With the Great Jedi War less than 7 days away, it is time for a little warm-up. We've called this 'Week Zero' in wars past, and the events will get some of you in fighting trim for when the war egins on next Sunday.

With no further ado, here are the events:

Nemesis

_What is a villain without a hero to destroy?

Resistance builds character, sharpens skills. Without it steel grows dull, muscle grows weak and men become soft. Old mythologies say that for each person, there is a double, an opposite. Who is yours?

Nemesis Fiction Event

-Write about your personal nemesis; either one that has been around for awhile, or someone new that has just been introduced

• Be sure to include some history between your two characters
  

Rules

-Fiction must be at least 750 words in length and may be as long as the Author desires

-Entries MUST include ID line and DJB PIN ON the document itself. Unidentified entries will be discarded.

Scoring

-Entries will be graded on Star Wars realism (Protectors killing Dark Jedi Masters = Not Real), grammar, spelling, and general content.

-1st, 2nd, & 3rd place entries will be chosen based on above criteria. Novae will be awarded, but this event will not count toward War placement.

Light in the Darkness

_The Dark Council has come to each individual Clan and House system to discuss the issue with the light jedi currently a part of the Brotherhood. Opinions on both sides of the issue have formed, with both sides putting forth their arguments to the Dark Council on whether or not to keep these light jedi around.

In Odan-Urr a similar conversation takes place between themselves and whether to continue to stay a part of the Brotherhood or find their own path away from the darkness. _

Light Jedi; Yay or Nay? Debate Event

-The debate will be conducted in specially designated forums, already set up for each House/Clan. Passwords may be obtained from Consuls and Quaestors

-Each Clan/House will decide who will form the two teams that will debate one another

-Clan/House members will debate on another on whether or not it is a good idea to have the light jedi as part of the DJB

-Members of Odan-Urr will debate on whether it is a good idea for them to stay with the DJB

-There must be a minimum of 3 members per team and each member must post to count for participation

-To “count” for participation a post must be at least 250 words in length

-Debate is to be “In Character”, but not "fictionalized", meaning that the posts should read as if written by your character, not as though it is set in a courtroom scenario.

Scoring

-Entries will be graded on Grammar, Readability, Continuity and Persuasiveness of argument

-If a Clan or House is not able to get the requisite minimum number of participants, or have a completed debate, they will earn no points. Novae will be awarded, but this event will not count toward War placement.

So there we have it, two warm-up events to cut your teeth on and get ready for the war. Both of these events will be done at 11:59pm on Saturday, September 24th.
