This is going to be a fun one, folks. A real wagon-tipping doozy.
<GFX goes here>
I'd like to first thank everyone that applied. I got a few really good applications, (some pleasant surprises, even) and I have spent the last few days looking them over and checking them against what I was looking for in my Proconsul. After careful thought, I've reached my decision.
Everyone please welcome Legorii Kryotek as Proconsul of Clan Arcona. Legorii has spent the last few months as Qel-Droma Quaestor. In those months, he was also a member of Arcona's Special Forces teams, leading by example and helping kick House Qel-Droma into high gear after the loss of two prominent leaders.
Legorii has been a member of Arcona since he joined the Brotherhood. He has served in almost every position from BTL to Quaestor. He has stepped into leadership roles on three separate occasions when there was a need. Each time he jumped in without hesitation or pause. And each time he left the position in better condition than when he inherited it. I won't bore everyone with a history lesson however. There is not a single member in the Clan that has demonstrated an undying loyalty and passion for Arcona. He has the presence and the experience I need to help me run the everyday operations of Clan Arcona. We worked together closely when I was a BTL, and he has worked under me in QUA, AED, and BTL capacities and as a result I feel the most comfortable with having him as my Proconsul.
Congratulations, Legz. Now get back to work! :P
With Legorii stepping up to Proconsul, and Montresor moving over to take over Plagueis, this now creates some openings in House Qel-Droma...
For the past 7 Months, Valtiere has been the Battleteam Leader of Void Squadron. He has in that time gone from a little-bitty Guardian and earned his way up to Sith Warrior. He took a unit we contemplated closing and brought it back to life through leading by example and by keeping his members engaged and involved with the team. I feel a strange sense of deja vu now that I think about it- I myself was in a similar situation taking over a BT when I was just a Jedi Hunter. Valt mirrors a lot of the same traits I feel helped get me recognized. It's encouraging to see progress like Valt has made, and myself and the Arconae have the utmost confidence that Valtiere will do a stellar job as Aedile.
For the time being, please bring all questions and concerns regarding House Qel-Droma to Etah, Valt, Legorii, and myself. :)
I am opening Applications for QUA of House Qel-Droma. We strongly encourage members from Arcona as well as the DB at large to send their applications in. House Qel-Droma is the more secretive House in Clan Arcona - the knife in the shadows to House Galeres militaristic fist. There is a lot of fictional background to the House still begging to be flushed out, and the membership base is a mixture of veteran and new faces eager to get involved with projects. This is a unique opportunity to help improve one of the most powerful units in the Brotherhood. It consists of two Battleteams; Void Squadron - Arcona's Stealth-X operators, and Shadow Gate - Arcona's covert op and investigation unit.
You can see what the Brotherhood expects of a Quaestor here
In your applications, we expect a tactical analysis on the house as it sits, as well as a 30-60-90 day strategic plan on how to take it to the next level. We want to know not only who you are and what you have done, but also what you intend to do and how you plan to accomplish those things. Do not waste time with sending us a list of recommendations- if we need to read someones recommendation to change our minds about your application, you're doing it wrong ;).
Please send all applications to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses]
With Valt stepping up, we now have a ... void in Void Squadron! (ouch! What? I had to!). In order to fill this hole (phrasing) we are opening Applications for Void Squadron BTL as well.
You can find the guidelines for BTL here.
In your application, include your accomplishments in Vendettas, Wars, or other brotherhood events. List individual accomplishments, real world leadership experience, and anything else you feel relevant. Just like QUA Apps, I will ignore any recommendations included as unnecessary fluff.
Send applications to: [Log in to view e-mail addresses], [Log in to view e-mail addresses], and [Log in to view e-mail addresses]
Edit: ALL Applications due by Sunday, September 22nd at 11:59PM EST.
For those of you that missed it, our very own Atyiru Aarave has been elevated to the rank of Equite 1, which is a Krath...something... (my Editors are telling me it's called Krath Priestest? Lame :P) Her promotion comes directly from the Grand Master in recognition of not only her leadership ability, but her stellar and uncanny performance in the Dark Crusade. Since being Knighted, Atyiru has served as a member of Arcona's Special Forces team and has earned a total of 9 Novae. That's right, 9. That includes 5 gold novae, 2 of which were earned on Kalsunor against the might of House Plagueis. It is no easy thing to join a new club in the middle of a year-long conflict. Atty has hit the ground running since the second she got here, earning her first recognition for a ridiculous 50-page fiction back on Rhelg.
Hard work, loyalty and dedication will always be rewarded in Clan Arcona.
