For those of you that haven't read up on the news lately, we’ve seen the new announcement of the Master at Arms. Taking on the roles and responsibilities of this position is DJM Kalen Aquillarum. We wish him the best of luck in this new position and know that he will do a great job.

Also announced has been a few new game updates that we wanted to point out to people. So far, the new patch for ToR has been announced and the gamers among us would like to say it’s awesome. We recommend getting on and playing. Further, there’s also an expansion coming out for Diablo 3 that is well worth looking into.

Just a general note, though, to all members of House Galeres: we would recommend that you constantly check the front page of the Brotherhood. It’s main purpose is to inform you of what’s taking place around the DJB. Make sure that you are up-to-date with news and information, since things are constantly changing.

House News:

We’ve done a bit of shuffling...again. But change is a good thing! Recently, Uji (formerly S’nar, as Wally has stated) stepped down from BTL of Dark Forge to focus on his work as a Magistrate in the Fist office. He did a great job, and really stepped up when we needed his ambition, creativity and drive. Thanks, brother.

That said, Dark Forge was opened to applications, and the new BTL was announced. We welcome Kordath Bleu d’Tana to the Galeres Summit, and look forward to great things from him. Dark Forge ladies and gents, if you haven’t had a chance to check out this intro and the comp he’s got running or generally communicate a bit, we urge you to do so. Keep on keepin’ on, and watch out for traps (‘sup Trouty).

A Note on Battleteam Membership

We haven't said much on this subject of late, and it’s quite a prominent focus at the moment, so we’d like to take the time and send a message to the members of Galeres. We currently house two Battleteams, Soulfire Strike Team and Dark Forge. Both teams possess an ambitious teamwork ethic, a constant drive, and a dedication to and kinship with their members, their brothers and sisters in arms.

When you join a Battleteam, you sign up to stand for something. You sign up to uphold an ideal and an elite attitude. You sign up to have comrades, to have someone at your back and be at someone else’s. Sometimes, it may seem otherwise. Sometimes, it may seem lackluster. Not so. These teams are what you make them, fictionally, technically, and personally. In the past, they have been made greats. It is your time to shape their present, if you so choose to be part of it.

We strongly recommend that if you want to be part of a team like this, that you speak to the respective Battleteam Leaders of each unit. Talk to them, get their ideas and a general jist of what you could bring to the table in joining the team. Spots are now unlimited, and, as our Consul hints, increased BT activity may lead the way for some new teams in the near future. Get involved if you’re interested!

Competitions News:

As y’all know, we’re in a nice, cruising-along period of downtime before the final DC round. Delightfully enough, this means there’s lots of stress-free, fun competitions going on all around, from fictions to much-asked-for flash games.

Some of you will have seen comps running specifically for your Battleteams, which is epic, because the BTs are awesomeness. Besides those on a smaller scale, we have Brotherhood-wide comps ongoing, courtesy of the Voice and Fist offices. We encourage you to check them all out, and to get involved and have some fun with your friends!

Heads up: since the not-so-new-but-still-shiny site is, well, amazing, there’s this whole Competitions section where you can easily find all the comps currently running, instead of searching all over for them and tracking down email chains. Still, we’ll help you out anyways. Have some links:

And finally, a small but vital address to all of you, our dear Galerens: what do you want? If you (still) haven’t noticed, we’ve got some chill time. I am normally always around with the open door policy as all of you know, feel free to hit me up even if you just want a chat it is more than welcomed. As for the main thoughts this time, we are closing in on the final chapter of the Dark Crusade. But what I want to say is that since I have been Quaestor, I am proud of all of you. I see you guys rocking up and wanting that drive, wanting to get involved and pushing yourself to do the best. Each of you are a honest pleasure to get to know and continue to work with, I think of Galeres not as its leader, but as the guy that speaks for all of you. Together we can continue to achieve great things not only for yourselves but for the House and Clan. I appreciate all the support from the members of this great house, but also the support from my summit, my right hand Atyiru continues to improve day to day, as well as grow in her role. Honestly half the stuff she does is out of the way and behind the scenes, but its there and always think of you guys. My BTLs that keep the teams rolling up and getting involved. I think I’ve mentioned coming to talk to us and communicating in well...each report...so, a lot; but it’s just because I mean it, ladies and gents. ;) We’re here for you all (do you think we stay up late writing reports because its fun? Uh no. We do it because it’s sexy, obviously). I’m glad to be your AED and work along with Stu, the rest of the Arcona Summit, and most of all, with you guys. The best part of all of this is having a loveable, semi-speshul, geeky group of friends to call on, and generally seeing said geek-bros and geek-hoes happy. So, thanks for being generally awesome and working hard. When you guys strive for something, we have the joy of rewarding you for what you’ve earned.
