<bow>
Greetings Gladius! Time for another report from yours truely. Yeah okay, quit groaning. :P
Now, almost all of you recieved an email from me this week. Most of it talked about the GJW and participation. If you did not get one, its either because your on leave, I talked to you on IRC/AIM or that i plan to talk to you on one of those two.
Time for the fun part.. pleading. ;P
You all choose this House to join for your own reasons, and this Clan. You all are apart of its future and how it is looked upon by the rest of the DB. This is a chance to prove how good you are as a Krath, and how the rest of the DB will look upon us until the next GJW. We have the chance to really show what we can do. Alot of you are already sending in a story, or a poem, or even the ritual. And I am very proud of all of you for that.
The deadline for submissions is THIS Sunday, the 23rd. I would like to see all of you participate in each event for Phase 1. I really can't stress enough how big this thing is. But I know Gladius has the best Krath to be found anywhere. I'd like your help to prove it!
When you DO submit something from now on, make sure you CC me on it too!!
Anyways, on to DB and EH/TC news!

Grand Master Report
Posted By GM Firefox - 2/21/2003
1) The Great Jedi War appears to be proceeding well so far and except for a few little details, I believe that it's all going smoothly.
2) As many know, there have been some problems between the Chancellor and the Headmaster. I've seen things said that had no business being said by Dark Council members. Our conduct should be exemplary and while I realize that we're only regular people, some things should not be mentionned in a public forum.
I was very angry at both of them for letting things go this far. And I admit that replacing them both crossed my mind. But everyone makes mistakes. The question is, will they learn from them.
The Chancellor took a step in the right direction by apologizing and going on leave to cool down. Mage erased the troubling exchange that some saw on the Dark Brotherhood website.
It could have been worse, but not much worse. I was very disappointed and it will take them quite some time to regain my trust. Of course, any further outburst like this would definitely put their future in the Dark Brotherhood in serious jeopardy.
3) This week some people have asked what they could do with Dark Voice submissions that are not accepted because they're not Dark Brotherhood specific. To those people, I can only recommend that they submit to the EH newsletter. Anything that is relevant to the EH is accepted. I suggest you go take a look at the various newsletters that can be found linked on to TIE Corps website. http://www.emperorshammer.net
4) Remember that participation in the Great Jedi War is a very important duty for Clan Members. If there is one thing you can do to help the Clan, it's definitely to participate in this. Go out there and crush your enemies!
Headmaster Report

This would be #19. Not bad... almost 5 months now! :)
[Bows]
OBL Mage (Obelisk)/HM/Dark Council [GMRG: CRU]
[ SA Site ]
Yes, the new site is finally up. I'm constantly pestering ^CyberGuy^ with questions and bug fixes, so hopefully it will be in working order shortly.
If you find any bugs, inconsistencies, or just want to point something funny out, please do. Both myself and ^CyberGuy^ need to find all the flaws ASAP.
[ Combat Academy ]
As I pointed out recently, the Combat Academy is floundering a little. I'm going to be doing my best to assist Dagger, the sole director of the Combat Academy now, to get it out of the murk.
Remember - there are only Obelisk and Sith Combat Academy classes now. The Krath have a new friend. ;)
Also, Combat Instructors should be reporting in to myself and Dagger by February 28th with a report on the classes they have run, or at the very least with a copy of their material and a good excuse. Anyone who doesn't have material for a class by now will be leaving the staff.
Applications for new Combat Instructors will be dealt with in a very simple fashion. If you're an aspiring Sith or Obelisk, and think you could teach some multiplayer tactics to the rest of the Brotherhood, drop off a short resume and a copy of your intended class material with me and Dagger.
[ New Courses ]
I'm always looking for new courses... if you make a course, you will be rewarded. If you grade a course, you will be rewarded. And besides, being a Teacher is so much fun... I've even got Grand Masters who want to be Teachers! :P
[ Great Jedi War ]
If you've taken the time to read this report, you also have the time to be turning in submissions to the GJW! Come on... make my plotline proud. :P
[ Major Office Changes ]
"Dear lord, Mage, you wouldn't repost that list... would you?"
Hah. That's what you think.
#1 - All Course Teachers who are currently active in their positions must report in to myself and Pyralis by no later than February 28th.
#2 - All Obelisk and Sith Combat Instructors who have a class outline and are trying to deliver it need to report in to Dagger and myself no later than the 28th. Any Combat Instructor who has a class outline, but is NOT currently trying to deliver it, must report in ASAP and get their butts moving. Any Combat Instructor who doesn't fall into either of the above falls into the "Apathetic and Fired!" category.
#3 - The Krath section of the Combat Academy has been closed down. More details further on.
#4 - To encourage people to come out to the Obelisk and Sith Combat Academy classes, I will be having them registered as combat events. There will be a short instructional period, followed by an open match time - a competition following the class, so to speak. CF's will be awarded at the competitions.
