The Mon Cal smiled wide. "Ah, Solari! I stopped by your office, but you were away. I was going to try again on my way out, but you found me instead."

The Headmaster nodded. "I was disappointed to receive your resignation."

"Yes, well, the flow of the Force has carried me away from here," the Mon Cal shrugged. "And, if rumor is correctly, the flow has pushed Ood to the top; from a fishy to a tree, your choice of assistants is eclectic."

Another nod. "Epis Bnar was at the top of my list. In fact, he was my list."

Troutrooper gurgled a chuckle. "A Shard and a Neti. You two will outlive every student you instruct."

"We will."

A thick silence separated the Jedi and Dark Jedi.

"A Souvenir", by Troutrooper, continued on the forums.

Month In Review

This past month was reasonably quiet, as far as people taking courses goes. 53 exams were passed, which isn't surprising when the month was fully of unit's running their own competitions (good work on that, by the way, well impressed with what you all managed to get in) and the first week of the second phase of the Dark Crusade being in full swing.

That's not to say that it has been quiet for the Shadow Academy in general. We've had some appointment of a Praetor, actioned flow on staff changes, we've relocated to a new home (in preparation) and paid tribute to the SA Staff for all their hard work.

Shadow Academy on the Staging Site

Ood - who is now the Praetor to the Headmaster if you missed that during the month - reported that we had a selection of courses ready for trial on the Staging website.

The situation has changed a little now, in that we have coded all of the current Shadow Academy courses and added them to staging. If you're able to, please head over the the new Shadow Academy "site" and give the courses a whirl. Note that if you pass a course (or improve your score) on staging, Ood and/or I will manually update your score on the live website.

If you happen to come across anything wrong, or that we can improve upon, please drop us a line and we'll endeavour to get it sorted as soon as possible.

Big thanks go out to Teu and Ood for assisting in coding the course notes and re-doing exams, without them this transition would not have been completed as quickly as it did.

Tribute to the Academy Staff

Given that the start of this month marked the middle of the year, I figured it was as good of a time as any to pay tribute to the Shadow Academy staff for their dedication to training, grading and everything they do for/with the Shadow Academy.

Congratulations to all of the staff on your Scrolls of Foundation, and good job to all of you who also received Service Degrees (on a side note, if you didn't get one and you think you're eligible, let me know...)

Without you guys, the Shadow Academy wouldn't function, keep on being awesome.

Looking for a job?

With Ood's transition to Praetor, his previous position, Professor of CORE Studies became vacant. Given the high volume nature of this Department, and the importance I place on it, we opened applications for that role to existing Staff Members.

It was a tough call, but in the end it was decided to move Teu into the position.

This means that we now need a Docent to manage the two Wiki courses. This position is open to all to apply for. If you're interested, you'll need:

• Rank of Guardian
• 48 hour email turnaround
• Have passed the desired course with at least a 90%
• Have ideas are how to improve the course, as well as what to keep Email applications to Ood and I.

Member Spotlight: Alexander DelGotto

Recently Alexander DelGotto completed three courses across the Combat and Flight departments, rounding out the requirements for two degrees: Dark Maven in Flight and Dark Savant in Tactics and Combat.

It's always cool seeing those chains of degree completion come by my desk. Good work Alexander!

Flex your design muscle

Think you have the graphics prowess to design a modern Shadow Academy logo, give it a shot and send what you come up with into Ood and I.

This logo won't be completely replacing the Shadow Academy shield/crest that is currently in service, but I will be using along side it and in various media and documents, including upcoming videos (SPOILERS!).

If I end up using your design, or you submit something truly amazing, I'll make sure you get some form of remuneration.
