The familiar steps of boots throughout AoD quarters was so routine one's attention was hardly distracted by it. But not these last few days. Two new sets of steps filled the halls and all noticed such.
Tatsu and Drake, newly joined to the Angel's of Death, found a bit of conversation between themselves. They walked to a large window overseeing the dense woodland outside. Drake beamed with excitement.
"I've made it this far. And yet, so far to go still." He looked to Tatsu who gazed outside as well, lost in his sight. He nodded slowly to Drake's words. Drake continued.
"So you just arrived too eh? I bet your nervous huh? Well not too nervous. You've already attained Dark Jedi Knight rank. Have you built your saber yet?"
Tatsu again nodded slowly, moving a section of his robe aside to reveal his black hilt lightsaber, gleaming with reflected light. Drake's eyes widened.
"I'll have mine soon. I can't wait." Tatsu turned and faced Drake now.
"You think this is all about a lightsaber?" he said. Drake stopped his words short and looked at Tatsu. He paused and answered.
"Well...no! Of course not! But..the power the saber can produce. I just can't wait to have one of my own."
"True power is not in the blade." Tatsu said, turning his gaze back to the window. "You will find the true power is inside you. The part that controls the flow of the Force that barrels like a torrent through you every moment of your life. When you reach the rank of Dark Jedi Knight, my friend, you'll find much more interest in what you can do with your mind rather than your saber."
Drake listened intently, not sure how to take this advice. He decided to take it to heart.
"You are wise, Tatsu. I should hope to continue to be a receiver of advice from you in the future." Drake took one last look at Tatsu and turned to the window as well. Tatsu smiled silently then returned straight faced. The sun began to set and a vibrant purple bathed the tree tops.
Greetings fellow Angels! I know it's a little early but I'm going to be out tomorrow and Saturday so I figured better early then late right? ;)
