DB NEWS:
-Krath Core Studies has been released. Kaiann and I strongly recommend
that everyone take this SA course. It's easy, useful, and appears on
your idline. Besides, Kaiann is the grader ;)
-The Herald needs help with the Dark Voice. Anyone interested should go

(yes, I know it says KP and above, but that should not stop anyone from
applying. The HRLD needs DV help badly, so he probably will take
whoever he can get. It never hurts to apply)

Anyone still hungover?

No, I will refrain from talking about college (American) football other
than all Americans must fulfill their patriotic duty and watch Miami
crush Nebraska on Thursday. Go 'Canes!!

And no, I will not remind everyone to see "Lord of the Rings" because I
know everyone has seen it </hint>. Thanks to my philanthropic (if you
don't know, MS Word has a wonderful dictionary :D) efforts, LotR has
now grossed over $150 mil. Boo ya!

So what will I talk about this time around? The inequalities in our
public education system? The impact of the Euro on the progress of the
European Community? Our war on terrorism?

Screw that! I'm talking about Shaft!

Shaft, for those of you who don't know the bad motherfuc--hey, I'm just
talkin' 'bout Shaft--is, well, a BMF. During the height of
Blaxploitation, some guy decided to make a film about a black cop who
plays fast and loose with the law. He's all good, but his methods are a
little...unconventional. Think Bond but black and hip. The original
movie was made back in the 70s, though a remake was made a couple of
years ago (starring Samuel L. Jackson, the L standing for "Let me be in
Star Wars, Mr. Lucas!"). Anyway, it's good, old fashioned, womanizing
and shooting fun. Highly recommended for those nights when you need to
get in touch with yo' bad self!

Next week: a treatise on Jane Austin. Scha! And monkeys could fly out
of my butt!

[note: that last comment was a joke, if you couldn't tell :)]

SUM:
Well, it's been slow around here. I know that many of us are on leave
due to the holiday season, so it's not horrible that we aren't as
active as normal. But I would like to see more from everyone (or at
least be cc'ed on your comp submissions). I know I will do more in the
next few weeks. There are plenty of comps going on right now, including
Kaiann's Yuletide Wish List. And the mailing list is always available
for chatting.
