War is upon us and it has now fully begun. Besides the runon already running, there is now Phase 1 of the GJW in full swing. The Krath have been given three events to compete in:

Poetry 1

* Write an ode or poem to honour those who lost their lives during the defence of the Brotherhood so far.  You can either do this from the perspective of a Clan member honouring their own dead, or from the point of view of one attempting to build and maintain an alliance between the Clans, thus aiming at conciliation through their words.  

* Submissions should be 30 lines minimum  

* .doc, .txt, or .rtf format only  

* Ensure your ID line is included in your submission file  

Story 1

* Document the withdrawal from Lyarna and Coronada and the subsequent forging of the Alliance of Seven.  

* Submissions should be 1 page minimum, 12 point Times New Roman  

* .doc, .txt or .rtf format only  

* Ensure your ID line is included in your submission file  

Ritual Design

* Owing to the level of distrust amongst the Clans, the Alliance of Seven is to be bound with a ritual of solidarity.  Design the Ritual.

* Ensure your ID line is included in your submission file  

Note: The minimums are very low this time around, so there's really a great time to gather up some participation points. I'd really like to see every Aleeman compete in at least two of these events! Oh, and the topics are not half bad either - both the poem and the ritual have a lot of potential for creative writers.

Graphics

* Design a banner or graphic which takes in some aspect of the plot so far  

* Submissions in .gif or .jpg format, zipped; send to eloniel@dsl.pipex.com  

TIMING:

Everything is due by Feb 23, 11:59 pm EST. This is two weeks time from today. Story/Poem/Ritual goes to [Log in to view e-mail addresses] and [Log in to view e-mail addresses] (KHP and DGM), graphics only to the DGM [Log in to view e-mail addresses].

No big merit awards, but a nice bundle of competition and activity rewards to House Aleema, that's how I like things!

• I might point out again that we do have a promotion system in place based on competition participations, so this GJW will provide ample opportunity to pick up a rank or two! For those posting in the runon, I'll award everyone who has made reasonable posts (more than just five lines ;-) ) on three days one competition credit. Making several short posts on one day is as good as making a longer one :-P
  

-I have received a sizable medal recommendation for an Aleeman that I will be passing on with full support; the beneficiary should know as soon as it's approved, the rest will be hearing in next week's report, I hope. Of course YOU could be the next one I'm writing something like this about, the only thing it takes is activity!
