Summary of Tetrarch Report #4 (2002.10.10)

![-=-=-=- (Bar)](http://pages.prodigy.net/aysha_minion/_uimages/Bar.jpg)

No promotions this week, but while Ktulu Mizheray was forced to resign due to real life getting in the way of his duties, Mako Gaiton has stepped up bravely to the plate to try his hand at being the Dark Hand (no pun really intended, honest) and we wish him the best of luck.

The results for the first phase of Dark Allegiance, the vendetta between Acclivis Draco and Ektrosis are out. Unfortunately Ebon Cloak Phyle took fifth place. I know things fell apart in the end, which is why I'm not assigning anyone any specific part again and rather I will let us all discuss our ideas out over the mailing list and I will type up the finished product for Phase Two. Hopefully things will turn out better for us this time, so let's get talking!

Protector Talons Pryde took first place in September's fiction topic: Specter of the Past, with Protector Ktulu Mizheray taking second place and Acolyte Mako Gaiton taking third. Your medals are on the way!

Please participate in October's Monthly Fiction Topic: The Haunting! All the details for submission can be found on the Ebon Cloak holosite under the "Competitions" heading, so please go look them over and begin working on it. You have until the thirty-first of October to get your submissions in, so you'd better hurry while there is still time.

The Krath Run-On. I'm working on finishing up an initial post for our Phyle to get everyone kick-started. I know the topic is a little confusing, but I think with some effort we can make it through and prove ourselves at the top Krath House, what do you say? So wait for my post, and then start sending as often as you can. But, be sure to stay focused. No side routes in the story if you please. It only confuses people later on.

Another great competition is being prepared: The Master/Student Championship number three! All the details for that can be found on the [official holosite](http://www25.brinkster.com/muertevip/msc/iii/) for the Master Student Championship III. The deadline to join is the twentieth, so get talking to your Masters and try to participate!

For those of you who do not know the Krath Combat Chamber is now officially open to the public and it's a great place to practice your battle skills in for future competitions. Currently they have a ladder going, of which I am a part, so wish me luck everyone. I also encourage everyone to join and perhaps challenge me to a duel--although I've got four going right now, eek--and test your Tetrarch's writing skills.

On another, slightly different note there is a poll up on the Ebon Cloak holosite pertaining to future competitions for the Phyle. I highly encourage if not flat order everyone to go and vote and then hopefully elaborate your ideas for future competitions in the message board topic provided under the General Discussion header.

Finally, promotion requirements. I've seen very little activity towards these and I'd like to see more. I want to have some new Guardians and Jedi Hunters out there, and even some more Dark Jedi Knights soon I hope, so let's try to work on those requirements, shall we? If you have any problems or questions, please don't hesitate to ask me via holomail or whatever other means you manage to catch me by.

Guardian Lara York transfered to Rogue due to real life. Farewell, Lara. You will be missed. Acolyte Marcus Gladius Octavius has also transfered out of the Phyle, but into Dragon Guard at the invitation of the Dragon Guard Tetrarch rather than out into the Rogues.

Acolyte Detori Koth continues to be on leave, as does Protector Zedder Netzach, despite the occasional word from him. Return to use soon, Tyros! On a more cheerful note Protector Talons Pryde has returned from sick bay, though his injuries are not healed to completion, and is eager to start participating again! Welcome back!

Acolyte Adian Pryde passed Obelisk Core at the Shadow Academy. Congratulations on the course, Adian. Perhaps you'll tackle Krath Grammar Studies next?

Several medals have been awarded this week (or are being awarded). They are:

Protector Talons Pryde - Cresent with Sapphire Star (In the mail)

Protector Ktulu Mizheray - Cresent with Emerald Star (In the mail)

Acolyte Mako Gaiton - Cresent with Topaz Star (In the mail)

That's pretty much it this week. Hopefully next week will see some more activity and excitement.

It was night, as usual and as usual the Ebon Cloak Tetrarch was watching the night sky from her point on the bow of the tiny ocean craft she owned. It wasn't much, but it was hers, and she didn't have to request permission everytime to go to the surface. Such freedoms were rare, and she relished them.

