Quaestor's Office Port Ol'val

"So i's decided. We must do something about Inahj." Socorra declared. The Battlelord had become increasingly more influential since his appointment to Gatewarden. Now, he appeared to have a number of allies on the Shadowport. No longer was it safe for the Qel-Droman Quaestor to observe her rival from close quarters. That was why she had summoned her apprentice and Aedile.

Scelestus nodded. "If we move too aggressively, he'll probably use whatever resources he has to bring us down." he replied.

The Krath Priestess smiled. "We won't need to...we may have lost Cethgus, but that gives us just the chance we need. Andrelious IS an ace pilot, after all..."

** 3 hours later Sleeping Quarters NSD Invicta**

Cethgus awoke with a jolt as his holo computer alerted him to an incoming call. Rubbing the sleep out of his eyes he got up and answered. On the line was Scelestus, telling the Exarch that he had been promoted to Galeres Aedile and was to leave immediately. The Iridonian thought about protesting, but he had been looking forward to a promotion for quite a while.

"What will happen to my squadron?" Cethgus asked. "Who will inherit my position as Commander?"

"As of now your successor will be Andrelious J. Inahj, now former Gatewarden of Shadow Gate. Snabbie will stay as his assistant and report directly to us" the Sith Warrior replied.

"I'll be on my way then" Cethgus acknowledged, before disconnecting. "May fortune be with the squadron..."

News As of now everyone probably knows that in less than a week the next large event is going to start. At the moment the only known info is that is going to be tied in with Horizons. More info will come soon.

Medals and Promotions A lot of Merit medals have been rolled out this week, I would like to congratulate those who received one again. I'll list the recommendations below.

Nikola Valtiere: Reward: Dark Cross

I am proud to be awarding Nikola with his first Merit Award. Since he joined 1 month ago he has been working hard on promotions by doing Shadow Academy Courses, and also participating in Horizons at the same time earning himself a Dark Maven in Flight. In the time between his joining he has finished the Dark Brotherhood basics, ACC basics, Capital Starship Studies, Starfighter Studies, Freighters/Transport Studies, Astronomy Studies (those last three earned him the Dark Maven), Arcona History, Training Saber Basics, GMRG History Wiki Basics and Sith Core. This level of activity has been an inspiration to the rest of the team, pushing them to work hard and compete in Horizons. Nikola has done a long list of courses which he has all finished with impressive scores all around for someone who just joined. It is extremely satisfying to see someone have a large amount of persistence, pushing himself to do better. But apart from doing SA, Nikola Valtiere has also participated in the Horizons Run-On, writing up well written posts to add to and advance the storyline. It is an honor to give him this Dark Cross, and I think he is more than deserving of this Merit Medal. I will be watching Nikola during his further career, and hope to see him climb the ranking ladder and seeing him participate.

I am honoured to be able to recommend a member of my team for their first Dark Cross. Well, where to start with Nikola? Since Snabbie has filled most of you in on his activity already I will take this chance to just put the main points across that I see. He has been a constant level of activity inside of the Shadow Academy, taking exams whenever he has a free moment. He has been a consecutive level of activity inside of Void Squadron, working to achieve the goals set forward for his next promotion, as well as showing that he is able to keep up the level of activity that Void Squadron has produced. For his efforts inside of the Shadow Academy and his activity in Horizon it is my pleasure to be able to award Nikola Valtiere with this Dark Cross.

Snabbie Reward: Anteian Cross It is my privilege as Battleteam Leader of Void Squadron to be able to recognize the dedication Snabbie has put into this team as Flight Leader. He still is able to surprise me each day with his level of enthusiasm and his willingness to get involved on everything that he can, often most people do not see the work that Snabbie puts in behind the scenes as Flight Leader, yet every day I can count on his ability to strive for perfection with any task I set him, or anything that needs doing regardless of how small that thing may be. For example, checking when everyone last got any kind of award and continue to track this effort, making it easy for myself to find which members have been deserving of medals, constantly checking on the wiki page to make sure that the team wiki page is up to date. As well as getting in touch with every member of the team to make sure that they are ok.

He even went so far as take the effort of writing up a track record of every members activity since their last promotion as well as last merit medal, the detail and effort put in to make this document efficent and easy to read has helped myself to monitor members of Void Squadrons activity levels. If that was simply not enough alone, he is running competitions for Void Squadron: Clearing out the Asteroids, Build with Blocks and Void Squadron Trivia.

