Another ICTE has ended with the DB's Dante earning the title of All-Star (his first time I might add). The reason I'm writing this news post is to explain the obvious changes to the ICTE Results sheet, which can be found here at the top.
WARNING: The following will bore you if you don't care about CFs or gaming.
Basically, the old sheet was designed in a way that when you had to add or subtract from the list of participants or matches played you would have to recode some of the excel formulas since they don't automatically change based on how many rows you have. So I started off to fix that and decided to implement some other changes as well. It now has a new layout with the actual statistical information at the top rather than the bottom. Most people are interested in the actual results, not in the record of matches played. I also added a counter next to the platforms so everyone can see which platform is seeing the most activity.
Now, the one that may spark some controversy, though I doubt it will come into play often. The old results sheet had a tab called CF Table, which listed the varying CF points. The original CF system I designed included a weighting for uneven matches. Your 2v1 should not have the same amount of win and loss CFs as your 1v2 as they are technically different game types. If I beat two players in a 1v2, I have (probably) accomplished something greater than if 2 people beat me. This is now reflected in how CFs are awarded. Winning a 2v1 will net you fewer CFs, while losing a 2v1 will get you a few more (we're talking tenths of a CF at this level). And now, winning a 1v2 will earn you more CFs, while losing will get you fewer.
Most people will not notice these changes as they are slight, but you can check them out on the CF Table tab. I will also make available the formulas behind the CF systems, which Pyralis and I designed a long time ago. I'll most likely put this up on the Wiki in the next couple days so you'll be able to read up on it there.
END WARNING.
One final thing I wanted to ask. This is now the second... or possibly third, ICTE using the new Submission Form. I haven't heard anything publicly about it, but if you have issues with the form or think something can be fixed leave a comment and I'll see if it's feasible/worth it... then I'll bug Ben into making it happen.
This ICTE had 50 matches played and a total of 150 CFs earned (not including the double CF bonus for this month). Activity is slowly starting to rise again, but as the Holidays draw nearer I'm sure we'll see another drop. After the Winter break expect to see more updates on the gaming scene.
