Happy New Year everyone. I hope each of you had a wonderful holiday with your friends and family. This year kicked off with the Dark Crusade Prologue and the participation has been outstanding. I'm stoked that all of you are participating and look forward to releasing Phase II of the event. Spoiler alert, there might be some sort of meta-event thing going down. Who says a run-on has to be done the same way every time? Not this guy.

Combat Master and Stuff: Congratulations to Dark Jedi Master Shadow Taldrya on his appointment as the new Combat Master of the Dark Brotherhood. Shad submitted an excellent application that identified many key concerns with the ACC, proposed a solution for those concerns, and recommended a way ahead to implement those solutions. In the near-term we can expect to see:

1. The appointment of a new DCM.
2. The consolidation of ACC rules under one location.
3. A wipe of the existing staff, the hiring of a new staff, and the training of said staff.
4. The development and publishing of a standard ACC grading rubric.
5. A focus on creativity, story progression, and combat
6. A detailed review of existing ACC qualification battles with a focus on improving the process.

These developments will lead in to further designs that include a character sheet revision (a DC and membership driven project), SA courses for our ACC judges, and a thorough review of how we can make the ACC more appealing to a wider audience.

Shad will also stay on as my P:Voice because his work has been exceptional and I don't see a need to stop the train.

The Way Ahead:
1. Next week: Phase II release for the run-on, meta-event game thingy, Dark Crusade hints! 2. Next month: Plot update (including all of the recent voice winners, the run on winners, and a bunch of other people that aren't on the DC), the launch of the Great Hunt (competitive elimination fiction event), and more awesomeness. 3. Further: The Star Chamber is active again and working with the Grand Master on ideas that are borderline radical in their approach to shifting and shaping the way we do business. Much love to Muz for dealing with all of us.

Winning Voice Competitions: The recent Voice competitions displayed talented writing, but our writers had the uncanny of all focusing on exactly the same topics/premises/themes. A hint for going forward concerning Voice competitions...be unique, grow your character (I'm awesome, I hunt bad guy, I kill bad guy, I have no feelings other than hate, rarw!), and focus on expanding your personal story.
