Greetings Folks,
Welcome to the weekly Aedile report, where I fill you in on the goings of the Dark Brotherhood, and throw you a couple more juicy little tidbits to keep you coming back for more! Anyways, onward and upward we go.
Taldryan has seen a recent mini-influx of new members. I would like to just formally and publically welcome our newest members. Jarith Krasa has recently rejoined from the rogues. A couple of new recruits have also come in, Deirdra was recruited into Taldryan by Mav, and Galator Shadow has joined us thanks to the efforts of Malfrost Xeon.
Welcome to you all, and we look forward to your progress within our ranks!
The Brotherhood is in a state of mourning. Our beloved Herald Orv was callously murdered recently. The identity his murderer is still a complete unknown, as are the reasons behind their motives. Are we dealing with a traitor to the Brotherhood? Is this a continuation of the hostilities that erupted between the Dark Brotherhood and the One Sith during the Dark Crusades? Well, nobody is sure, because you haven't written the ending yet.
The Voice is currently hosting a competition to Hunt down Orv's Killer, and bring him to Justice. Or identify him. Or something. As Darth Pravus has noted in his recent update, the competition details are vague in some places, but they are intentionally so. Uses the freedom afforded to you and take the time to write an epic story for this DB Wide Competition.
In other news, it may comfort you to know that despite his untimely demise, a certain roguishly handsome gentlemen was lucky enough to oversee Orv's final rest.
Apparently, Pravus isn't content to just worry about tracking down Orv's killer though, he's also pretty hell bent on making sure our people get trained up in combat for future conflicts. Which is to say he's announced that there will soon be a Tournament in the ongoing ACC Beta Test where we can hone our skills.
It's also a great opportunity for you to add your input to the ACC that the Voice/ACC/Coding team has been working so diligently on, and earn double the standard rate of Clusters of Ice in recognition and thanks for your efforts.
One of the most long lived institutions of the Dark Brotherhood is the Grand Master's Royal Guard. It's been a part of the fabric of the DB for as long as I have been here, which is an embarrassing length of time we shan't mention. However, of late, there have been lots of grumblings about some of the former rules and policies in it.
Thankfully, under the guidance of the Fist, we have seen the GMRG turn a new corner and usher in changes that have allowed me to see a flurry of activity in gaming like I haven't seen outside a vendetta in a long long time. I'd encourage everyone to read Valhavoc's linked report, and catch up on the changes, and then saunter over to #DBGaming and see if you can start grabbing some of those CF's. Maybe in a handy pazaak game
One of the things I remember from my time on the Dark Council is how much fun it was to work on super-secret projects, and one of the things that I have always loved as a regular member is trying to sniff out what the DC is up to before it happens. Thankfully along those regards, half of this message isn't super-secret. In his recent report the Grand Master referenced work being done on revamping and updating the Lightsaber Guide, and has said he is looking for volunteers to begin work on the Hand to Hand Guide. If you think you can offer assistance to him on this project, email him at [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and ask if you can help out. He might grill you a little bit, but if you've got the right stuff, I'm sure he'd love to have you on the team.
The more cryptic hint that has filtered down to us recently was in the form of a vague mention of some society and not so subtle spoiler alert in Pravus' News Post. What is this one all about? I have absolutely no clue, since we're currently investigating Orv's Death, I hope it's like that Sherlock Fan club where they come up with conspiracy theories about how Sherlock (You do watch Sherlock, don't you?) didn't die... and maybe mangoes. I'm honestly not sure, but I'm excited to see what happens!
In this section, I'm going to give a brief outline of some of the other news that has popped up on the site, or from around the web, but maybe on their own are not enough to get their own little headline.
Just in case there was any hint of rebellion in the ranks, I've been told we have to make sure that you guys have enough to do so you don't get any funny ideas. Thankfully, there is a crapload of competitions available for everyone to do, including a couple special competitions hosted by the old bastard's in the Home, and the previously mentioned Voice competition. So, get out there and make Howie proud, by doing all the things!
You can also check out a bunch of other competition offerings from around big wide DB.
So, you've made it this far grasshopper. This bodes well for your entry for this, the return of the RTFR. We've been taking a little break from it, but now we're back in full effect. The competition details can be found here, where it will instruct you on what you need to do to participate in this round.
That's it for this week guys. Stay Classy Taldryan.
