Lots of news this week - please read it ;-) There are promotions to be had, and plenty of activities to choose from. First, let's welcome Ktulu, Dierdre Varn, Lance Syrden and Khaen to HAD! Whew! Khaen is accepting a student so get in touch with him if interested. And congratulations to Tirna Q'jira for her promotion to the rank of Acolyte. Great work!

Tetrarch **J`Lek Arcanos **has set out some great guidelines for the Ebon Cloak members to get promoted up to GRD in this week's report. Everyone please check them out - even if you have not yet been placed in the Phyle due to its being full, you can get promoted by completing those requirements. I hope to see some promotions soon, and those ECers who attain the rank of Guardian have the options of transferring into the Dragon Guard.

Dragon Guard Tetrarch Dengar March is on leave until the 30th. I will name an Acting Tetrarch shortly, who will be responsible for leading the Phyle and writing weekly reports until he returns.

The "Visions of the Future" house comp is running and I hope to get some good submissions soon. The competition lasts until the end of June so send those entries to me at [Log in to view e-mail addresses]. Just write something having to do with a Jedi vision of what is in store for the Dark Jedi in general, the DB, or HAD.

Keep sending those recruitment poster submissions to Cuchulain ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). Also send t-shirt artwork to Saitou ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). Details on all activities are below.

You are cordially invited to the Ebon Cloak phyle s weekly meeting tonight to be held in the phyle s meeting hall within House Acclivis Draco.

There was an air of festivity in the House that night, though no-one seemed to know exactly why. The phyle s meeting hall was adorned with decorations that were prescribed by some rather old and obscure Clan traditions, and the small mess hall where the phyle s members sometimes dined had been closed, the trappings of a small party barely visible through a window.

A quiet hush settled over the attendees as the phyle s recently appointed Executive Officer entered the room, Tetrarch Arcanos following with rolled parchment and a small parcel in hand. Taking his position at the front of the room, the Dark Adept drew back his hood.

Greetings, Tyros, honored guests,

I would like to first announce that the updated requirements for promotion as part of the Phyle s Training Program will be posted within a few days on the phyle s holosite. He quietly noted each person present. I ll make this quick, as I know that some of you are not used to our meetings. This week s orders will be posted in the usual location.

EC Phyle Orders for the Week beginning 13 June 2002

1) Participate in the Visions of the Future competition.

2) Think up an idea for the phyle! Think up an idea for a competition! (Please!) There s a form on the phyle website for submitting these ideas. You will receive credit (and possibly awards) if we use your idea.

Completion of the following orders will count towards your eligibility for promotion.

Novices and up: Complete the Krath Basic Studies course and submit your History to the Brotherhood Database.

Acolytes and up: Complete any other Krath course of your choice. Get a Master if you don't already have one and have them contact me.

Protectors and up: Create a profile for the HAD website. Consult the House website for examples. CC it to J'Lek and Tirna.

Also, I have been talking with the House leadership on our current situation. As some of you have no doubt noticed, we now are a full phyle, twelve members strong. As we are the training phyle for our House, we will encounter some amount of difficulty if new Novices transfer in. Because of this, any Tyro in this phyle that attains at least the rank of Guardian may choose to transfer to the Dragon Guard phyle.

J Lek grinned. And now to explain the fancy decorations...

Novice Tirna Q jira, please step forward.

The Tetrarch unrolled the parchment and began to read. For completing the requirements set forth in the Ebon Cloak phyle s training program, for conducting yourself as an exemplary member of the phyle, and for your tireless work as the phyle s Executive Officer, you are hereby promoted to the rank of Acolyte and conferred the robes and privileges that such rank entitles you. May others benefit from your example. With that, he presents the former Novice with the parchment and package probably a set of new Acolyte robes and looks out over all those assembled.

In celebration of this grand event, the promotion of one of our own, I invite each of you to join us in the Ebon Cloak mess for a reception to be held in Acolyte Q jira s honor. Drinks, of course, are on me.

With that, the Dark Adept made a gesture of dismissal, ending the ceremony.
