Page Meridian sounding off...

Page's Pub

The time was 0600 (Imperial Standard Time).  The Aedile Page Meridian lay soundly asleep in his bed for approximately another "two snooze buttons", when suddenly his holonet receiver chirped like the half-robins of the morning.  Page slapped the snooze button on his alarm clock repeatedly until he realized where the sound was coming from.  One eye still shut (or one eye open if you're an optimistic sort of Jedi), Page reached to activate the visual aid on the receiver.  In a transparent flash, his friend Dalthid appeared and began to speak without greeting.  "Page!  Is there any way we can proceed directly to the pub this morning and skip the usual pleasantry of lunch?"  Focusing on the Force to become a part of the awakened, Page replied: "Lunch?  What about breakfast?  Or brunch?  What's on your mind my friend?"  Watching the shaky presentation, he quickly realized that eager SotN Tetrarch was unhappy.  Half dressed now (or half undressed still, if you're a pessimistic sort of Jedi [ or optimistic female Jedi ] ), Page crouched to the holonet receiver and gave a quick "thumbs-up" and said "I'm on my way brother.  I'll be at your place in no time!"  

Page rushed out of the door of his mega-large mansion (ok, a small studio apartment with vinyl furniture and......you get the point) and hopped in to his ultra deluxe stretch speeder with driver (beater with a broken driod in it). On the way to Dalthid's pad, Page stopped by the QUA Shups' place to see if he'd care to go with. Unfortunately, Page could not physically wade through the whiskey bottles on the inside of the main entrance, so he decided to press on. Rounding the corners like a mass transit on rails (fish-tailing near catastrophe), Page pulled up to Selket's house boat and beeped the horn and shouted "C'mon baby, Daddy's here". The Lady rushed out of the boat and darted to the luxury speeder. Rather than a hug or kiss, Page was greeted with an ignited saber to his throat and a few kind words. "If you ever refer to me as "baby" or yourself as "Daddy" in my presence again, I'll sever your damn head. Good morning Page". The Aedile understood completely (she was playing hard to get, just how Page liked it).

Page neared Dalthid's location when he came to a stop light about six blocks away. Selket commented on the small man on a knee over the curb. "Dalthid!" Page shouted. "Get your Phyle-leadin' ass in here!" Dalthid hopped over the side of the speeder (mainly because the rear passenger door does not open), and laid down in the back seat. He waved his approval to proceed to the pub.

Upon reaching the pub, all of the Jedi exited the vehicle and walked up to the familiar stoop. Dalthid walked straight to the door and reached through the force field securing the pub. He muttered "I circumvented the system; sorry." With happy shrugs, Page and Selket accompanied the feisty little one through the door and over to the bar. "What shall it be my friends?" Page inquired. Selket and Dalthid eyed each other for a moment and turned to the Aedile. Selket commented "Got any ISD fuel?" Page poured three large glasses of a beautiful Calamarian Stout and the trio spoke out: "Here's to the worst week we've had in awhile!"

House Gossip

Well folks, we've had a few issues this week, but I can't say I blame anyone.  Without airing out anyone's "dirty laundry", I'd like to mention that the dear TK-7764 has put in for transfer out of Aleema.  Shups and I are sad to see the lad go, but it is his decision and he has apparenty made it stating "He may be back with us someday, but with his saber!"  I hope we see just that.  I'm sure he'll excel wherever he goes!  It seems that conduct issues are popping up again.  It seems these things come in waves don't you agree?  I'll just ask everyone to watch their language primarily, especially over egroups and in IRC.  I realize that MOST of us don't mind the occasional "damn" or "piss", but it's when you've got people "F-ing" this and "F-ing" that that complaints tend to make their way to folks' (much higher than myslef) desks.  In short, let's try to keep it "PG-13" across the board.  Enought said on that!  Now for some good stuff!  

I've been noticing lately an unusually high amount of CoF's coming across my desk, particularly from Selket and Silent.  Outstanding job!  This just goes to show that even though we're Krath (and damn proud of it!), we can still kick some tail at MP action.  With awards being mentioned, please don't forget that a little thing called the DARK VOICE exists.  TK-7764 obviously knows, as he got a Dark Cross AND a Dark Side Scroll this week for his personal submissions.  Follow his lead ladies and gentlemen and get a few things in!  The DV has really been revamped as of late and is taking off in a huge way.  The management over there is superior and highly organized and will serve you well.    

Back to some comlaints.  I've noticed that activity has generally been.....well.....terrible lately.  It's like asking for blood to get an email from quite a few of you (you know who you are).  I know that there have been a couple AWOL check initiated.  PLEASE do not blow them off.  If you want to be a part of this House, then undertand that you are lucky that one stupid email every MONTH is all we ask.  You want to go rogue?  That's cool too, although we'd like to see everyone stay and make DJM in Aleema.  We don't want to do it, but there will be some house cleaning done in the near future to get rid of dead weight  

Finally, I'd like to stress something that has been half-neglected as of late.  When it comes to things like run-ons and KCC fights especially, the rules really serve a purpose.  I know some folks may think that getting "wild" is fun, but it really does ruin the integrity of such events.  If rules are not defined prior to posting that suggest a "whacky" atmosphere and humerous rapport, let's keep it serious, ok?  It's really difficult for me not to give examples, but I refuse to site anyone publically here.  Just take this for what you will.

The Brick Wall Falls on YOU

After the usual "Page's Pub" fiction, you may have noticed that my report has taken a slightly different format when compared to previous ones. This is due to some constructive criticism from the DGM Mairin. She feels that my reports are a bit too jumbled or confusing to the average reader or newbie. When I thought about it, I agree. Although I still refuse to do a "copy/paste job" of the TET and QUA reports, I'm going to be keeping the important info separated from the normal chatter. And with folks holding respectable ranks in this place still asking for BASIC DB links of each other in IRC, I'm going to have to throw the big ones out here for you all. If you know nothing else about the DB, KNOW THESE LINKS!!