As well as keeping a constant presence on IRC, interacting with the members of the team, and helping them where it is required. Taking the time from all of this he has also taken part in Horizon and participating in: Gaming (1v1), Run-on (The Rising of the Tide) and Trivia-Week 1, helping Arcona to achieve the level of activity that it did in this Vendetta. For all his time and effort he has put into the Battleteam, House and Clan, I believe that he has earned this medal. Thank you Snabbie.

Kalon Dane Reward: Dark Cross

Over the past few weeks Kalon has been active on IRC, conversing with me and other members and showing interest in new activities. At the same time as participating in Horizon, he has been willing to do several tasks in the house offering his services when required. He has been participating in Horizons too, posting in the Run-On and helping to further the storyline. I am honored to give Kalon Dane a Dark Cross for his activity over the past few weeks. I am proud of you Kalon.

Kratus Vahillus Reward: Anteian Cross

Kratus has been majorly active during the last 3 events. He participated in Horizons by doing Gaming, ACC, Fiction and the ID-scan, and got good results on those. Before Horizons he has done several competitions organized as part of Trials of Loyalty, doing Poetry and Graphics. And even before that, on Operation Rolling Thunder, he did a lot of writing, including Short fiction, RO and ACB. And now I have just named the last few of his recent activities. Kratus has been a driving force in Void Squadron, setting the height of where the bar of general activity is hung, giving a clear target for other members.

Continuing on, Kratus has been on IRC for most of the time, being there more often than not. He has also done some really helpful things, such as tracking down what competitions members participated in, and formatting that info clearly to be used. He also has been good company in the Hangout while doing these tasks, often lending a hand to help me and Cethgus monitor member activity levels, and prepare the data for using in the recommendations. Other than that, Kratus has done several games mostly though in the form of Halo Reach, in which he continues to interact with members from other clans and houses on a regular basis , earning him some Clusters of Fire along the way.

Overall Kratus has done really well, doing all kinds of things ranging from competitions of every kind, to helping the Summit out with some small tasks. I would like to thank Kratus for this awesome work, and great activity, and constant presence by awarding him with an Anteian Cross. Congratulations

Snabbie Flight Leader of Battleteam Void Squadron

I have the honour of recommending one of Arconans and Void Squadron's most active and productive members. He has been a constant beacon of activity for younger members and has a presence on IRC that is approachable. But enough about the simple stuff, He has participated in Horizons helping Arcona achieve a high level of activity overall in this event, as well as this he continued to game and participate in competitions inside of the House. Kratus is a hard working and respected member of Arcona, never asking for anything yet always willing to help as many people as possible. Snabbie has summed most of it up already. Thank you for your service to Arcona Kratus, it truly is appreciated.

Tirano Yamayura Reward: Anteian Cross

Tirano is one of the few people who is constantly flooding my inbox with CoF requests. Since his last Merit award on the 3rd of May 2011, he managed to acquire over 200 clusters by playing several games. Adding to that are several well earned crescents, nova's and awards awarded for getting high places in competitions and events like Horizons, Dozen of Games and FIST organized comps. These include a five Seals of Return, 219 Clusters of Fire, Four Seals of Decimation, two Crescents with Ruby Star, two Crescents with Sapphire Star, a Crescent with Emerald Star, a Crescent with Amethyst Star, a Crescent with Topaz Star, a Crescent with Quartz Star, a Cluster of Ice and a Silver Nova.

While we are talking about events, there is a large list of event related competitions that Tirano has participated in. To start with, he competed in three FIST organized comps, having to do with Gaming and Fiction: [FIST] Beat up the Fist; [FIST] Beat up the Fist's Magistrate: Dante; [FIST] Halo: Reach Firefight; [FIST] Curbstomp the Gamers 3; [FIST] Jedi Knight Ladder #6.

Continuing on, we have Horizons just behind us, and Tirano has done a good amount in that too. He sent in a Poetry entry, wrote several posts in the Run- on, and even played Left 4 Dead for one of the gaming related competitions: [Horizon] Poetry (The Force); [Horizon] Run-On (The Rising of the Tide); [Horizon] Gaming (L4D).

