Dark Forge Mid-Month Report for January 2013 <h1>

<h2>News</h2> Its been mentioned all over, but I'm going to bring it up one more time. The Dark Crusade is coming! There are several competitions out and running for the Club that are leading up to this event, more on those later in the report.

The ACC is currently in the process of being remodeled. Wanting to write some combat fiction and don't know where to go? Give the Arcona Contract Bureau a shot! Just follow the provided link to the FAQ related to the ACB and go from there. Its slightly different from the ACC that it is an individual event, rather than against another writer.

<h2>New Dark Forge Members!</h2> We've received a few transfers into Dark Forge in the last two weeks and one familiar face start up a new character. In order of appearance/transfer:

Dark Jedi Knight Montresor Monty came to Dark Forge as a Jedi Hunter, in late December. He's already completed the requirements for DJK! Obelisk Exarch Skye Dulovic Formerly known as Teu, Skye is her new character which she is in the process of developing. Templar Jaek Kaeth Also known as the internet Wizard who's working on the new Arcona webpage. Jaek transferred to Dark Forge just last week. Guardian K'tana Jaek's apprentice, K'tana also transferred to us recently and is quickly moving through the Journeyman Ranks.

Welcome to all! I hope you enjoy your time here in Dark Forge, if there's anything you'd like to see your Battleteam get involved in let me know and we'll work to make it happen.

<h2>Promotions, Awards, Shadow Academy, etc</h2> The Battleteam has been cleaning up on all fronts these last two weeks. However, I'll be doing monthly roll ups of the Battleteam's achievements, so you'll have to wait until my end of month report for this epic list. I might need the next two weeks to type it all up!

<h2>Competitions</h2> For a list of Competitions which apply specifically to you please make sure you're logged into the DJB website and follow this link. I've also put together a short list of the Competitions which are currently available, by type, for you to read at your leisure. Remember to CC the House/Clan Summit and myself on your submissions please.

Fiction Competitions:

• While the sign up time period has passed for the Voice's Dark Crusade: SSD Avenger II Run On Competition, all teams are currently approaching the end of Phase 1, with Phase 2 prompts being explained tomorrow. Make sure you get your posts in and have fun!
• Sentence Run-On - An Arcona specific competition to create a Run On one sentence at a time. This comp runs until September, details can be found on the Competition Center and the Thread can be found by following this link.

Gaming Competitions: There are currently no Gaming Competitions running. However, the Fist has put out some information related to some goals you may want to reach prior to the Dark Crusade to assist you in competitions to come.

• Star Wars TOR: Level 50 Empire Character
• Star Wars TOR: Level 50 Republic Character
• Diablo 3: Level 60 Character

I have a pretty decent amount of experience on both of these gaming platforms, so if you have any questions about them feel free to hit me up. I'll admit that my Empire knowledge for TOR is alot better than Republic though, I'm still in the process of reaching Level 50 on a Republic character.

Misc Competitions:

• Feel My Pain - A graphics competition to create a target your character would use to hone their skills on for the upcoming Crusade. Currently being run by the Herald, this Competition ends on January 16th.
• ShadowHand Secrets - An ongoing Competition to find Hidden Messages in the DGM's Reports.
• Dark Crusade Prologue: Shadow Academy Corruption - Find the messages that do not belong!

<h2>Closing</h2> Short mid month report, not too much to say here. The Team has been keeping a high level activity over the last two weeks. The Dark Crusade is right around the corner. Keep up the good work!
