So, what happened in July? House Revan got a new set of templates like the rest of the houses (they went with Red) thanks to JSRB . Shadow expressed hatred for all the different types of battle templates, so now we have a shiny new all-encompassing one. I tweaked and documented all the colours we use in infobox templates for no really compelling reason, but now it's organized in a table and everything. The "this is a featured article" box has been replaced with a nice happy little silver star that sits at the top of an article (I agree...the big ugly old box was no proper reward for our favourite articles).
Archangel brought up the old "Project Realism" category. Some articles can be removed, some will end up just being tagged with { {Noncanon}} with other articles to be sent to loving homes where they will be nurtured back to health. Or something like that anyway. I'm working with the VOICE secret Vodo <3 on this right now, so it should be solved before the next wiki report.
The MAA office conducted an AWOL check, and when the dust is all settled from that I would like to make sure the unit categories (for example, the Disciples of Sadow category) are up to date with only characters that actually belong there. Eventually, we could work towards a point where we can look at all the articles of rogue characters and maybe get rid of ones unlikely to be used ever again. Obviously we should keep the full character articles, and characters that get used in the storylines...but the wiki can probably safely forget about a member who filled out his or her infobox and nothing else before quitting a week later. Plus, if I make a mistake (happens way too often) pages can always be undeleted without much fuss.
I didn't come up with a good competition idea. In fact, the only one I thought of was to have a competition where people submit ideas for wiki competitions, thus saving me the trouble. However, that might give the impression I'm lazy or something. I don't really want to do a scavenger hunt (first person to find the "floating SHB" and post about it in the comments gets kudos), since it's too easy to look at change logs (hint hint). For now, I'll just stick to giving out Dark Side Scrolls for the various something of the month features. Speaking of...

Featured Article of the Month for August 2011 - Old Folks Home
I would like to ask a favour. There isn't a whole lot of voting on featured articles going on, and I need to find a way to better promote this. One way you can help me is: if you are already on the nomination page to nominate an article, please go through and leave some comments on the other nominees. The queue is very short right now, so don't worry about competition with your favourite. By the same token, if you're really proud of your page, go ahead and nominate it.
Things got done, things are planned to be done, and monthly things continue being monthly.