As she sat gazing across the rippling ocean waters she thought back to the previous week and how her youngest brother had tried to kill her. It had been a long and hard battle, but in the end Tirna overcame him and was able to force him into submission.

He had been lied to, and made to think the worst of her. He, of course, had not believed her when she first told him the truth, and she was forced into locking him away for a time until she was able to make him understand. She shuddered. The whole business had been unpleasant and she really didn't wish to go through it again.

But how had he found her? He had yet to tell her that, and by that action she was force to keep him under constant guard. She sighed. Things were not going well. Not at all.

She glanced at the sky, judging it to be about seven in the evening, Local Standard Time. Dinner would be ending soon, and after it she would give her report.

She rose to her feet, walking back to the top hatch and sliding inside. "Alarr?" she called as she crouched to a landing, her light weight rocking the ship only slightly as it moved with the waves.

"Yes, mistress?" he replied, his voice coming from the direction of the cockpit.

"It's time to head back," she told him, closing up hatch. "I have a report to deliver and an impatient Dark Hand who I'm sure wants to give his report already. Shall we go?"

"At once mistress," he said, starting up the engines. "Please come take a seat."

She smiled. So like him to be concerned about obeying any rules and regulations, as well as seeing to her absolute safety. "Coming, Alarr..."

![-=-=-=- (Bar)](http://pages.prodigy.net/aysha_minion/_uimages/Bar.jpg)

Guardian Tirna Q'jira stood for a moment in the shelter of the shadows, looking out into the meeting hall from her vantage point, the two large doors wide open as if the building itself were awaiting her report.

The meeting hall was filled, save for a few seats. They were not a full Phyle yet, and their numbers were diminished further by the leaves of absence still in affect and the transfers of some members.

The Ebon Cloak Tetrarch strode through the center aisle, giving nods of acknowledgement to those assembled as she walked by. As usual, it took her very little time to ascend to the dais that had almost become her home since she joined Ebon Cloak. It seemed there was always something to announce.

She turned about to face them, a gentle smile on her face. "My Tyros," she began in a soft voice which was clearly audible through the now silent chamber. "I fear that in the vendetta against House Ektrosis we have taken fifth place in this first phase of the competition. This is, as most of you know, last place. Rather shameful, despite our being a training Phyle. Things fell through due to lack of communication and I do not wish this to happen again, so please, let's start working on the second phase of this vendetta. We must come up with an attack plan, and soon."

She glanced down at the stand before her, looking at her notes. "On a lighter note--" a few ripples of laughter floated through the Phyle "--the submissions for last month's fiction topic have been graded with the following results: Protector Talons Pryde has taken first place, Protector Ktulu Mizheray second, and Acolyte Mako Gaiton third. Congratulations all around.

"On a similar note I encourage everyone to participate in this month's fiction topic. All the details for submitting can be found on the Ebon Cloak holosite under the 'Competitions' heading.

"Moving on, there are a few other competitions you should be aware of. There is the Krath Order-Wide Run-On currently that I want everyone to participate in. I know some of you may be confused by the current plot but I hope that with my post--which should be finished shortly after this report--will help you get caught up with everything and move from there.

"There is also the Master/Student Competition to consider. Talk with your Masters and try to see if you have the time to participate. The closing deadline for entry is the twentieth of this month, so don't delay.

"And, for those of you who are as yet unaware, the Krath Combat Chamber is now open, and currently we have begun the ladder competition which will decide who is the best amoung those participants, of which I am one of. Wish me luck, if you believe in it, and hope that the Force is with me if you don't." She smiled, and there were several chuckles.

"On two final notes I would like to remind everyone that the Ebon Cloak holosite has a poll that concerned the nature of future competitions for this Phyle, and that there is also a topic on the message board for Ebon Cloak where you can list further details. Please go vote if you haven't already and place your input on the matter upon the board under the General Discussions header. The other note is that I wish for everyone to please keep working on their promotion requirements. I know some of you are, but I have seen little effort from others and it is regretable that I am unable to announce any promotions amoungst my Tyros. I hope this changes in the near future. If you have any questions as to what your current requirements are please either consult the list on the holosite, or contact me through holomail. Thank you."

