Aaand... I think that's enough of that.

As you'll have already seen from the banner, this marks my first update for House Shar Dakhan since becoming Quaestor last month. While I've never been a big one for reports, as I instead prefer to keep in regular contact with everyone, what you can instead always expect from these updates is some actual NEW information, so without any further waffle, onward to the goodies and baddies:

PROMOTION! Arise Syntari, Knight of Sadow!

In the last month, Clan Naga Sadow has been abuzz with a renewed enthusiasm for activity, as the current competition with House Taldryan shows, and it gives me great pleasure to announce that one of Shar Dakhan's own Journeymen, or Journeywoman in this case, has fulfilled her Trials and been elevated to join the ranks of the Dark Jedi Knights.

For those who don't know Syntari, she was one of House Shar Dakhan's very first Apprentices when the House first opened, and so it's particularly nice to see her having finally earned the right to wield a lightsaber of her very own and be the first of what I hope will be a new line of Dark Jedi Knights. So please, extend your applause for Syntari Bastiayn, Sadowan Knight!

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES: What's next when we're done kicking Tally's exhaust port?

Firstly, awesome job so far everyone that's taking part in the comp with Taldryan.

The explosion in run-on activity has been truly, truly fantastic, so great work to all those of you who are taking part (and for those still to get involved, there's still another week to join in the fun: http://forums.darkjedibrotherhood.com/viewtopic.php?f=79&t=6981).

Don't forget that there's also the make fun of your leaders event, which is basically your opportunity to, um, make some graphics, or a video, or write something, that, er... undermines the Taldryan leaders' authority -- or, if you want to be clever, you could decide to be an anarchist and instead mock your own ( coughMEcough ) leaders instead...

As the banner at the start clearly shows, I suck at graphics, and could do with some report banners. So if you're any good at all -- and it would be hard to do any worse than my dismal attempt! -- please get in touch and let me know, and there'll be a medal in it for your help.

HUH...? Just who the heck is this old guy...?

Although I've introduced myself to everyone in Shar Dakhan individually, I figure it won't hurt to briefly give short "introduction" about who I am, especially with the aforementioned "Make fun of coughGoatandcough Yacko" competition (I dispute any claim that my use of bold in this report is biased).

In 1999 (yes, I'm a geek and should grow up) I joined House Ludo Kressh, which was then the Sith House of Clan Naga Sadow, back when Orders were restricted in what activities people could do. Krath did writing, Obelisk played Jedi Knight, Sith played the flight simulator games. Since then, I've been demoted, Ludo Kressh's Quaestor, Naga Sadow's Consul, the eighth member of the Seven coughwhowimpedoutcough , then the Sith High Warrior (think FIST, but only for the flight sims), retired, Consul again, Deputy Grand Master, retired, and now Quaestor again to help with training up some new Aediles who will be able to lead Naga Sadow into the Sequel Trilogy when it comes in another eighteen months time).

...from a demotion to Deputy Grand Master... such a colourful history I have had...

Why do I muddy my own name, you might be wondering...? In my one-to-one correspondences with the members of my House, I realised that a lot of people look at Elders like me with fear and trepidation, worried that they might say something wrong, much like I did Admiral Tron and Grand Master Khyron when I first joined all those years ago.

Long story short: yes, I may have "Darth" before my name, but in no ways does it mean that you can't speak to me, if anything, it means I've seen (or committed myself :P) much, much worse than anything you may be worried about, so be brave, and just send me an email if there's ever anything you need to ask.

...even if you need additional detail for the aforementioned "Mock the Elders" event :P

I will have more news to bring in a week's time when the event with Taldryan is over, and having already had feedback from everyone in HSD and spoken to Malik and Teu, it's clear that people are busting a gut for more storytelling opportunities, so look for another run-on to commence as soon as the current story with Tal closes up after the weekend!
