Some of you may have already noticed, but our brilliant coders have gifted us with a completely integrated Gaming Portal!! It has some pretty sweet features, such as auto-calculating CFs, integrated Screenshots (so you don't need to post them and link them!), and an easy to use interface. I'm completely thrilled with it, and hope you all are also! Thank you Code-Monkeys!
The link to the Gaming Portal can be found from your Admin Menu, click Submit Gaming Scores.
When submitting your Alien Swarm Matches please select the appropriate Competition for General/Special Forces and Planet. Don't worry, I'll be reviewing all of the Alien Swarm submissions just in case one slips through and doesn't get added to the Competition manually. I'll also be checking the old Gaming Portal Google Form, just in case any of you have submitted your activity through that in the few hours we've had the Crusade running.
A few questions came through about the "Participation Credit" part of this round. If you earn a CF on any platform during this round of the Crusade that will count you as participating in the Gaming portion. In order to qualify to Place in the Event, you must play Alien Swarm though.
Answer 1: The points for their placement will be split between the Houses based on the number of members from each unit. In this case it would be 50/50.
Fastest Time: Pravus, Muz, and Raken
Second Fastest: Muz, Raken, and Val
Third fastest time: Korras, James, and Shikyo
Fourth fastest time: Val, Taig, Solari, and Muz
Answer 2:
Gold Nova: Pravus, Muz, and Raken
Silver Nova: Korras, James, and Shikyo
Bronze Nova: Val, Taig, and Solari
The second fastest time group only has one unique member (Val) from the winning group, so Silver passes to the next group. OMERGAWD WHY VAL?! This is to keep from just having 3 "Swarm pro's" run through three groups changing out the 4th member in order to take all three Placements on their planet. I'm sure doing placements like this will probably not be popular with some folks, but I think its required to keep a level playing field. Obviously people won't be able to get "double rewarded" for placement (ie Muz doesn't get a Gold and Bronze). This applies to SF & GF. Val's recommendation: Find/assign a "Swarm Buddy" to always game with to ensure your group top score is "a unique group".
Answer 1: As long as there are two members of GF from Korriz, yes! You will not be eligible to place in their event (you each have different Missions in the game to run), but you can help another unit by grouping with them. (This principle applies to SF as well)
Answer 2: As long as two members from Jaguada General Forces are in the group, yes! However, Special Forces individuals will not be eligible for Nova for General Forces entries. (This principle applies both ways)
Answer 3: You don't have to. Although #dbGaming is a good resource to use to fill out a partially completed group (if you want to run with a full group).
Answer 1: Those rules primarily apply to competitions based around Duels / Player vs Player fighting. Since this is a Cooperative Gaming Event they isn't really any Challenges going out, or Matches to dodge.
Answer 2: There is a limit to the number of Alien Swarm Matches with one group you can earn CFs from each day. You're welcome to play past that 12 Match limit, just remember to submit the screenshot with your fastest time in the entry so I have it for grading! Also, similar to other platforms, changing up the individuals in the group gets you another 12 Matches to earn CFs from.
Answer 3: Submit them all so you get CF credit for them, I'll find your best time.
Answer 4: Submit the Match for everyone present to receive CFs. I'll work out the SF/GF matchups and make sure people get awarded correctly.
Answer 5: Alien Swarm is awarded CFs as a Matchmaking platform (0.5 CFs per Mission Complete)
Answer 6: Take a screenshot of the one which shows experience gain. On Easy Mode this shows a "-50% Difficulty Modifier", this lets me verify the SF groups are playing on Normal Mode, not Easy Mode. Time is listed next to the "Par Time" on that screen as well.
Fractions of Clusters of Fire - Will be carried over to the next day in the system.
Diablo 3 - Has a 30 CF per day cap. CFs beyond 30 will be carried over until Thursday, on Thursday excess CFs are dropped from the system. This maintains a 210CF weekly cap (slight increase from 200). We picked Thursday because this gives the most time for people gaming over the weekend. A Daily Cap was implemented for coding purposes.
Disclaimer - I'm probably forgetting something. Leave a comment/question and I'll get back to you. Today I've got a 7 hour drive back home after visiting some family, but I'll do my best to check this page often. Unless I'm behind the wheel :p

Val, a question on submissions for competition credit: If players are in a mixed General Forces/Special Forces match of Alien Swarm, is there a way to submit it as an entry for both competitions? If not, should it be submitted twice with SF participants submitted under the SF event and GF participants submitted under the GF event?
SF and GF have different difficulty levels they play (GF = Easy, SF = Normal). So a match can't count towards both.
Integrated gaming portal!! No more collecting pins after a match!
So can we not play with teams containing members of SF and GF? Or does that mean that a mixed team can play, but the difficulty setting determines what event it is for? Also, I'm assuming that all teams must be 100% DJB members, correct?
Difficulty determines the event. Yes, you want to stick with DJB folks.
Refer to Rakens Google Doc for info on number of people required. Typing on iPhone in a car ATM :p
