I wanted to mention a couple of small changes I made to the rules for ICTE and the RoCs. These changes only affect the participation/match limits of team games. Because of how the rules were written it was unclear as to how team matches should be played after the first three. People weren't sure whether the rule - to have a change of team players to play more matches - was directed at overall participants or per team participants. I've clarified this by changing the rule to:
Rule Changes
ICTE - You may play up to 3 team matches, including uneven matchups, with the same set of people. This means, no matter what the teams are, if it's the same 3+ people you can only play 3 times. If one player is substituted in for another you can play another 3 matches.
RoCs (Gaming Nights) - You may play up to 6 team matches with the same set of people, which means, no matter what the teams are, if it's the same 4/6/8 people you can only play 6 times. If one player is substituted for another you can play another 6 matches.
End Rule Changes
The reason ICTE is limited to 3 is because all ICTE matches are limited to 3 no matter the platform played. Since that rule has been in effect since ICTE began it will remain so. The RoCs, however, have always allowed a maximum of 6 matches, so I decided to update the team gaming to reflect that in an effort to increase team matches.
As for my reasoning, it's quite simple. Under the more ambiguous ruling a group of 3 players could play 9 matches by varying the teams slightly with each 2v1. Seemed a bit overkill to me, especially if it involved more players. As far as I know this has only been a problem once that I'm aware of. Most people have played only 3 matches with the same group of people, I just went ahead and clarified.
Now that that's out of the way the ICTE starts tonight at midnight EST so join #outerrim to get some matches in. If you have questions or comments about these changes email me or leave a comment.

When the participation is this low, i would make steps to increase it, instead of steps which will decrease the overall activity...
As stated these were technically the rules in place before, they were just poorly worded and could be misunderstood. This last ICTE is the only time I've seen the error, so I doubt actually clarifying the rule will hold anyone back. And as far as the RoCs/Gaming Nights - I've actually increased the amount of matches the same group of participants can play from 3 to 6. The RoCs had always stated a max of 3 matches with the same group of participants.
I am just saying perhaps this wasnt a priority problem, when 20 guy playing nowadays =)
Do we get News Postings for who won ICTE anymore? Or is the information being put up somewhere? Not sure if I missed the change.
http://icte.darkjedibrotherhood.com has the results.
I stopped with the constant news posting cause I figured people were getting annoyed and not reading them anyways. Jac is correct, the full results of each ICTE can be found in the Archives section and I do announce the winner(s) in #outterim, but I can start posting an ICTE-related blurb on the news again.
I'd appreciate a quick blurb about it. Activity trackers and what-not, ya know.
For activity tracking you'll definitely want the archived excel files. News report will only really mention the matches played, the CFs rewarded and, if there are any, the members that placed. http://icte.darkjedibrotherhood.com/archive.html has all the info on every participant, which would be the easiest way to track individual activity.
