Good afternoon, everyone. There's a lot to talk about. A lot to share, to celebrate, and to prepare for.
First things first
I would like to apologize for not getting a good report out to you guys sooner, but this time of the year is busy for everyone, but especially if you work in retail. Today is my first full off day in the past two weeks- even on Christmas Day, I had to go to the store to check refrigeration and make sure no one broke in the store. The joys of retail management. Anyway, I'm back on a normal schedule and ready to get things going. So, read close and pay attention. There is a whole lot going on. I'll also get back into updating the Tarentum News and Notes wiki page.
AWOL Check and Clone Check
Before I get into the feud results, I would like to remind everyone to respond to the AWOL check by following the instructions in the email you receive. If you receive a blank email, or don't have one at all, check your spam folders and look for âsee quoted textâ (mainly Gmail users on the last one). If all else fails, email James (please copy myself and Jason for our reference).
Also, the Justicar is holding a two week âClone check in.â In short, this is a chance for you to report any clones (that you shouldn't have) or, more likely, if you share an IP address with anyone. This could be family members, friends living in the same dorm or apartment, etc. When in doubt, email the Justicar and report it. Better to say something when you didn't need to, than to not say something when you didn't.
âNew Horizonsâ Feud Results
I would like to thank everyone who participated in the âNew Horizonsâ feud with Odan-Urr, and for the victory. You can see all the final results on the main page. We won! Great job, Tarentum! I would like to thank all of those who helped judge the event for us: Pravus, Wuntila, Shikyo, Ben, and the ACC staff.
The overall results can be found on the House Tarentum message board.
Brotherhood Storyline- Dark Crusade
If you have been watching the main page, and reading the various reports, there is a new adventure coming this year in the Brotherhood. As far as I know, something like this has never been tried before. While we will continue to offer small events on the house level for fun, much of our big activity will be tied in with this overall storyline. There will be mini-feuds, a Great Jedi War, and other things imaginable. Events may be inter-house, intra-house, and Brotherhood wide.
There will be a lot of awards up for grabs, including some unique medals that go beyond the normal seals we see in these type of events. I will say this: we have a chance to keep moving Tarentum forward and gain a lot for this house.
As of right now, the VOICE, Pravus, is hosting a run-on competition. Sign-ups are available through a Google Document- see his last past. We have until the 7th to get in on this. I'm going to sign up- anyone else who wants to join me on a team, let me know so I can sign us all up at once.
Rollmaster open for Applications
Due to the low activity spell Tarentum went through, Jason and I have held off on this. However, with increased activity, and more people coming into the House, I have decided to open applications for the Rollmaster position. In this position, you will be responsible for a couple of things:
-Contacting new members and helping to ensure retention -Assist the Aedile and Quaestor in ensuring members are properly and promptly promoted, based upon the promotion requirements on the wiki -You may serve as a sounding board for ideas for the House, though in the cases of House competitions, involvement in planning may be limited to allow participation -There is no rank or time requirement
If you wish to apply for this position, send myself and Jason an email, detailing why you would like the job, what you think our successes and opportunities are, and anything else you think may help. You should have a fairly quick email turn around time (48 hours or less). There is no rank requirement, but you must have record of activity and be able to remain active for the foreseeable future.
Conclusion
That is all I have for right now. As I said, there is a lot to do, and a lot more coming. I'm looking forward to leading Tarentum through this new year, and developing the House even more. I can only do that with your help- every member can make a difference. We fought hard to stay alive, and I would hate to see that fall apart now.
Long Live Tarentum!
