Tirna Q'jira **was promoted to Protector, early this week - congratulations! Also, congratulations to the newly-promoted **ACO Ktulu, who I have taken on as my newest student, in hopes he will go the way of my other former students, on to fame and glory... ;-) Anyone else interested in the Master/Student program please get in touch with me and I will add your names to the lists - other than that, take some initiative, seek someone out!

New DF Tetrarch KP Khaen_ _also deserves a mention for winning the DG competition, "Mask of the Invisible." Because of the July 4th holiday and the fact that many people are settling into new jobs, a few reports are missing this week - just look for them to be posted on the Phyle or House email lists in the next few days (hint, hint...).

**Promotions

I want to see more of these, and I'm sure you all do as well... Everyone should know exactly what requirements they need to fulfill to be promoted (especially those below the rank of DJK). **Consul Cuchulain has even extended a special invitation for those who feel they deserve a promotion to email the summits and tell us... this is not just a "ask for a promotion and get one" deal, but we cannot be everywhere at once, and so we are giving people an opportunity to give us a heads up. We will consider all applications for promotion seriously, so just email us. **Join Drynwyn's Flame

Those interested in joining the elite Phyle please read the requirements in the **DF Report below, and get in touch with *KP Khaen *([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). Please also cc me so that I know you are thinking of joining, or working on entrance requirements. Next week everyone who is not in DF or EC will be put in Dragon Guard. (We may need to see about opening another Phyle, but with DF not full enough we may not be allowed... Let me worry about that grin). Email me if you have any questions/problems.

**Visions of the Future Results

The "Visions of the Future" comp is hereby closed, and I am pleased to announce our winners... Unfortunately, there were not enough submissions to the poetry competition, but I am awarding a third place Crescent with Emerald Star to those who participated. Congratulations... Competition in the stories section, however, was fierce... and I am very pleased to see one of our rising newer members take it, even beating out her own Master... Congratulations to **PRT Tirna Q'jira, as well as our second and third place winners, DA J`Lek Arcanos and KP Timbal, respectively. Appropriate medals are on their way, and thanks to all who participated.

**New AWOL policy

**Under new rules by the KHP, there will be AWOL checks made every single month. They will be informal - basically, we need to see some sign of life from everyone during the last two weeks of each month. This can be in everyday participation, from submitting to any competition or activity, to being on IRC, to message boards, to email on the lists... or, if not, please just drop an email to the House Summit ([Log in to view e-mail addresses], [Log in to view e-mail addresses], [Log in to view e-mail addresses]) to avoid getting AWOLed. We will send out emails on the 15th of each month to those who we have not seen activity from - those we know are around will not need to do anything special.

Well, well, well! Who woulda thought they'd give a position of relative responsibility to a nutter like me :P I must thank the powers that be (you know who you are >:P) for trusting me with this job, and duly promise that I will not be a let-down. You can have my left arm on your mantle if I am :P

:-NEWS-:

I am currently working on a DF site. Once there are a few members and substance to the phyle, the content will be added in so I can upload the site without it just being a useless skeleton.

After consultation with the PCON and QUA, I've decided on entrance requirements for the elite phyle. These are as follows:

-Minimum rank of Protector (PRT)

-Completion of Krath Core and Grammar Studies (Shadow Academy)

-Submission of a work of poetry/fiction with the topic "Corruption" to me

for judging

These requirements will ensure that applicants are basically active and able, so we don't get dead weight in the elite phyle. When DF starts to fill up and spots become contested, the rank requirement might see a rise, and the quality of entry pieces will have to be quite high.

Activity will be key in this phyle. As the elite, a constant state of uhh.. activeness.. will have to be seen. In the opening stages of formation, I will be expecting less of people than when we get into full swing. Basically, once the phyle is in action, if a Tyro is not pulling his/her/it's weight and someone else wants that spot, then guess who gets the Tyro position?

This report was pretty bare because I'm still the only person in the phyle :P Titus and Aeishy, if you cold get to work on the requirements that'd be excellent. Hope to have your company on my lonely roster soon :P Anyone else interested in joining DF-- by all means get in touch with me ASAP! If you don't quite meet the rank requirements, drop me a line anyway and I'll see if I can help you out in advancing through the ranks. At the very least I'll keep an eye on your progress. Once again, apologies for the sparse report; it was the best I could do considering. Next week there will be a full-blown report with the requisite fiction and all that jazz :P
