This probably comes as no surprise but Jac has asked me to resign as CoG. The truth is I lost interest in the GMRG a while ago. Recently I thought I could pull out of my inactive slump but it turns out I'd rather devote more time to real life instead. The DB on the whole doesn't really hold the same appeal for me that it once did. Becoming CoG was sort of a last ditch effort on my part to make the DB fun again for me and thats why I was so reluctant to resign last year.
Braecen and Malidir have been instructed to fight to the death for everyone's amusement and to determine my successor.

I'll make sure all the belated medals get awarded. Except some people might not get their medals anyway because I hate them :P

I for one would like to see the GMRG go back to how it was back when I started, all members that were active in any or all Gaming fields would get an invite by the GMRG recruitment scout and rank would be based on GMRG comp activity.
I personally would never base awards or rank on how much I like a person, it should all be based on merit and it should be made fun for all GMRG members.
We should go back to making the GMRG a desired goal for non-GMRG members to be a part of and a desired goal for the already members to make rank, we should remember that goals we offer to our members should be fun and challemging while keeping an elite pride that being a member of the Royal Guard means.
I try to run the DBPA in this way and trust me I have had many members in our PA that I was not very fond of yet after teaming up with them 99% of the times we all became good friends and share a sence of team spirit.
Now that Khobai has stepped down and a new Commander is on the horizon, I would like to once again be part of the DJB's elite, like I was when I was a Soverieng Protector, So to whoever becomes Commander can expect me to try out for the GMRG.

I just want to post a few comments since I received several messages of wild speculation on mIRC concerning the GMRG.
I want to thank Khobai for his long term as CoG.
The position of CoG is not open for applications nor will it be.
The GMRG is not closing down.
The GMRG is being redesigned. I have sent an initial draft to Jac and he has given me his final comments. Once I make a few final changes we will present it to the Dark Council and the membership at large.
The GMRG is a gaming society at its heart. It should be based on objective criteria (gaming) and not subjective invite systems.
The new system will honor the work of current GMRG members by carrying over some of their loyalty points.
If you have questions, ship them to me.

Anyway, I hope you all change the GMRG into something that we gamers would be proud to be part of. I've not bothered joining or asking for an 'invite' since it offered nothing I couldn't do anyway or a status that it gave.

Anyways, people need to actually sit back and think what Khobai did do, even if it was little :P He took something that was totally dead, and almost a joke and made it active and worth something for awhile.

When will you all learn that it's never going to work, and just disband it. It serves no purpose. It's worthless. It is a wasted effort, and it always has been a wasted effort. It should have been disbanded three years ago.
Someone comes in every time with a new hip idea that's going to make the GMRG "work", and it never does. It never has and it never will. The most you'll ever get a small speck of activity for a short period of time, and then it'll die out once more. It doesn't matter who runs it, or if nobody runs it. It's never going to work.
If you think otherwise, you are a fool. =P
