Greetings Folks,

Welcome once again to this week's installment of the Aedile Report, your source for the latest and greatest happenings from around the wide Dark Jedi world. This week is of course, the return to normalcy, where the whole DB takes a collective breath and mutters prayers to whatever deity they do or don't believe in, thanking them for two whole months of Dark Crusade free goodness.

Anyways, onward and upward… to the report!

The Crusades Are Over… For a Bit

Well folks, unless you've been living under a rock, you know that in the last two weeks we were once again besieged by the Dark Crusades. These are grueling, heavy work competitions, but from long experience I can tell you that prolonged activity like this, while brutal at times can sometimes be a blessing. The growth we've seen in Taldryan since the Crusades began is monumental, and it takes everyone's contributions in order to make it so. Thus, firstly, a huge thank you to everyone who's shaken the dust off their boots and helped out.

Now, as per usual, at the end of these I'm going to outline some stellar performers, and single them out individually for how awesome they were. The Summit carefully tracks submissions made to the events, so we can keep an eye on who is active and who is not, thusly, I would like to give huge props to the following people who participated in 4/4 events.

Jac Cotelin, Halcyon Rokir Taldrya, Tarax Eosphorous Taldrya Kor, Kazmir Natas, Rian Aslar, Rathus Marr, Howlader, Chaosrain Taldrya, and Alaris Jinn. You guys, putting your asses on the line and going 4/4 is an inspiration to us all, and Taldryan thanks you.

Not everyone can go 4/4 though, and their contributions are no less valued, so let's also give a hand to Quejo, Shaz'air, Benevolent, Bubbles, Anubis, Carissus, Draco, Retden, Nero, and fully let us welcome Teia Coran back to activity :)

Anyways, everyone can have a small nap now. We'll certainly be running some development competitions and what not during this break, to keep your minds sharp, but hopefully nothing too stressful. More on this later.

Character Sheets: Still a Thing

Right, so I have been getting a lot of notices about people who are submitting and updating their character sheets. These are great tools that we can use to help develop the fictional basis of our characters, and let us not only write more fully about ourselves, give us easy reference to write about our allies. Character sheets are an extremely valuable tool for all of us to use, and especially when we plan to invite other people into our fictions, they're a resource that is second to none. I strongly encourage you to start working on your character sheets today. If you have any questions, as always, the Summit is more than willing to help, and if you can manage to catch Combat Master Mav on IRC, he's a jolly fine fellow who will also likely help :D

Speaking of the Combat Master, he did just do a report where he talks about nothing less than the character sheets, and one of the talented and insane people in the SCL Staff recently posted about how you can access your old character sheets from the old site (lol, remember that thing?) in order to reference them. Howie is desperate for Attention

So I'm putting this in here cause I asked Howie what headlines I should use, and he said:

So here I am, mentioning Howie. Strangely enough, Howie actually is in the middle of something that has some relevance, so I'll talk about it too. Howie, as you may know by the fact that his name has likely been on every one of your medal requests of late, is the Magistrate to the Master at Arms. It's a thankless job with almost no recognition, but he does okay at it. Right now, his current task de jour is to do the grunt work of updating dossier histories. So, if for some reason you go back through your history and are missing a position/title/job/medal/anything from the past, and can prove you had the thing you're missing (email or newsletter proof or something), Howie will go through and fix up your timelines. Who is Driving? OMG Mobile Gaming is Driving!

I'm getting tired, and it's possible that is affecting my headline creating skills. So I'm just gunna rip the relevant section off from the Fist's report.

As a society we're all hooked to our smart phones. I know mine hardly leaves my side most days, with this in mind we've decided to venture into the Mobile side of Gaming and try out a few competitions related to it. Here's the basis of what's planned.

Each month the Fist Staff will feature of "Monthly Mobile Gaming" Competition for a Smart Phone App, my aim is that we focus on Free Apps or Free Versions of Apps. This competition will reward 3rd Level Cresents (remember these can be upgraded for high participation) and each participant will be awarded 5 CFs. Note that these CFs are one time awards each month, not for each entry/score submitted. The idea behind this is to basically to give members something they can play around on while at break, waiting for an airplane, or if they just can't get normal access to a computer and still know they'll get some kind of reward for it, even if they don't place.

So, I thought it would only be appropriate to kick off the inaugural Monthly Mobile Gaming event with Star Wars: Angry Birds (Free Version)! Not only is this appropriate to the Club, later this month we'll also be seeing the release of Star Wars: Angry Birds II (expected on September 19th), so maybe some folks will want to pick that up after playing. Special note for Star Wars: Angry Birds 2 - you can play as Dark Side characters! Check out the Competition Center for more details on this month's competition!

RTFR 2.0 Episode 3: Cake vs. Pie, The Showdown

Not a standard RTFR. No hidden gimmicks or scavenger hunts this time. Just sheer insanity and fun.

CAKE VS PIE. Is there a more in depth debate in humanity? I think not my friends, and today we will see who stands for what, in this age old question. There are more details to be seen on the event page here when it officially opens at Midnight EST, but for now, just start formulating your argument, or pictorial, or whatever the hell you choose to make the case as to which one of the two is better.

These are fun little mini-reports that basically do a bit more in depth to find the core of our fellow Taldryan. We are the Brotherhood within a brotherhood, and this is a great way to get to know your family.
