Epilogue
Two months after the battle in the Dark Hall, most, if not all, of the Brotherhood's Dark Jedi had moved on from the conflict. The Sixth Great Jedi War, as it was called, had faded from their minds as rebuilding efforts made way for expansion efforts. Noted amongst the clans was that, opposite of prior wars, the clans themselves sustained little damage in the fight, relatively speaking. Intelligence has now proven that most Consuls wisely held back their forces for the opportunistic moment that never came: the destruction of both Grand Masters and the chance to take control of the entire Dark Council infrastructure. While there were some choice casualties in the war and destruction of resources pushed the Brotherhood back a few months, most Dark Jedi simply waited for the moment that one Jac would kill the other...
..and one Jac did just that. The Brotherhood at large has since stopped wondering which of the two Grand Masters won; rumor has it that Jac himself doesn't even know. Interviews conducted by the Dark Voice staff have shown that either he is not telling, or he simply does not have the ability to separate the merged entities in his head. What the interviews have shown, however, is the reason for the two entities to begin with: Jac thought he could control a clone of himself and essentially double his productivity. For over a year, the experiment worked. Jac made headway on Antei while the clone went into the far reaches of the galaxy to acquire new resources and allies for the Brotherhood. It wasn't until someone close to Jac betrayed the knowledge of his clone that things went awry; the clone's capture and the resulting trauma relinquished it from the Grand Master's control.
The ensuing battle for control left a bad impression of the Grand Master with many. Immediately after killing his clone, Jac found the Dark Hall surrounded by powerful and angry clan forces. While they had since ceased fighting amongst themselves, Jac was sure that at any moment the clans would turn on him and easily take his head. A politician at heart, the Grand Master acted quickly to head off any insurrection. In exchange for keeping his position, Jac gave to each clan new resources and offered to each Consul a permanent clan seat on the Dark Council. The Dark Lord's clone had amassed some new ships and resources over the past year; it was ironic at best that those efforts were used as a bribe to secure the Grand Master's position at the head of the Brotherhood.
With his Iron Throne secure and an expanded Dark Council waiting for direction, the Grand Master started his renewed tenure by commissioning the reconstruction of the Dark Hall. He also commissioned Dark Council Embassies to be built in each clan system. The Grand Master announced to the Consuls that the Dark Council would place in each system a Platform to be used by visiting Dark Council representatives, but to be run and controlled by each clan. Further, the Grand Master moved to destroy the small insurrections that had formed after the War. As one example, Dark Jedi Master Kaiann, driven insane by the power of the Skin of Fire, fled the Antei system with the powerful artifact. Lord Cotelin commissioned Muz Keibatsu to form a team from the Clans and enact a Blood Hunt for the treacherous Jedi. The Herald returned within weeks, carrying the bloodied and charred Skin of Fire armor. Jac never asked Muz what the outcome was of the battle, whether Kaiann still lived or not. He simply acknowledged a slight nod and smile from the worn out Herald, took the armor and had it stored away where no one, not even himself, could reach it without the Star Chamber's approval.
The Brotherhood has long since moved on from the struggle. The clans took their new ships back to their systems for modification and refitting. The Dark Council has convened to discuss those very clan fleets and the balance of power in the Brotherhood. The Dark Hall renovations went smoothly, and the Dark Council is already focussed on a growing threat in the Outer Rim. As for Lord Cotelin himself, most say that as a whole being he is ever more brutal. Those that know Jac well rest confident that, under his watch, nothing like the Sixth Jedi War will happen again.

A VSD for second place? Those were always very rarely awarded for 1'st Place in a GJW. Hard to believe it's being given out to a Clan which only achieved 2'nd. I guess we've suddenly lowered the standards. The crappier the GJW is, the higher the ship rewards will be. :P
We don't base the awards off of whether the plot was good or not -- we base it off of the activity and the contributions of the members. Despite a lacking plot, this GJW did see the highest numbers of participants, submissions and some of the highest quality submissions of any GJW.
GJW awards have, at best, been drastically inconsistent over the past ten years. From GJWs that gave out something to first place only, to Clan fueds that gave nothing, to GJWs that give out mid-range stuff to RoSs that give out just ground vehicles -- no one has ever developed a standard for this. That is why for the past few weeks we've been starting that process.
We are starting the process of developing a point system from which clans can modify their fleets based on a pre-defined model system. All of the Consuls and other DC members seem to like the idea and this week we will start the process of putting it together.
This point system and the expansion of the GJW awards fits well into the gradual evolution of the DB into a wargaming system where ships will come and go. While CNS may have a VSD now, for example, they should need to do well in the next set of wars, lest it get destroyed.
So yes, our standards are changing, but for the better and more consistent approach.
Besides, CNS worked their asses off for the VSD. I think they deserve it.
A VSD was also an award for 2nd place in the last GJW as well. Tarentum just opted for several smaller ships instead of the one big one, so this is isn't the first time a VSD has been available for 2nd place.
The moral of the story is and always will be: Taldryan kicks ass. Always. wtfpwnd.
Moving on. :P
I like the "Those that known Jac well rest confident that, under his watch, nothing like the Sixth Jedi War will happen again" part of it :D
But for how long will we have Jac watching over us?
Yeah...I didn't know that until after the fact. I'm done. :P
"Those that know Jac well rest confident that, under his watch, nothing like the Sixth Jedi War will happen again."
Wait, I thought this was all Jac's fault in the first place. :P
Most of us blame it on Kaiann. :P Hence, the Blood Hunt issued on him.
In the immortal words of some great Dark Jedi, " We [Taldryan] pwn, You suck"
but in the spirit of true sportsmenship, congrads to Tarentum and Arcona, for gaining respectible prizes as well as coming close to challenging our supremacy!!!
~DJK Vodo~
Tarentum? =P
Tal - good job guys, you earned it. ;)
"Besides, CNS worked their asses off."
True. So do Lucius, Duga, and I get capships, too? :D
"but in the spirit of true sportsmenship, congrads to Tarentum and Arcona, for gaining respectible prizes as well as coming close to challenging our supremacy!!!"
I love it how people just try and pretend that CNS didn't get an extremely close second and thus actually challenge Taldryan somewhat. Ah well. Congrats to you Taldryan guys for winning- but next time, we're gonna getcha :D
Ha, you think you can beat us? We let you stay close to us so you'd think you had a chance of winning. Just wait till the next GJW, we'll crush you again. It's all in the Taldryan Plan for Galactic Domination (tm).
My humble opinion:
I don't care if Naga Sadow "only" got second place. I don't even care about the fictional (!) ships that were given out in a fictional story in an online fan club.
What I care about is that so many people took part - throughout all clans - and hopefully enjoyed it. Not everything went perfectly, but this is something that can be worked on. I do believe some people are actually able to learn from mistakes. ;) Although some appear not to be able to do so :D, but feel free to proof us all wrong.
Many had a lot of fun in this event. We exchanged drawn pictures, talked about ideas, read each other stories. Sometimes people were down when they didn't place and yet there was a lot of support from others to cheer them up and make them go on. They even supported people if they felt as if their contribution was of poor quality.
Those are the moments I appreciate most about this GJW.
And now my congratulations go out to the following clans in alphabetical order:
Arcona
Naga Sadow
Plagueis
Scholae Palatinae
Taldryan
Tarentum
Oh yes, thats a list of all clans :D
And Taldryan: Big big congratulations for the first place! cheer
I hope you will throw a huge (fictional :D ) party for everyone. Without the other 5 clans you wouldn't have anyone to compete with and make it to place 1. :)
Xia Long (Sildrin Sadow)
