As taken from the Official Site:
What's in a name? A great deal, indeed, for those who choose to take that final, fateful step and join the dark side. Each Dark Lord of the Sith must leave behind their old identity -- and old name -- in order to assume a moniker befitting their fearsome new status. As it was for Darth Bane, Darth Sidious, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, and a long line of dark disciples before them...so it is now, for Jacen Solo. But what name shall he take to seal his allegiance to the dark side? How shall he be hailed by those who honor, respect, and fear him? Now, YOU have a chance to be part of Star Wars history. Because this time, this privilege of naming the newest Sith Lord...is YOURS.
One Grand Prize winner will have his or her Sith name featured as the official character name in Star Wars: Legacy of the Force: Sacrifice by Karen Traviss. The Grand Prize Winner will be recognized on the acknowledgement page of the aforementioned book.

Wow. Nice stuff.
Do we get an award in the DB if we win? :P
Darth TheNJOSucks.
Darth theNJOsucks is good, but not very good considerting that the NJO ended with the Unifying Force and the Defeat of the Yuuhzan Vong, and this naming is for the legacy series...
fyi...
but here's an idea, did they mention somewhere in the rules that an organization could not submit for the name? If so, we could get together as a group, and try to make our presence made as a whole, get the Brotherhood into the mainstream of star wars fandom!
Darth Cotelin would be nice.... Oh wait...
I totally just submitted my name. Buahahhaa.
Yeah, I think if a DB member wins (and proves it?), s/he should get something for being awesome.
Uhm I think it's quite obvious that Darth Krayt is Jacen Solo. Just look at all of the evidence: Krayt has the same goals or order, Krayt has been in suspended animation for sometime before being awoken to take over the Empire in the Legacy Era, Krayt has to go into suspended animation because he's old and getting weak, Krayt knows how effective the Yuuzhan Vong's Vonduun crab armor is against lightsabers.
The following is an excerpt from Wookieepedia:
A humanoid male, his identity and his past was something he hid under Yuuzhan Vong-bioengineered vonduun crab armor, and kept secret even from most of his own Sith companions.
Krayt was born into a Galaxy deeply wounded by the Galactic Civil War and the Yuuzhan Vong War, leading him to believe that the Galaxy was fractured and weak, and that a single will was needed to make it whole and strong again. Equipped with knowledge gained from Sith holocrons found on the ancient Sith burial world of Korriban, he reestablished the cult under his leadership and pledged to reunify the Galaxy according to the will of the Sith. Unlike the previous incarnation, however, Krayt abolished the somewhat disastrous Rule of Two, Darth Bane's ancient diktat commanding that there could be only two Sith at any one timea Master and an apprentice. Instead, there would be the Rule of Onethat One being the Sith Order itself, under which there would be many Sith.
For more than a hundred years, Krayt grew and strengthened the Sith on Korriban, surreptitiously planning to bring its vision of peace and order to the Galaxy. There is some confusion as to how he managed this apparent longevity, although a private conversation (c. 130 ABY) between Krayt and his most trusted lieutenant, Darth Wyyrlok III, reveals that he had been in stasis in the past (though there is no way to determine if he did so once, or more than once, or how long that stasis was maintained), which could possibly answer how he managed to live for a century or more. Whatever methods he used, they appear not to have been without consequences. Krayt was living beyond his standard lifespan and his body began to fail him, his condition kept at bay by healing trances.
I think that pretty much establishes what Jacen Solo's Darth name is. IMHO
Just remember that wookiepedia isn't actually considered cannon in and of itself. It's mostly fan-submitted content so people like SuperShadow can post whatever they want and if someone doesn't edit the info then it'll stay up.
If there aren't citations for cannon material in the article I'd take it with a grain of salt.
The thing to bear in mind here is, they are posting the top 5 selections of their choosing in January. From there it's a month of fan voting to determine the Grand Prize Winner.
If anyone from here gets in the top 5, we need to all band together and vote for that member and try to push their name over the top.
I don't think Krayt is Jacen Solo, Tron. If you read the Krayt source a little more closely you'd see it too, I think.
Krayt was born into a Galaxy deeply wounded by the Galactic Civil War and the Yuuzhan Vong War
That line implies that both the Galactic Civil War and Yuuzan Vong War had both occurred before Krayt was born, thus he was born into a galaxy ripped apart by those wars. Jacen Solo was born during the waning years of the Galactic Civil War and fought in the Yuuzan Vong War, so if you follow that logic through he's too old to be Krayt.
Dunno where the bold came from in my last comment, I never used any bold tags. Must be a database hiccup.
You could take the afore mentioned quote to mean he was born during these times. Both wars happened in and around the same times. Jacen was born and grew up in the waning years of the civil wars and was at his prime during the Vong wars. It could well be that Krayt and Jacen are one and the same.
I myself believe what I just said is all crap. Why would SW.com be asking for people to send in a name if they hadn't already established that Krayt and Jacen were one. I know they could be pulling our legs but, I reckon they are really giving people a legitimate chance to be involved in SW lore.
Also, the idea about a push for votes if one of our own does make it to the final 5 is greta. Perhaps we could even get some crappy shiny to entice more people to take five seconds of there life to click a button.
I'm a bit disappointed theres no comments field when you submit a name... the better names usually are the ones that aren't too obvious and have a more subtle meaning, but chances are the authors wouldn't get it :P
I just chose a name from Greek History.
but what i thought sucks, is that if you read the fine print, it says you have to be 18 to submit. i think i put i was 18 when i signed up to starwars.com, but im not sure. ill try anyways.
