_Dark Sabre looked at over the crowd of gathered Dark Jedi. Every Clan had been invited to send representatives and the newly appointed Guard Captain was pleased with the turnout. There was a rustle of robes as each warrior took his or her seat and settled themselves in the provided chairs.

"Welcome," the Epis began, skipping the usual pomp and circumstance. "A bracket has been posted at the back of the auditorium. Each of you has been placed in the tournament randomly in either the Lyspair or Shadowlands Regionals. Two shuttles are waiting to take you to your destinations."

With that, he left the stage and as quickly as they had seated themselves, everyone rose and rushed to view the hologram of the bracket and size up their opponents._

Rules:

1. All participants in the competition are expected to follow the Rites of Combat and other rules.

2. Matches must be played by the deadline or both combatants will be disqualified. To file an appeal with an excuse or feasible reason why the match could not be played (i.e., your opponent did not respond to e-mails, was not on IRC, refused to play) send an e-mail to myself [[Log in to view e-mail addresses]] and Khobai [[Log in to view e-mail addresses]].

3. Matches should be arranged over IRC if at all possible. If not, then through e-mail.

4. Follow each round's specific rules. If you do not feel you can follow the rules or will not play the settings, then e-mail me immediately so someone else can be substituted in.

5. Report games to me [[Log in to view e-mail addresses]] with scores, game, and settings.

6. Games played for the Open CANNOT count for Gaming Nights. CFs will be rewarded for these games separately.

Apologies to those who were not in the first 16 and did not get to participate in the ladder. The next Open will give priority to these people.

Round 1 Settings: 1 game sabers, 1 game guns, 1 game of which ever score was closer (i.e., Kraval plays me sabers and wins 5-0, we play guns and I win 5-3, we play guns again; if there is a tie then one person will decide guns/sabers and another FF/NF).

Matches must be in by Tuesday. I'm going to be an asshole about this, just so everyone knows now.

Winners will be determined by the best of these three games. Default settings for guns are FF, pickups allowed unless both players decide otherwise. Default settings for sabers is NF.