Also check out Mav's post on the board as well. The Character Sheet Team was given a slew of awards for their hard work. Make sure to thank Mav, Alaris, and everyone else for their hard work. As a part of that team, I can vouch for the amount of hours and late nights that went into the creation of the new CS's.
So this is a perfect segue for real talk for a second.
I've spent the last 4 years of my life in this club as a leader. In that time, I've seen a plethora of promotions and awards go out to not just Arconan's, but to other units. I've written my share of them, and I've argued with the MAA staff multiple times over what I felt was right against what they felt was proper. It is a continual growing process for leaders like Wun and myself. Regardless of that, I feel that we have done a very good job with making sure our members are rewarded and taken care of when it comes to their hard work and dedication.
We sometimes fall into a habit of looking at other people's accomplishments and comparing them to our own. When we do that, we can sometimes feel slighted, unappreciated, or even angry. I would be lying if I said I never had feelings like this myself. However, this is not a healthy way of thinking, or even close to how we should as both members and leaders of the Brotherhood conduct ourselves.
We are not here in the Brotherhood for awards and promotions. We are here because of each other- because of the friendships we've built and the way we can express ourselves creatively through some of our favorite hobbies and mediums (gaming, writing, graphics, and so on.) Of course medals and promotions are important. It's a wonderful feeling knowing that you are appreciated for the hard work you do. That should never be a reason to ever try and discredit what someone else in another unit may have done or accomplished. The same way that I know what each Arconan does behind the scenes goes for the other units as well. We have no idea what their members do. We have no idea how much time and effort they put in.
On a closing note, I will steal from one of my favorite movies.
You are not your rank. You are not your awards.
You are a member of Arcona, and a member of the Brotherhood. Keep up the awesome work and everything else will fall in line after it.
So, when you see other members outside of Arcona getting awards or promotions, congratulate them. We are working very hard to move away from the Brotherhood of the past where units were insular and shunned each other. This is a huge part of that. Be happy for others, keep working hard. Everyone will get what they deserve in time. Thank you for your dedication and for keeping up with the Dark Crusade and everything else going on. The DB hasn't seen this level of activity in years, and you guys are all killing it.
Again, Thank you to everyone who's been showing up everyday and putting in the work. Good things are coming on the horizon.
Again, if you have any questions or concerns with matters concerning rank, awards, and promotions, please let us (the Arconan Summit). We are here to serve you guys.
In Darkness,
-W

Congrats, Legz. Enjoy the groveling, hard work, hours beneath a desk and general business of being Wally's Proconsul. <3
Also congrats to Atty and Gilbert on their EQ1 and Aedile promotions. :D
Grats Leg.
Can't say I agree literally... at all with the statement concerning not caring about your rank or opportunities as an individual, as... frankly that's one of the only things I do enjoy about the DB as a game outside of the people. But; that sentiment aside it makes more sense as to why the EQ promotions "standards" make absolutely no sense.
I do want to say though, a big congratulations to Atyiru she in every way deserves the promotion, hard work, personality, and dedication are resources she has in abundance congratulations on EQ1 Atty :)
A better choice couldn't have been made for HQD Aedile, Valt is a good guy, intelligent leader, and someone with the backing of some of the greatest, and brightest to support his continuing legacy for HQD.
Good work guys and gals
Awesome work everyone congrats legz!
Well said Wally. if all i cared about was promos i'd have been long gone. It's always good to see others progressing and it really only makes the complainer look bad when they question or demean some else because of a promotion.
I'm not from Arcona, but I have to admit that the words Wally wrote about promotions and awards were really well put. When I entered in the DB 2 years ago my priority objective was to reach the rank of DJK. Due to RL demands, I had to stop shortly after I began, but when I came back I came with the same purpose: reaching DJK. As I worked through the ranks though, I started seeing the DB as a whole, not anymore as a single individual. Somewhere in the road my goal became clear. After I reached my initial goal I would dedicate myself to the club as a whole, not anymore towards individual advancement. I was lucky to become EQ1, and I didn't ask for it either, but since I got promoted I've been working non-stop to improve the situation of my Clan and the DB. Promotions or awards are not important anymore, what matters is what I do for the club. The satisfaction of seeing a course I have written published on the Shadow Academy is worth more than any promotion. To mentor a student and guide him as others guided me weights way more than an award. To see people becoming more active around me thanks to my efforts would be better than becoming the leader of all of them.
This is my personal opinion, and how I see the DB. As I said, Wally put it really well and I wanted to add my two cents. :P
Thanks bros, congrats to Valtiere and Atyiru on their respective elevations.
