New Website Layouts!
Hello Everyone!
I am very pleased to announce today that we have some new layouts for the website now up and running! We wanted to get a new layout up for this time of year, and Muz was kind enough to get me started with a design. I added to it and coded it up...now it's ready for you!
The new layout expands to be usable for desktops set up to 1800x1600 resolution. This will allow a lot more real estate to work with as far as design goes for us. I have also implemented a fun new menu system. For those of you who have had privy to the development site, this is the menu tool that was built into the PHP Rebirth site. I am open to suggestions for additions to the menu, btw.
I also have dramatically reduced the load time of the DB website. I completely re-coded the method we used for selecting the layout for the site and as such, I was able to cut out almost 100k in file downloads for every page load. The new method will also let us more readily expand the layout selection in the future.
I have also opened up the ability for people to choose the CodeGorilla layout option. It's nothing fancy -- just a layout that has most of the graphics removed. I made it a while ago so I could surf the DB site at school without the hecklers heckling.

NOTE Some of you will have some problems with the old site layouts for a few days. I deleted most of the files that used to be used, and so if your ISP caches a lot of the websites you go to (aka, sends you an old copy so it doesn't have to download a new one every time) you may get some funkiness.
The new layouts should work for you though.
Sorry for the trouble. SHould go away in a few days.

looks nice. one request: could we see a darker version of the exodus layout? I'd very much welcome it with less fancy colors, too. :)
I have to agree with Korras. I -really- like the new "Exodus"-style layout, but a darker one would be much, much cooler. All of the layouts are pretty decent, but I do like the "stretched" look of the Exodus-style layout; not as much wasted space on the sides.
And, the drop menu is pretty fun, too.
I've been using the CodeGorilla style for months now hehe
Unless I'm just not finding it, the links for the various blogs are gone. Could anyone point me in the right direction?

This scared me for a second. I was so used to the old site, and I log on and its red! Ah well, looks a lot more professional. Now I gotta find where everything is...

I love the new layout. Absolutely love it. It'll take some getting used to, with the new shortcuts/menus and all, but that's just a little bump in the road. I agree with Bf amd Korras though; a darker colour for the layout would be really nice.
