Jusadih System Kapsina Carrack III-class Station âForce Pointâ 36 ABY
A lone, aging starfighter slipped into realspace in the Jusadih system. Despite it having been sometime, the Warlordâs old IFF still worked. It was enough, at least, to let the ship pass the systemâs perimeter defenses and not get harassed by demands for identification. As the single-person craft edged towards Kapsina, it found itself caught in a tractor beam and pulled towards the relatively new Carrack-class station.
"This is Force Point, hailing unidentified bomber,â A disciplined voice crackled over the speaker, âYour IFF is out of date. Identify yourself."
A chuckle was heard before a deep, gravelly voice responded, "This is Masiker. I'm coming home. I wish to speak with Tra'an Reith and Kal di Plagia Vorrac." The line clicked once, twice, a third time, before a familiar voice, albeit a little staticy and with delay, responded.
"It's been some time, Sith. The last I saw, you were helping those Light-blinded idiots on New Tython. Did you finally tire of their inability to measure up?" Vorrac sounded just like the Warlord remembered. It brought back memories of older days, when they had fought side by side under the banner of Clan Plagueis.
It also brought back memories of the two crossing blades during the dark times. The familiar clipped tones of the Last Son of Old Plagueis brought a feral grin to the Sith's face.
"A little bird told me you picked a fight with Sadow," Replied Masiker, "and I've always been a man of passions. I thought I'd come home to help shed some blood and rebuild the Clan on a Foundation of Power. After all, what's a little bloodshed between Sith?" The banter between them belied the change of direction in the tractor beam, as the ageing Y-Wing was pushed back out into space, only to be picked up by the tractor beam of the NSD Ascendancy as it rounded the curve of the planet.
"Welcome home Warlord. I've got plans that would fit you perfectly, and give you what you want. Now is the right time to come home to Plagueis." The transmission cut off as the Tractor beam finished pulling the fighter into the hangar and set it on the deck. As the hatch popped, Tra'an Reith stepped off the lift.
"Officer on Deck!" The entire deck snapped too as the Quaestor of Plagueis responded.
"As you were!" The activity resumed, even as the cerulean-trimmed Obelisk moved quickly across the bay. Masiker unfastened himself and hopped down to the deck, lithe and ready to move after being stuck in the cockpit for so long.
Coming to a stop in front of the ship, the Shi'ido took the time to admire the care and effort that had gone into keeping the piece of junk running for so long. "I have to say, I didn't expect to see one of these again after we left New Tython. A first Generation Y-Wing." Shaking his head, and then turning it and his attention to the former Lightie, the Prelate's eye raised in question.
"Welcome home. The universe, as you know, is a little different. Come with me, and let me show you what awaits us on the Horizon." Masiker nodded and grinned, following his new Leader away, the last vestiges of his time as a Jedi left behind to be salvaged for scrap.
-> ## To Start: The Feud <- As you know, we recently concluded a Feud against House Scholae Palatinae and Clan Naga Sadow.
What you should also know, is that we lost pretty handily.
We had a good amount of participation to open the Feud. Week two saw a massive drop off, and we only had two entries in week three. TWO. My thanks to Solus Gar and Kuro Kogarasu, for being those entries, and taking the category in which they entered.
Solus also deserves mention because he was the driving architect of our Wiki Win as well.
I understand that this was a busy time for many of you, but to not even get out a single entry for Poetry? To not do a single gaming match, or toss together a minimum length fiction?
If you want to Re-Clan, it's going to take a LOT more than that.
Week One: First Place Finish in Fiction, Second and Third in Graphics.
Week Two:First Place Graphics.
Week Three: First and Second in Graphics.
Wiki: First!
Run On: Last.
I know this seems great, but in reality, it's not. Let me break it down for you.
In Week One, HSP put out 24 entries. HP put out 14. In Week Two, HSP put out 27 entries, HP put out 4. In Week Three, HSP put out 14 entries. As mentioned before, HP only put out TWO.
That being said, as a percentage of entries that were submitted, 30% placed in the top three.
We submitted far less than HSP and CNS, and yet we still managed to take almost a full third of the top three places for the entire feud.
We have quality folks. In order for quality to place though, we have to submit.
If Kuro had submitted to the other graphics events, could we have swept a graphics event?
If members had submitted to fiction in week two and three, could we have taken more places?
No entries equals no chances. A submission is a chance to win.
Thran's entries were always hilarious. Sometimes it paid off, other times, it wasn't quite there. He still did his best, and gave it his submission, and it made the difference. Had he not tried, he would have forfeited those first place finishes, without even knowing that he would have placed.
Participation matters. Don't ever let anyone tell you otherwise. Every entry is a chance to take a placing. While you should always concentrate on what you do best, don't hesitate to enter into other events with what you have left after your best, just because it's not perfect.
That said, Vendettas aren't just about placing. They're about our participation. If we work hard, and bust our asses, it shows other people, other units, and new members, that we're serious about doing our best. It's not whether or not we win that people will remember, it's that every member gave their best.
If you want to re-clan, to raise the name of Plagueis beside that of Arcona and Naga Sadow, we have to participate!
Competitions are supposed to be fun. Fun isn't always easy. Sometimes it comes in the reward of putting forth effort and knowing that what you've created is the best you can do, even if it doesn't place.
Also: that thing we call Prestige? Seals are awesome Prestige. If you want more, you should participate more, because you'll earn more Prestige.
-> ## Roll Master <-
We have had to say goodbye to Starrett as real life has claimed him once again.
We have the pleasure of appointing Kodais Solatus from Flight Leader Minor into the respected position of Roll Master, due to his work as Task Master. He's done great things with working with our new members, and we look forward to his continued work and talent in nurturing them into true Dark Jedi.
-> ## Stuff To Be Proud Of <-
Zuser Whuloc Made Jedi Hunter! Arden Kane Made Protector! Kuro, Slagar, Kal, and Nite Dawn earned Dark Crosses for their effort in the Feud!
-> ## On the Horizon and Beyond <-
Activity is key. If you don't feel that we're offering activity you want, ask for what you want!
Have Fun! If it isn't fun, ask us to help find a way to make it fun for you again!
The House Summit has worked with the GM and DGM to plan a series of surprises post-Horizons. I promise, it will change how you view yourself and help to refocus what it means to be a Dark Jedi.
-> ## TL:DR <-
We didn't do well in the Feud. We need to be better prepared for Horizons. Activity is Key. New RM Get Excited about Horizons
I really shouldn't have to do these. You really should read the Report. :P