Ending with some other competitions that I think should be mentioned, Tirano has competed with several other DB members, including myself, to get high scores in the Dozen of Games Competition. He also participated in the Ad Infinitum event a while back for wich he played several games: Dozen of Games - Spring 2012; Dozen of Games Round 11; Dozen of Games - Final Round; [Operation Ad Infinitum] Gaming.

Tirano has been an inspiration to me and most members of Void Squadron, helping them achieve the maximum possible and upping the teams general performance. I am glad to be awarding Tirano this token of major activity and I hope to see the same kind of performance in future events.

I am honoured to be recommending Tirano for this Merit Medal. He is a hard working individual who always strives to try and participate in as many events as possible whenever they come out. He is constantly participating in gaming as well earning himself Novae in that during Horizons. He always tried to make sure he entered anything going, and gives it his best, Tirano inspires members around him. During his time in Void Squadron, I have had my inbox flooded with Clusters of Fire, as well as crescents, I believe that Tirano is deserving of this Anteian Cross for all of his hard work for Clan Arcona. Nadrin Erinos Arconae Reward: Dark Cross

Nadrin is one of the more experienced persons I know in the Brotherhood. When I need an answer to a difficult question or help with a small project such as thinking up new ideas for competitions and writing them up, he is there to assist, giving building criticism that help you along the road toward your goal. But not only is Nadrin a friendly and helpful person, he is also actively involved with the battleteam. He has earned several awards, Crescents and Nova's (Nine Seals of Decimation, two Silver Nova's, a Cluster of Ice, four Clusters of Fire and two Crescents with Sapphire Star) for participating in competitions and events, Horizons being one of those. Nadrin has been majorly active in Horizons, doing nine competitions, which include ID Scan-Week1, ID Scan-week 3, Trivia-Week 1, Trivia-Week 2, Trivia-Week 3, Run-On (The Rising of the Tide), ACC (Rebellion), Poetry (The Force) and Multimedia (Report). I am glad to be able to give Nadrin a Dark Cross for his large amount of activity and being very helpful. Congrats mate, enjoy this one.

Competitions So with the feud coming shortly I chose to not run any competitions last week and this week to give you all some 'free time' before it starts. That said, I am still planning on running weekly comps once the event is over again. Retro Gaming Nights: Rebel Assault - Gaming Running time: Nov 1 - Nov 30 I have taken part in this one - if you need some help, I am happy to assist. All you need is a computer capable of running DOSBox.

Jedi Knight Ladder #8 Running time: Nov 1 - Nov 30 You need Jedi Outcast or Jedi Academy for this one. I have taken part in this one, too, as I own both games.

Gaming Fun 2 Running time: Nov 3 - Dec 1 This one requires Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy, Republic Commando, Battlefront II and Empire at War. It is probably going to be quite difficult as you need to win 5 in each game - finding an opponent for BFII in particular is often a challenge.

[ToR] Highly Decorated Running time: Nov 3 - Nov 30 Whilst I do not yet play ToR, I have noticed that this one doesn't require any other DJB members - you simply must earn as many medals in a warzone as possible. Definitely something obtainable for you ToR guys.

Butcher the Butcher (Diablo 3) Running time: Nov 3 - Nov 30 For this one you must defeat the Butcher on Inferno Difficulty - in a SP game using the highest monster power setting you are able to.

The Business End (of Lust) Running time: Nov 6 - Nov 21 Simply put, this is a poetry competition.

Load the Cannons #9 Running time: Nov 6 - Nov 26 Sort of a one-man ACC battle against any character from Star Wars canon. This month the focus is on horror, so the scarier entries will win.

Our Greatest Tool Running time: Nov 18 - Dec 8 This is a competition to determine who in the Brotherhood can produce the most delectable cookies. The competition will proceed in two phases. The first will focus on recipes, the second will involve the actual production and consumption of said baked goods. I'm going to be very liberal as to the definition of "cookie" for this event subject to the requirements below.

Transfers So what some of you may already know is that Cethgus got promoted to Galeres Aedile (Congrats!). Furthermore Kalon and Kratus requested a transfer to Galeres as well. I am sad to see them go, but wish them luck in the other house. In return, Andrelious J. Inahj, known to some as Lenzar, has been appointed as the new Commander. I will keep serving under him as FL and stay involved in running the team.
