Even though I'm not in the GMRG, I think it looks good. The only concern I have is with how members lose points for not participating in GMRG activities. It's a good idea, but will a member on a LoA still lose points? Other than that, it looks great. Good job Khobai.

I have only 2 issues with this. First, GMRG only medals. A long time ago, Jac said that there would never be medals specific to one group - neither Order nor society. So why does this change all of a sudden? I'm not in favour of this.

Writing requirements in a gaming group. Well, personally, I'm fine with this. However, there are several people out there who only want to game. It doesn't seem fair to them.

I logically love the stressing of team play. The Element, Cell and circle idea rocks. THe loyalty thing is clever as well. I suppose LOAs, when announced, shouldn't be a problem, they never were with former GMRG set ups based on similar ideas.

But I think "circle" will be the new name for the BTs when Rebirth is finally alive (yeah yeah, I know I know). So maybe another name there would make sense.

One question though. Bodyguards get assigned. Does this mean DCers will not be able to pick their guards anymore? Assuming they pick from the qualified people, of course. If this has been answered before, I missed the answer. I know BF asked something similar on the MB before but that thread got too confusing for me.

But people covet their medals... and the GMRG needs to develop incentives to get people to join and contribute towards the further success of the society as a whole.

I really like what's going on with the GMRG. I especially like the Shadow War idea and the story behind it. Good stuff. Curious though, how would the medals be an incentive for people to get involved in the society since it's invitation only? Simply getting invited is incentive enough, no?

Well thats just one of the ways you can get promoted- you can go up the first ranks the normal way (i.e. being active and earning Loyalty) just doing the story is an instant promotion so both roads are catered for.

Same kind of deal as with offering people either the "be active" road or the "do SA courses" road from APP->PRT.

The GMRG has always been invite-only as long as I can remember, that obviously isn't enough of an incentive. So I am seeking alternative ways to motivate people to join and sustain the GMRG.

Any GMRG competition medal that gets created... will not only be for the winners of Guardsmen vs. Guardsmen matches but also for people who are not in the GMRG who manage to beat a Guardsmen.

The GMRG merit medal is a bit more controversial... we'll have to see what Jac's final word is on that :P

For any of this to truly work though, the GMRG has to aquire a status similar to the old Tau. Not just anyone could be accepted and you had to pull your weight. The setup outlined in the Codex is well thought out and looks like it could finally make the GMRG work.
