The Dark Crusade

The Crusade is finally over. In what will go down possibly as the quickest grading turn around in Dark Brotherhood history, the results are in and the dust has settled. Ziost came down to a tie between Arcona and Plagueis Special Forces. In the event of a tie breaker, like I had mentioned in my last report, everything came down to participation numbers. Despite Arcona pulling off our best ratio yet, 2.25, Plagueis managed a 2.93 ratio. Plagueis wins Ziost, giving them 5 planets to our 4, and thus the overall win for the Dark Crusade. For second place, we beat out Taldryan with our overall participation ratio from the entire Crusade.

Despite the loss, there are a few things I want to take from our efforts on Ziost that should be noted. First of all, we amassed a total of 127 entries. On Krayiss II, at the beginning of the Dark Crusade, we had 120 entries. That was on 7 events, with a much larger roster. Our 127 entries comes with only 4 events available this time around! Take a second to let that sink in. If you break it down, that comes out to us getting a 17.1 ratio of Entries:Events on Krayiss II. On Rhelg, we managed 30.1.

Ziost: 31.75

That’s right. In the final chapter of the Dark Crusade, Arcona rose to the challenge and put out our best performance to date. We rallied together, as one, and I could not be more proud of each and every one of you who stepped up the plate. It makes everything I’ve done the past year worth it. What’s more, we can still get better. This is not Arcona’s ceiling- because Arcona has no such thing. Arcona’s rise didn’t happen over night. It is something that has grown and grown over the past four years, slowly but steadily. We may dip slightly, but our momentum is always forward and upwards towards the peak of the mountain.

We will get better, and we will continue to rise. This is not the end for Arcona by a far shot. Consider it another beginning.

Make sure if you see Trouty, Cethgus, and Timmy that you thank them for their heroic efforts in representing Arcona. It is a true testament to how pound for pound, we have some of the best competitors in the entire Brotherhood in Clan Arcona.

Recognition

I want to take a minute to thank every single member of Arcona who did at least 1 event on Ziost.

These names I have listed above all deserve to be enshrined for being a part of Arcona’s legacy in the history books. Each and every one of you has proven your loyalty to the Shadow Clan, and shown that united as one we are a force to be reckoned with. Thank you all for the hustle. Your actions will not go unnoticed or unrewarded.

In the coming week, the Arcona Summit will be reviewing everyone’s performances from the Dark Crusade, and tackling the process of properly awarding and promoting those who have earned it. This includes Battlefield Promotions which will highlight a select few Arconans who really turned up the heat and showed their mettle on the Battlefield!

Arcona Projects

Right, Arcona Projects will be starting back up again this week. I, your illustrious Proconsul, will continue to take point, and we will use these projects to help highlight what aspects of Arcona we need to update, revise, or expand. This also includes #arcona_rp, which will continue to operate on a BETA level as we continue to test out the activity.

I am going to be contacting all of the teams that have signed up within the next week, in order to check-in and get the wheels turning again. There was some strong progress in certain areas, and some not-so-strong progress in other areas, so we’ll be working together to get things accomplished.

This is a tremendous opportunity for our members to shine, to demonstrate their own creativity and talents while making a lasting impact on Arcona. If you are interested in being part of a team, and are not currently signed up, please let me know. Additionally, if you have an idea for a project, talk to me, and we’ll figure something out. New Battleteams / R3boot 3.0

A lot of you will recall me mentioning that if I was impressed with Arcona’s participation numbers, I’d look into the possibility of opening more Battleteams. I am happy to say that after looking over our participation numbers, I would like to open 2 additional Battleteams: one for each House.

If you have an idea for a Battleteam and feel that you have what it takes to step into the role of Battleteam Leader, please submit a proposal including the following information attached or included with your application.

The Responsibilities of a Battleteam Leader are:

• Assisting the Summit with everyday operations
• Assisting with the recognition of team members accomplishments (awards/promotions)

Once we have established Arcona’s new Battleteams, I will be executing Project R3boot (pronounced re-boot, for the uneducated). R3boot will be a complete reset of Battleteam assignments. This means that you all will be able to choose which Team you would like to be a part of. As there will be 2 new teams I feel this is the fairest way to fill these new teams without feeling like we are stealing members from other teams. For certain cases, we will look into cross-House transfers, but remember that a discussion with both House leaders is required in this scenario as well as the Consul and Proconsul.

Ask The Wally

In #arcona I asked for members to submit questions they might have in regards to the future of Clan Arcona, and apparently life, the universe, and everything. Sadly, I can’t give out DC’s for these (thanks, Howie!) so just take pleasure in being featured in the Clan Report? Word.

Valtiere/Mark both ask: When do we spend our fleet points?

Wally Answers: The plan has been, and will continue to be this:

• Step 1. Gather Fleet Points.
• Step 2. ...
• Step 3. Profit.

We will continue to store up as many points as we can to help enhance our fleet and personnel in preparation for Eleventh Great Jedi War. My goal is to make a bunch of huge additions prior to the beginning of the war, and using what small competitions come up in the time between to continue to gather more points with what we currently have. These decisions will be handled ultimately by myself, as I am the acting Shadow Lord.

Timmy asks: What does Arcona have planned operation wise now that the DC is over?

Wally answers: Each of the Houses will be running their own sets of weekly and monthly activties, and once we've had some time to recover and after the holidays we have a few Clan-wide ideas for "Operations".

Ood asks: How do you view the current ratio of leadership to members in Arcona?

Wally answers: This is actually an awesome question, as this came up in a bigger discussion about leadership in the DB. For Arcona, we currently have 11 members of the Arconan Summit. On top of this we have the Arconae- who act as advisors to the Consul. Does this seem like overkill to most people? Probably. Most people don’t do what I do, however. That goes for my fellow Consul, Malik, or any of the iQUA’s in the other units. Arcona had 40 members submit at least 1 event to the Dark Crusade. This stands to reason that we have 40 active members out of our current roster of 55. In my eyes, 11 is a perfect amount of leaders, with the Arconae and veterans also stepping in to help when they can. This higher number of leadership positions ensures that even with time zone differences, there is always at least 1 summit member available to the members at all hours. Our set up has also proven to be working, though of course nothing is perfect. I could also point to our 18 DJK's in the past year as a sign that our system seems to be working. :D

Ood also asks: Boxers or briefs?

Wally Answers: Boxer-briefs, obviously. Best of both worlds, there is no alternative.
