Well, after a rather shaky time for me in the DJB, it's really great to be back as part of the Plagueis leadership team. As you may have noted, I've kept up the general format of my Rollmaster reports from my first stint in the position. Congratulations on all the various award winners in the past month. I must say that I like having to work hard on this section, that means y'all are doing a great job bringing in the shiny. Good work, and keep it up.
Actually, that's the main theme of what I have to say to the unit. Of late we've gained a lot of momentum and positive energy. We've triumphed in the crusade, we've gained a new crop of leaders that have given new life to the unit, and we've gained quite a few energetic new journeymen. We need to keep this going if we're going to get across the finish line to the clanhood. It would be easy to rest on our laurels and get complacent. That's not my style, and it's not our way. We need to keep pushing and have fun while we're doing it.
I mentioned that we just got a new crop of journeymen in the past couple months. First, I'm excited by such energetic and enthusiastic additions to the Ascendant House. They have all been progressing well and hopefully by this time next month I'll be talking about a new stable of Knights. Quick shout out while on this topic. It goes to Zednich who attained knighthood in about a month and a half, which, even under the new guidelines, is still quite impressive.
There has been some talk about reforming the Master/Student program inside the house. While I'll definitely be making some tweaks, particularly to how masters are held accountable, I don't foresee any major structural changes in the near future. The one thing I do want to extend to the entire house is the use of our Promotion Path documents, which are the brain child of my former master, Selika (f.k.a Solus). Essentially these documents mirror the tools the summit and masters have to monitor a student's progress and lay out what needs to be done in a succinct way. It also allows us to recommend a path for a member based on their own interests. I know these documents work because, well, it really helped me when I was going through the process. Masters, if you have a student that you need one of these documents for, let me know and I'll get one set up.
This month's musical interlude is Burn by Ellie Goulding . I think this song is rather applicable to where we stand right now as a unit. We do have the fire, and we need to keep it burning.
This month, I decided to farm the hard and arduous work of trawling YouTube for just the right video to you, the members. While there were a number of good submissions, the winner is...our fearless leader Montressor!
Behold, The Dancing Bug
