Hey all,
So since I did my post about the SWG EMU, I've been asked a few times about the creation of a guild that is associated with the DB. After some discussion with FIST, we thought it best to ask what everyone thought, who was interested in it and the like. Let us know.
Thanks.

Let's be honest, SWG is a dying animal just waiting for TOR to end it all, pre-NGE or not. Once Spring 2011 comes around, no ones gives a sh*t. Well.... they haven't cared for at least two years, but now it is finally ending. You shouldn't waste time on out-dated and out-moded equipment when the new stuff is SO much better. Who wants to play an MMO without..... MM?
I agree with Aabsdu. While I probably would join said emu guild and be active for a little while, the second TOR hits shelves, I would never look twice at the Emu again. But thanks for the offer. :P
Well, spring '11 is like almost a year off. Something to do, something to build hype. A year is a long time, SWG (Even though its shite) will fill peoples time instead of just "waiting", and fondling of lightsabers...
No real harm in it really. Not everyone will be interested, and sure it'll flunk when TOR appears but it encourages activity soooo.... :P
It has possibilities. Its true that some time in the spring of next year, TOR will come out, but TOR will also probably be a much different game. While many DB members who don't have much interest in SWG in particular would switch to TOR as soon as it came out, SWG does have a lot of fans still. Why should we care about those outside of the Brotherhood? Well, for one, consider that those who are sticking with the emu are generally diehard Star Wars fans and long time players of SWG. Its been at least a few years since the Combat Upgrade now, and many of them have played for longer than that, not to mention some of those have been with SWG since it came out. Thus they are likely to be a mostly mature group of real Star Wars fans, rather than regular people picking up a shiny new game.
This leads me to my point. The Emu could function as a sort of recruitment tool. I know of at least one guild that has somewhere around 200 members, and I just recently started playing. There's also enough people on it to justify releasing the code for private servers when the emu is finished. Right now everyone is bundled onto one Test Center. Sure, TOR will probably work great for this as well, but as has been said, TOR is still almost a year away, and we don't know for sure how that will go anyway. This is just an idea, and I'm no expert so I don't know how exactly it would work, but it seems like a wealth of possibly recruits and we could always use fresh blood.
Other than that, there's probably not enough of our own people who still enjoy SWG enough to consider playing for any length of time. I would definitely support and participate if we did have a guild, but all things considered I don't know who else would, and I don't know if its worth it to start something we know will probably be doomed when TOR comes around.
Oh and on a side, SWG could be, like, dress rehearsal for our TOR operations so we know those will go smoothly. They're different games, but they're both MMOs.
make a guild in a game people actually play....saying like WoW. There are a lot of people that play it...duh lol. Also, there is a great pool that we can recruit.
Comments are too long to read. I'm in. I'll be looking for something Star Warsy to do until SWOR comes out.
i have just recently been playing swg, it would be cool to have something with the djb but true when tor come out ill probably jump over to that, if my pc can handle it :p
"and fondling of lightsabers..."
But I like doing this :(
Anyways, I'm not gonna join a SWG Emu Guild. I'm sure others would, but I'm done with that crap called SWG.
