Hey guys,

So, turns out that not only is Orv an awesome dude with amazing wiki-fixing, site-fixing, and server-repairing skills, but he can also code. Yes, you may remove your jaws from the floor now.

Anyway, a long long time ago, before the site decided to go and have itself a cardiac arrest, in those antediluvian times known as 'pre-Wiki crash', I had a word with him about some project to change the way we change our Character Sheets.

Now, the rule on changing your Character Sheets has always been that you cannot change CS if you're in an active battle. That used to be fine since, well, no one was ever fighting all the time. But with the Matchmaker stuff going on, that's suddenly become a possibility. And so, to solve that stuff, I went to Orv.

Basically, we figured that since a copy of every old Character Sheet was saved for use anyway, we might as well make use of that by making it so that when someone changes Character Sheets, the battles they're in keep displaying the old one. So Orv said that sure, he'd do it.

But then, the Wiki crisis hit. And then, the site PHP hiccuped just now. But between those moments, he had a few hours of spare time and he coded it up for me, just like that.

So, now that the site has un-screwed itself at least for the time being and we've done some testing, I'm happy to introduce to you our new CS stuff! From now on, whenever a battle is started, links are saved to the users' Character Sheets of the time the match has started. If you change your character at a later date, the links will keep linking to your old CS, so that there's no more confusion in that regard.

In light of that, I'm also very happy to announce that our old CS policy of 'No changing Character Sheets if you're in an active battle' is hereby abolished. From now on, you can change your CS whenever you want.

Two caveats apply, though. First of all, this stuff is new, so there might be bugs. If you see any, email Orv and myself and we'll see what we can do about fixing it.

(Well, Orv will see what he can do about fixing it. I just want to be included because I like to feel involved :P).

Second, this stuff only applies to battles started from now on. Old battles are stuck with the current system, so don't go running about changing your CS until you've run out of old active battles.
