Hey everyone what's that time? CNS Consul report!
In this one I'll talk about the recent change in leadership, touch on stuff for July, and talk about what's going on in June. And some other little things you should read.
First, for anyone living under a rock, I want to note that chapter III of the Crusade is, of course, going on right now, and ends Friday at midnight, EST. Yes, friday night, NOT Saturday night. Don't be late getting your entries in!
So the biggest news in CNS is that we lost two great Summit members. Atra (Proconsul) and Kalia (Quaestor of House Marka Ragnos) both stepped down. They were really great people to have on the Summit and in the Clan, and replacing them was something I first thought would be impossible.
But then I got a lot of good applications and realized there's a lot more great talent out there than my negative worldview realized. This led to some pretty tough decisions, but I think the ones we finally settled on are great. Thus Malik Sadow became Proconsul and Vaar Mai became Quaestor for House Marka Ragnos.
Each of these guys is great in their own way. Malik has years of experience in every Summit position imaginable. Plus he comes from a totally different generation than most Summit members. I'm not just leveling out the experience average in the Clan, Malik is really quite a badass. And now you oldbies can't say I don't listen to you. ;)
As for Vaar Mai, perhaps better known as Mirus, you probably know of him as well. He's founded two successful Battleteams in his time in the Brotherhood so far, and CNS is really fortunate to have him. He's demonstrated that he knows how to look at all facets of a problem and come to solutions for them. Plus, he's really, really active, as JA players can no doubt attest to.
Also, it was his birthday. I had to get him something!
Seriously, as much as I am sad to see two amazing Summit members go, I'm also really excited to see what the future will bring and what we will accomplish together.
I want to remind everyone about the special forces nominations for the July Crusade chapter. As a quick refresher, that one will be scored differently. Each Clouse will get a team of eight (or nine) "special forces". Their entries will be judged against all the other special forces teams to see who actually wins this part of the Crusade. Everyone else will still contribute to overall participation for fleet points. In addition, if the Clouse's ratio is 1.5 or better, you get an extra special forces person for the next round. So with nine people, you're automatically off to a head start over anyone who only has eight. This also means there will be two sets of awards: first, second, and third for the special forces people, and first, second, and third for everyone else. For each competition. That's double the norm, and you may find yourself competing against different people for the top slots.
We've been running a form for nominations for who should be on this team for awhile now, and it's still open if you haven't nominated anyone. It's located here. If you're not in the Clan, I'm expecting at least a few troll answers. Don't disappoint me!
Keep in mind, that isn't a final selection, but it gives us a pool to consider and vote on. Furthermore, if you would like to be on that special forces team, the current Crusade chapter is a chance for you to prove yourself.
That's July. What are we doing in June?
June is a month off. June is a time to do stuff that's not Crusade stuff. This means we'll have a loose Runon plot going on, because I'm sure you'll want to catch up on how the Crusade's affected your character. We'll also be running some smaller competitions like in the olden days (IE, last year.)
Then there's the wiki. You may have noticed that, with the fictional changes, the wiki is kind of in need of work. Okay, "kind of" is really a massive understatement. Our wiki is outdated and we need your help to fix it, update it, and add new content.
Do you want to help? Do you want to get recognized? Do you want to get rewarded? Contact anyone on Summit, whether it's myself, Malik, Methyas, Kairus, or Vaar and we'll help you get started.
So you might remember the Suggestion Box from awhile back. Well, people used it...and I didn't mention it in my last report. That was a total fail on my part. Lots of other stuff was going on...but, yep, my fault. I wanted to wait till there were a few answers. Really!
As usual, here's the new suggestions, followed by my response.
I suggest a sweep of the Can wikia to see which articles need graphics done.
This is a great idea! They need lots of text, too. We'll get together a list of what needs graphics and let everyone know how they can help out.
Just Dance!
Sorry...I really suck at dancing. Maybe later. Or do you mean dancing will solve all our problems? Maybe...
Updating the Clan website would be totally awesome. Nobody else does it. We'd actually have, y'know, a website and we could use it and it'd be great?
This is a possibility we've been looking into for a while. The thing is, right now, we already have so many methods to communicate. We have IRC, the wiki, the forums, Teamspeak, and Google+. That's mostly why we haven't already updated the Clan site. Disagree? Think I'm missing something (it happens)? Please either contact me or use the Suggestion Box, again!
Ya'll are a bunch of nubs :)
Yacks?!
Thanks for the replies, everyone. I'm glad to see the thing get some use. If you would like to continue to suggest stuff, offer your opinion, or just comment on things - and I hope you do - then please, use the...
That's about all I have. So what else is going on right now?
Well, both of our House's Battleteams need new leaders, so our Quaestors will be talking more about that soon. Pay attention to your email!
Also, the survey from Muz's last report is still open. It's about a whole bunch of important stuff. This is your chance to tell the Dark Council how you feel about...pretty much anything. And it's not that long. The best part is that Muz has said he will be addressing the responses in his next report. That's probably really soon, so go take it if you haven't already! It's not that long.
Note that I probably wouldn't troll this one too much. Muz's wrath isn't as nice as mine. It's actually quite ugly.
One more divider and...yep, that's it. Report over.
