Report time. Yayyy!

Okay gang, topic on the table today is: Dark Crusade!

As you all should know, the Dark Crusade will be a year-long event, with multiple “Phases”. From what we can see, each Phase will hold a certain amount of Months in each. This first Phase (Phase 1) is purely participation based. That means that every amount of participation you put into it counts.

W have one more month of events before Phase 1 ends and Phase 2 starts up. After Phase 1, it will be back to pure TALENT in winning these events. That means all us will have to put quality time and effort into our submissions. This is not to say that you haven’t been putting quality into your submissions, but it does mean that there is a higher mark on members that place top 10, top 5 and top 3 respectively.

The months in Phase 1 should act as a time for you to get acquainted with which events you are best suited in/ which events you are GREAT at and which events you enjoy doing. It is important to know what events you are suited for, and to capitalize on those events when the time comes that you have to decide which events you can participate while juggling between your Real Life obligations.

A good way to tell which events suit you best is simple: which events are you able to accomplish a good, quality submission without straining yourself? And when I say a good, quality submission, I am meaning a submission that you can sign off on as being good, or better yet, great. It doesn’t take much to know when an entry is good for participation points, and when it is good for placement points. Be honest with yourself, and your return will be rewarding. Keep that in mind.

Promotions:

We have couple of promotions here. First up, we have the lovely Catamui who has earned her promotion to Acolyte! Woo! Give up for the newbie!

Moving right along, being the Winners that we are, we got a special treat for the members who have really shown some tact and responsibility by participating in the Crusade on behalf of Taldryan. These members are being recognized and rewarded by the Grand Master himself with Field Promotions.

Obelisk Templar Kazmir Natas has been elevated to the second tier of the Equites. Rise, my brother, as an Obelisk Prelate! Go enjoy your new custom saber, new robes and new war banner options! Be sure to pick some cool force powers while you are at it! Protector Rathus Marr and Protector Markus Krane have both been promoted on the battlefield to the rank of Guardian! Enjoy your War Banners, both of you! Lastly, but certainly not least, Guardian Carissus has become a dreaded Jedi Hunter! And so begins your trials to Knighthood. Enjoy every second of it, man!

Okay, so first things first! If you aren’t already aware, we have a new Rollmaster in Taldryan! Alanna Taldrya, AKA Lannie, has stepped up to the plate. We are very happy to have the great Lady Lannie on our Summit welcoming members and lending her wisdom to anyone who needs it. Speaking about position updates, Bubbles Taldrya has stepped up in place of the Wardens of Unity BTL for the time-being. She will be taking care of the WoU. Lastly, we're going to be working on getting the Taldryan event submissions for the Dark Crusade up on the Tal.net. This will help members who are looking to see what type of entry the Winning Fictions/GFX's look like. Hopefully you can read them and get an idea of why those submissions were placed in the top placements, and possibly even help you with your submissions! It's also a great way to see what your other Tally brothers and sisters are cooking up!

Okay, so for everyone who is wondering where the goodies are at… they are coming! I am working on a nice, sexy list to see who will be getting what. So within the upcoming week, if you were active in the past two months of events, you should be seeing something shiny in the mail! =D

I decided to do some Throwback Headers with this report. These are just SOME of the hundreds of report headers I have. I probably changed my headers back when I was AED and QUA every few months. =P Yay for screwing around and pretending I was good at Photoshop!

Lastly, a word on IRC. Many of you who DO go on IRC either frequently or on a regular basis know the awesomeness that it is. #taldryan is quite a unique place, and is the #1 way to really get in touch with the DB. It took me a month or so when I first joined to hop on IRC and join the Taldryan channel, #taldryan. When I did, I became hooked.

There is always conversation going on, and with the large population of the DB being scattered across the globe, there is always SOMEONE on. #taldryan and #db are always full with people chatting about SW stuff, Real Life stuff, and just anything that comes to mind. It is a quick way to jump into the culture that is the Dark Jedi Brotherhood, and is the best way to get to know your fellow Tallys.
