QUAESTOR REPORT 16. January, 2011

Hey guys!
First HOU report of the New Year! This will essentially be a recap of all of my little announcements, plus some new, interesting facts. Also expect a rant about the Patriots somewhere toward the end :).

House News - Most obvious piece of news: We have a brand, spanking new summit! I would like to thank everybody who applied. It really came down to Mitsuhide being the best able to run the house successfully if I'm run over by a truck, and the possibility of Krandon benefitting from the spot as much as the House.

• Run On is in full swing! Then I can add some revolutionary new piece of information to keep the story going. I couldn't be happier with how y'all are pushing it forward :)

• Expect REWARDS coming out of the RO! Not stupid crescents and merit awards, but Tribal Protectorates and maybe Land Grants will be handed out to those who participate the most.

• RESPOND TO THE AWOL CHECK IF YOU HAVE NOT DONE SO! I CANNOT STRESS HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS!

• A new Battleteam is in the works. It will come out of the fiction established in the run on and is to be led by Severon, a highly experienced battle team leader :).

• Odan-Urr is dominating the ACC Round Robin. Nearly 1/3 of the participants are Odanites! Woot! :)

Competitions Applicable to You-Doods / Doodettes

VOICE Dream Job; Due 31. January Everyone has some sort of ambition. Your character is given the opportunity to have any position within the Dark Brotherhood. It could be Grand Master, Master at Arms or even just Quaestor. Where do you want to go? What is your current goal? If given the opportunity, what would you do to it? These are just some of the questions you may answer over the course of your fiction.

In the Quest for Glory; Due 31. January Prestige now allows us to compare one another in some form or another. It is a show of worth. Writing at least one page of fiction (single-spaced; 12-point font) you are to describe how your character will go about to gain more Prestige. Do you have a strategy or some sort of plan? Is there an area you will be devoting more of your time to? Is there an goal in mind or someone you are trying to usurp? Prestigious Prestige; Due 31. January With the recent release of Prestige rankings, it is time to find out what it means to your character. How does this system affect them? What is Prestige to them? Why do they wish to gain more of it? Why not?

In at least one page, single-spaced in 12-point font you are to write about the Prestige system and how it applies to your character. You may ask yourself some of the questions above or focus on other aspects of the System http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/dbjedi/competition.php?id=5416

Load the Can(n)ons #5; Due 31. January Each month you will be given a Canon Character and you are to write an actual battle between yourself and this character.

Character of the Month: A Sith Lord battle this month. You will be facing off against Darth Vader himself, any time between Episode III and IV.

Minimum 2-pages in 12-point font on any Word Processor. You will be judged on your writing and realism, similar to an ACC battle, but with the battle being written by only one combatant. As such, the use of your Character Sheet is important.

This is an "out-of-continuity" story, so all that matters is that your character is interacting with these canon characters.

HOUSE [Odan-Urr] And then there was... philosophy?; Due 28. January In House Odan-Urr there currently exist four major groups: Classical Jedi, NJO-style Jedi, Gray Jedi, and Redeemed Jedi. Obviously philosophical and ethical disagreements abound.

In your entry write a philosophical discussion between these groups. It can be either a debate among the entire house in the library (or similar setting) or a private discussion between lone members.

Although this is a lone exercise it might be pertinent to email your fellows (I will start a chain going) to see which philosophy they ascribe to and ask whether or not you can use their characters in your writing.

For the record I haven't received a single submission for the Philosophy comp. These are easy crescents so go go go!!! :)
