Good Day Everyone,

It is time for my first official report as Quaestor, and there’s a lot of important stuff to talk about. But, I promise that I will be very brief (though please also respond to the quick survey question in the report):

Aedile

First up today is the appointment of an Aedile for House Tarentum. I received five applications total, all from some eager people. I have to admit, this was more than I anticipated, but I am very pleased to have received this many applications, and this level of interest. This, of course, made the decision that much harder. Before I announce who I chose, let me say to those people who did apply, but did not get it: there is a very definite plan in place that led to this choice and one that I hope to follow through on. I had to choose whom I felt was best for that plan to work. I will be emailing all of you individually, or catching you on IRC.

So, without further rambling, I have selected Dranik to serve as my aedile. Yes, he’s kind of old guard-ish, in that he’s been around awhile. However, he only recently returned to activity. Dranik comes with leadership experience and the ability to step right in to the position, which is something we need. Perhaps most importantly, Dranik and I know each other in real life- we can talk on the phone (especially when I leave work late at night). And Dranik and I know each other well enough, have worked together in the DB and elsewhere enough that he can act and know full well what I would want done, or how I would react.

AWOL Check

In the very near future, you will receive an email from the Master at Arms, asking you to respond to the email for the AWOL check. There is a time limit. Please reply to that email! If you don’t, you will be AWOL’d and not be able to participate in house competitions, among other things.

Promotions and Awards

Congratulations to the following members for their accomplishments:

Egregious was promoted to Guardian! He also picked up 2 Crescents with Emerald Stars and 1 Crescent with Topaz Star

Tor’Fel Hazzan picked up 2 Crescents with Emerald Stars and 2 Crescents with Topaz Stars

Armus received 4 Clusters of Fire

Jason received a Crescent with Sapphire Star

Final Notes (Survey too)

Members of House Tarentum, the fate of this house is in your hands. I am optimistic by what I have seen, but I know we are on thin ice. We are trying to repair the damage that has been done over the past several months, but it means nothing without you. Please respond to the AWOL check when it comes around. Please participate in the Rite of Supremacy in the future- even bigger awards are there.

Also, I would like to point out that Dranik presented his fiction competition idea before he applied for Aedile (well, asked me if he could run one- I didn’t know the details). If you want to run any event, have any ideas, please contact myself and Dranik.
