The sensation could have been compared to the effects of death sticks. Euphoric, focused, collected. Shikyo could feel his connection in the Force stronger than he had before; the lives on board the ship, their emotions, their thoughts. If this was a fraction of the power a Grand Master had, the Herald pondered just what kind of feeling his eldest brother felt.

Pneumatic hissing penetrated the air around him as the form of the Kiffar woman entered the room. She moved towards the nearby desk, leaning back onto the edge and watched her husband. Opening his eyes, the Herald closed himself off from the rest of the ship and came back to himself. Elysia smiled softly before stepping towards the Keibatsu

"Congratulations, darling."

Sasuke nodded and smiled as he took his time rising to his feet.

"Thank you, mesh'la. This will come in handy for the battles to come."

As he approached the woman, Elysia reached behind her back before presenting an ebony-colored hilt. The Kyataran recognized it from the dead Dark Jedi Master he fought. It was polished and the emblem of his Nihilgenia was engraved towards the bottom of the hilt. While he savored the design of the weapon, he felt something coming from the lightsaber. Tremendous power.

Shikyo took the hilt from his beloved and activated the switch. Like the howl of a banshee, the weapon screamed to life yet no blade emanated from within the cylinder. Elysia wasted no time moving toward the wall and turning off the lights. The Dark Jedi Master noticed the faint violet glow coming from the hilt instantly but the power dwelled within was what held his attention.

"Magnificent..."

"I found the crystal sitting in your chambers. I thought it might be time you tried to master it again."

The Herald cocked his eyebrow as his glance moved from the blade to the Kiffar.

"But, you can't sense the Force."

"No but I know a thing or two on technology and your family was willing to help."

As he moved towards his wife, the Keibatsu was interrupted from the thoughts in his mind by a cyan, holographic image. Sasuke turned towards the elite trooper who stood at attention. The figure split into a second image, this one dressed in the uniform of a Fleet Officer and in the shape of a Zabrak. The trooper was the first to speak.

"Your Excellency, our scouts are reporting in and we believe we have the next movements of the heretics."

The Zabrak saluted before coming to ease in his stance.

"With the information gathered, we believe we can take them now before more are alerted."

The Dark Jedi Master shook his head.

"Negative. Report your findings to Master Korras, Lord Raken, and Lord Ashen. They will decide our course of action. We are the spear, gentlemen, not the hand."

Both cyan figures saluted to the Kyataran before disintegrating into empty space. Silencing the hum of his new saber, Shikyo took the hand of his wife and held it close before making his way to the bridge. Elysia fell to his side and never fell behind in her pace. As he made his way to his position, the Keibatsu extended his senses out once more and felt the life growing within the Kiffar. Now more than ever, the Herald felt he had the power necessary to protect his family.

For the first chapter of the Dark Crusade, I was impressed to see we had a total of 75 entries. This was the most ever submitted in a vendetta. However with this huge a number, there were some entries that were disqualified. Allow me to explain:

When the competition asks for the image of an item or something specific, that's what I'm looking for. If I cannot tell what it is you're designing or if it has nothing to do with Star Wars, for example Adventure Time images with lightsabers in their hands, I will not accept it. This is a vendetta.

If you want to do something comedic, it still has to fit the criteria we're looking for. If this means a holocron is pink and other neon colors or a person is saying something while making an obscene gesture, then so be it. But it has to fit the criteria.

Funny enough, a lot of concerns were over the quality of the images that were made. Many of the images that were drawn in MS Paint still matched the criteria and went on to count for participation points for their respective units. This is something for everyone to keep in mind for future events.

I'd like to give special kudos to Solus Gar and Morotheri Mithfaron for their entries in their respective events. Morotheri designed an entirely original design for the ghost of Jev Sunrider and Solus Gar's interpretation of the holocron on Nfolgai seemed very much like an image we'd see on the Old Republic website. Excellent job, you two!

Lastly and this is really the most important thing I want to say. Compared to a bunch of people I know, 7 years isn't a long time in this club. The majority of this time has been spent serving as Herald and before that, I stayed in at some position of leadership or another. While many members get the chance to have fun with the things we create, I'm on my toes making sure I'm doing something that you all will enjoy.

To that degree, I've not heard any complaints.

Reading over the recommendations and the kudos I've gotten from various members in this club has meant more to me than the promotion. It's nice to know that the energy put into this has been worthwhile and appreciated. I'm sure not asking for another 5 years but I do look forward to keeping you guys entertained and expecting more from me. I'll do my best not to let you down.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for not driving me insane and keeping me creative.