She turned to face her Dark Hand, Acolyte Mako Gaiton. "And now," she said in a slightly louder voice. "With your kind grace and permission, your Dark Hand has some things of his own to report." She stepped off the dais and briefly touched Mako's shoulder with her hand in passing. "Good luck," she whispered and then she was gone.

Stepping up onto the dais, Mako cleared his throat and gathered his thoughts as he began to rummage through his papers. "Let's see here.... First on my list we have our transferals. Guardian Lara York has left us for the Rogues, due extenuating circumstances and Acolyte Marcus Gladius Octavius left us after an invitation to the Dragon Guard from their Tetrarch reached him. Good luck to both of you, you will be missed.

"We still have some people that are on leave and by my count the total number is two. Protectors Detori Koth and Zedder Netzach. Talons Pryde has rejoined us after a strenuous injury to his hand, though he is out of sickbay, he still is not fully healed."

Clearing his throat again, he wiped a bit of sweat from his forehead. "Continuing on, Adian Pryde completed the Obelisk Core at the Shadow Academy. Congratulations, Adian. Medals awarded this time around go to Protector Talons Pryde with a Crescent with Sapphire Star, Protector Ktulu Mizheray and his Crescent with Emerald Star, and Acolyte Mako Gaiton with his Crescent and Topaz Star. As for promotions, there are none this week, although I've noticed some of you are very close to attaining one. Keep up the work, my friends. That's all for this week." And with that he left the dais and proceeded to his quarters.

Walking slowly to his quarters, Mako decided he would do a little combat training so he would be better prepared if ever called upon to fight. Reaching his rooms, Mako changed out of his robes and into his martial art suit. Picking up his katana, he headed towards the training facilities. As soon as he set foot out of his room, he noticed a certain chill to the air. Paying it no mind he started out towards the time of trials.

Knowing that he was going to have to beat the clock so he could get it in there, he began to jog. Not really knowing what happened, Mako slid to a halt one the slick freshly waxed floor. Looking behind him, he saw what he felt he had run through. It was the Acclivis Draco residential ghost. Proceeding cautiously towards the apparition, Mako suddenly saw in fact that it was indeed a dead Jedi, by the robes he wore. Questioningly, Mako began towards the ghost ever more slowly. Once he had reached the ghost, it turned around and looked at him somberly. At that instant, Mako knew that this was someone who suffered much in life and was not granted a clean, honorable death. Mako nodded saying, "I'll help you if you want."

With that the ghost, nodded and disappeared. Finishing his way towards the training center, Mako stopped at the doors, hearing someone fighting inside. Opening the door, Mako saw no one fighting but he still heard the sound of lightsabers hitting each other. Trying to shrug it off, Mako drew his sword and activated his training program, specially designed for him. Even through all the noise, Mako had no real trouble holding on to his concentration. That was when it got bad. Things that were not there before, and by all rights should not have been, began flying at him. Dodging the object rapidly, Mako began to use his scabbard of his katana as a deflector. Thinking it couldn't get worse, Mako realized he was unbelievably wrong. Things became inexorably slower as Mako began to feel tired and overworked. After a while, Mako had to leave the room to get way from the barrage of objects flying towards him.

When he had finally gotten back to his quarters, Mako began to research all unexplained happenings in the Dragon Hall and the Training facilities. Finding much to his surprise, there had only been three before now. One ended in the death of a Jedi Knight. Not knowing what his name was, Mako went back to the Dragon Hall. He began to look for the deceased Jedi. By the time he got there, an invisible force blasted a security patrol, which had begun to seal the training room. When he had tended to all he could, Mako decided he would have to help the ghost.

"Why are you doing this!" Mako exclaimed, as he stormed into the room and dodged a few pieces of debris that ricocheted off of the wall.

Mako's answer was another piece of debris flying toward him. All he had to do was find out the name of the person who did this and perhaps then this ghost could rest. Mako decided to leave the area for now and ordered four patrols, to make sure no one went into the training room at all.

Mako then retired to his quarters and began to follow up on this 'problem'. After a time, Mako's eyes began to get heavy and he fell asleep at his desk and slept soundly. His last thoughts were: when had he ever slept this well? Never fully resting but never fully awake, Mako spent most of his life in a fitful stage of half-restfulness. Finally banishing those thoughts, Mako then lay down on his pallet and began to fall asleep.
