Hey Everyone,
Clan Tarentum's Korvyn has sent me the following news post about X-Fire's new Clan/Guild fuction. Please take a look at his message below for details on how to join the DB via X-Fire.
Greetings,
While many of you are aware of X-Fire, I realized that not everyone has been taking advantage of this great tool for the gamers in the DJB. The Program is much like an Instant Message program but is designed to search for and seek out servers in which to play on and allows you to see what those on your friends list are playing and join them. It has support for all the games the Brotherhood uses with the exception of Tie Fighter. The link to find out more is: http://www.xfire.com/
Recently they have added a function to create Guilds and Clans on the program. I have created one for the Brotherhood which can be joined at: http://www.xfire.com/clans/djb/
All members of the clan will be automatically added to your friends list. This can also be used for the individual units and clans in the brotherhood such as the one I created for Tarentum at: http://www.xfire.com/clans/tarentum/ Hope you guys Like this and it can be implemented to it fullest potential.
In Darkness,
Korvyn,
Guardian, House Tridens of Tarentum

... just going to chuck this out there .. but with this new feature being added to xfire it strikes me as a great opportunity to start up some DJB vs Clan/Guild competitions on the supported platforms?
Now...not to be negative, or offensive, or anything along those lines. However...
why do people think that DB vs random gaming clans = a good thing?
Because they are stupid. No offense. :P
Not to sound like i'm weaving my tongue around Nite's small intestine, but hes right. :P
What are we going to play? JA? JO? I mean they are kind of dying breeds these days, as is Battlefield, well actually neither BF really picked up.
Then you have the dedicated JA/JO/BF clans that are out there, and if they are anything like CSS clans, they play every single day, non stop, constantly.
Yeah, but I think the thing there is that if you refuse to play them on the grounds you'll lose, then lose is all you'll ever fucking do :P
The DB membership's mindset is not ready to face those gaming clans over XFire.
There is no way around that. yes, if the DB gets involved in that stuff, they'll lose horrendously, but they won't get better. They'll bitch and whine, and then quit.
I know this because I'm in a clan that occasionally does skirmishes through XFire. We do Guild Wars now, but we used to do CS:S, UT2k3/2k4, and we're about to start up with UT3 (and maybe TF2). I've also been in regular CS clans where the training is like a full-time job. They don't mess around with RP and other nonsense like that out there...they play the game, and they're good at it. And their rules are much different than what the DB membership is used to. Much rougher.
Hell...when I was with the FES, they were amazing JOers and JAers. AMAZING. Yet with them when we hit a public server...we'd get pulverized.
I say again. The DB Membership is not ready to take those kinds of beatings and learn from them. They just aren't.
It's because the clubs so internal. We only fight the same people over and over, who are all inside the club. There arnt really any other clubs who can compete membership wise, and the funny thing is, we usually cant compete skill wise. :P
