Whew! Talk about a pretty crazy vendetta, huh? Obviously, I don't have much to report, but this is about the time when I let you all know what's been going on and what's yet to come with the Academy. Let's do this!
With Horizons over, there are several run-ons that are available for reading. If you are interested in reading a run-on solely about the Shadow Academy, however, you can click here and enjoy. Obviously, the Shadow Academy wasn't exactly covered in the main fiction, so Solus and I took the liberty of depicting what could have possibly gone down in the survival zone as the plague ran rampant.
Slags and I got pretty ramped up after our run-on due to our awesome teammates, and we thought that it was about time for us to begin fully detailing the physical presence and development of the Academy. I know that there's already some information about how the Academy is built, but we will be taking a few creative measures to update, tweak, and make it fresh, secure, and technically sound. Come the next couple of months, you will have a tangible presentation of the Shadow Academy on the wiki pages.
In terms of exploring more advances in the Academy, we are always working to create more interactive course materials, especially with outside subsets of the Brotherhood like ToR and the ACC, so not all of our exams is just fact-spewing texts. In fact, our very own Sarin has suggested creating an interactive ToR exam to better assist members in their gaming. We hope to see some results sent our way from him in the near future.
We also intend to tackle the issue of addressing the needs of new members who do not have the type of encyclopedic knowledge that we seem to take for granted. Many initiates come in with a basic knowledge of the Star Wars universe, mostly that of the films and maybe the books. We have noticed that the General History Department, as a whole, is hyperfocused on a lot of ancient history predating the events of the Brotherhood itself. This does not particularly strike as resonant to some of our membership, many of them being more interested in developing their character rather than exploring history that is not exactly useful to their progress in the Brotherhood. As our goal is to provide useful and meaningful exams to improve each member's experience in the Academy and the Brotherhood, we want to shift the focus to more relevant and recent history and information in our exams.
Possibilities for this transition include trimming down the History of the Sith Empire courses to shorter content and creating new content that is more topical to adapting in the Brotherhood and better constructing characters. We may also revamp the courses entirely for a more introductive structure of exams to provide more of a crash course for the older history and expand on the information that could prove more constructive to our membership's needs and desires. This new structure will allow newcomers to better familiarize themselves with the slew of history and information that inundates them as soon as they walk through the door.
Given that the vendetta pretty much stole everyone's time and souls, we didn't exactly have a whole lot of graduates. But some degrees were still earned. Here are the students who obtained Mavens, Savants, or Sages since September 20th:
## Mavens
### Dark Maven in Combat
- Legorii Kryotek Entar (ARC)
- Muz Ashen (DC)
### Dark Maven in Flight
- Celevon Edraven (ARC)
- Nikola Valtiere (ARC)
- Shikyo Sasuke Keibatsu (DC)
## Savants
### Dark Savant in Leadership and Communication Teu Pepoi (CNS)
Last, but certainly not least, we have an announcement concerning the new Professor of Writing Studies. As some of you may remember, we ran applications for Professor after Xantros had to step down. We held off on announcing the new Professor until after Horizons, knowing that SA activity would be naturally low. But we have known who the new staff member is before Horizons even started.
Everyone please congratulate Akatsuki Tamalar on becoming the next Professor of Writing Studies.
TL;DR
You ever wonder what Darth Vader would have been like in college at a frat party with his bro Palpatine?
So beautiful.
Cheers,
Ronovi Tavisaen Dupar
Headmaster to the Shadow Academy
