time zones like a madwoman, and I'll need time to recuperate and adjust to the States again. I will also be doing a bit of traveling to see my college friends and perform with my band. Now, this doesn't necessarily mean that I won't be checking my e-mail every once in a while; I will have internet access. However, during those nine days the DB won't quite be a priority for me; my family and friends will be. So consider this a semi-LoA above all else, since I won't be logging on IRC and I won't be spending a huge amount of time on the internet until Monday evening (May 24th) or later.

That being said, let's move on to clan stuff. 'Cause clan stuff is AWESOME!

Tomorrow (May 15th) is the last day to submit applications for BTL of Black Phoenix. We still need a strong commander for Reinthaler's fiction-oriented battle team, and we have gotten qualified applications, but very few in quantity. If you are interested in running a very strong, fictionally developed team, then this is your chance. The wiki page for Black Phoenix can be found here if you'd like to read up on it:

http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/wiki/index.php?title=Black_Phoenix

The requisites for BTL will be as follows: - Rank of PRT or higher - E-mail turnaround time of 24-72 hours maximum - List all prior leadership experience (not required, but preferred) - Write at least one paragraph detailing your contributions to the clan and why they would help Black Phoenix. - Write at least one paragraph detailing specific ideas for the battle team in terms of competitions, development, and interaction with the rest of Reinthaler (including Zurhidon) and your RM:F

Submit all applications to me, Ji, Saitou, and Severon: at [Log in to view e-mail addresses], [Log in to view e-mail addresses], [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and [Log in to view e-mail addresses], respectively.

If you guys have not seen it yet, we now have a Tarentum Library on the Tarentum message boards. If you've ever written a poem or fictional piece that has won a crescent or a nova, and you want to present it, the Library is the place to do so. This will be the official archives of the best of Tarentum fiction, but before clicking on the link below, there's something you should be made aware of.

Due to some Tarentum fiction having potentially mature content, Muz has built the subforum so that it is password-coded. If you'd like the password to the Library subforum, please e-mail me, Ji, or your house leaders for it. DO NOT share this password with anyone or post it in an e-mail thread, as Google archives all information. This is mainly to avoid angry parents' bickering and headaches all around.

If you already have the password, here's the URL to the library. Please read up on the pinned topic before posting your work:

And now, it's time for Tidbits.

Master at Arms Korras has wrapped up Praetor applications. I hope you guys were able to submit your apps on time. No news on who's been selected, but I guess we'll find out soon enough.

Ji released his first official Proconsul report a few days back. If you have not read it, do so! It has competition and activity details, so if there's anything you did that was not documented, you can contact us and let us know.

Members, check the "Stuff that Matters to Me" section of the Competitions page on the main DB website if you wish to see the competitions that your BTLs or house leaders are releasing. If you have any suggestions for competitions, e-mail them to me, Ji, your house summit, and/or your BTLs, depending on what level you'd like to see the comp run on.*

**NOTE ON THIS:* There is a proposal being discussed that may somewhat change how we run competitions in the Brotherhood. Keep your eyes open for updates on that.

And that concludes this report's edition of Tidbits.

Unfortunately, no dose of Biweekly Awesomeness this time around, guys. Nothing was awesome enough to garner my attention these past two weeks. Maybe next time.

In this week's edition of "Ask the Consul"... no questions were asked. If anyone wants to send questions to me, e-mail them to me or hit me up on IRC.

And now for the long-awaited:

TL;DR

  • Chapter Three to be released a little late
  • Consul on semi-LoA
  • Black Phoenix BTL applications open until May 15th (TOMORROW)
  • Tarentum Library subforum: get the password from a clan or house leader, post your award-winning work
  • Tidbits: P:MAA applications closed; Ji's PCON report released; submit to competitions, as per usual; watch out for changes to how competitions are run throughout the next couple months
  • Biweekly Awesomeness: N/A
  • Ask the Consul: N/A

Fear my report being more of a short story and less of a novel! Until next Consul report, Tarenti, keep on rockin'.
