Thirty years after moviegoers first traveled to a galaxy far, far away, the Star Wars epic space fantasy still enthralls audiences everywhere with the journey of Anakin Skywalker, his son Luke and the assorted villains, heroes, creatures and sidekicks that surround them. On this 30th anniversary, The History Channel presents Star Wars Legacy, which shows viewers the subtext behind the fantasy and how Star Wars tapped into the mythology and political history of the entire planet to touch our innermost hopes, dreams and fears. The separate one-hour special Star Wars Tech asks leading scientists to explore how current science is catching up to the technology of Star Wars, from lightsabers to droids and even the formidable Death Star.
History Channel, May 28 at 8pm/7c. It's a 3 hour special.

Sounds awesome! I'm a History/Discovery/Science/NG/Military channel person anyway, so I'm definitely catching this joint. Thanks!
<3 Science Channel, especially their space shows :D
This sounds awesome, though, not to mention it shows just as huge Star Wars is. You don't see the silly Star Trek getting something like this, and three hours too :P
Yes, Star Trek Beyond the Final Frontier on History Channel, although said to be made for the 40th anniversary of the show, only showed us a bunch of people auctioning for the props and costumes. A very disappointing show. I was thinking if they ever made a special program about Star Wars. I guess my wish just came true. :)