#5 - As the Krath section of the Combat Academy was less than functional, I have closed it down. Rising in its place is the even-better College of Lore. This little institution will thrill all those Krath who complain incessantly about the level of writing across the Brotherhood. The College will be divided into Sections named for writing styles - Prose, Poetry, Run-On's, Combat Run-On's (a la KCC), and Factual Writing (reports, articles, etc.). Each Section will be headed by a Dean, who will be assisted by 1-2 Sages. That's a grand total of up-to 15 people, all working hard to review any literature sent to them, and reply to the author with a list of improvements - most of which will be based around spelling, grammar, vocabulary, use of descriptive language, maintaining a theme, flow, use of literary devices, realism, and anything else the lovely people can come up with.
Application details can be found further on.
#6 - I currently have three direct assistants. My Praetor, Pyralis, will continue in his functions - and no, I can't write that list out. Of my two Magistrates, freshjive has chosen to step down. Magistrate 1 will remain dedicated to the Combat Academy, while Magistrate 2 will now oversee the new College of Lore.
[ Applications and Appointments ]
Whee. This is my favorite part.
A new Phase One Course Teacher will be announced as soon as I have time to converse with Pyralis on the issue. I'm torn between 3 or 4 very good applications, and will be looking to my ever-wise Praetor to help me make the final call.
As for applications... well, this tickles my mind. I've already had applications for the College of Lore that has barely been conceived as an idea. I've also received dozens of positive comments about it. So, bearing that in mind, the application details for M:HM2 - the overseer of the College of Lore - follow. M:HM2 will help me choose Deans once s/he is chosen, and then the Deans will be given the power to appoint anywhere from 0-2 Sages to assist them. I expect most Deans won't need assistants any time soon, but you never know.
Applicants for M:HM2 must meet the following criteria:
Proven capabilities in a leadership position
Exceptional communication skills - mastery of the English language is a must
High activity - email turnaround of 24-48 hours maximum
Must demonstrate (in a fashion of their own choosing) the ability to accurately, fairly, and politely critique a piece of literature
Must be fully committed to seeing the College of Lore succeed in its intended role, and motivated to make it happen
Intend on staying in this position for a period of 4+ months
I will be accepting applications until the 25th or so. If I receive a bushel of fully-qualified applicants before then, I will make my decision earlier.
[ Shadow Academy Staff Rewards ]
I've kinda been muddling my way through this for the past little while... what's an acceptable form of award for work with the SA? I've used my best judgement to date, but I'm going to try and lay out some flat guidelines (read - not a point system >:P).
So, without further ado, here's the system I've devised for Course Teachers, Combat Instructors, Deans, and Sages - which I will be having reviewed by stand-in Chancellor Knight Camile:
CT's - After grading 50 tests, a Star of Eos; or
After grading 100 tests, a Steel Cross
(For the above - Course Teachers are expected to record their own pass/fails, so they will have an accurate record, and can beat me when their presents are due. :P)
Regular service in a constantly demanding position such as this is also awarded. Most Course Teachers who have done quality work to date - Cymbre Kall (ret.), Reaper, etc. - have been rewarded. I believe there's two or three people I need to make recommendations for today, as well.
CI's - After delivering 15 successful classes (where people show up and participate) - a Star of Eos; or
After delivering 30 successful classes, a Steel Cross
Again, regular service is awarded. I've got a few people in mind, but I'd like to see some more success with the Combat Academy on the whole before making those recommendations.
Deans/Sages - After reviewing and returning (with suggestions) 25 pieces of work, a Star of Eos; or
After reviewing and returning 50 pieces of work, a Steel Cross
And, once again, regular service will be rewarded. I expect any Dean or Sage who performs well in their position will be recommended for a nice shiny.
My Praetor and Magistrates will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis, and for whatever award they are due. They may not see the basic shinies as often, but they may see much bigger ones. Don't feel left out, guys. ;)
If you have a problem with the above, let me know. I know I have a knack for making little mistakes, and would like to be informed of them.
[ Leave ]
I'm still on what amounts to a leave. I'll be doing my best to be around, and for no reason other than keeping my mind occupied, I may still be around almost as much. My family remains priority number one, however, especially at this point in time.
[ Are You Quite Finished Yet?! ]
...yea, I've run out of things to babble about. I'm sure I'll think of three more right after I hit, "Add Report", so you'll see those in a bit.
Dark Voice Guideline Review
Posted by KAP Korbane Ashoka - 2/20/2003
I know that all of you are excited about submitting to the Dark Voice and getting your dark side scrolls or possible dark cross for those select few. First you need to know the guidelines for submitting to the Dark Voice.
Make sure to include your DB ID line AND DB Pin number in the E-mail when submitting to the dark voice. This helps me type in all of those medals I award, you dont do this then dont cry to me that you didnt get your dark side scroll (DSS).
The submission MUST be Dark Jedi/Force related. DO NOT just send me a TIE fighter picture. Yes, I know that we have Sith pilots but I need more creativity then that. If you made it a banner and put some cools DB related stuff on there then that is fine. But I will not accept just anything. It must be Dark Brotherhood/Force related.
Name the submission in all lowercase letter and no spaces or symbols. Example: My_Tie_Banner change to mytiebanner. I know it does not look as pretty but it is easier for our webmaster this way and it saves me time from changing everything.
When you wish to contribute anything to the Dark Voice send all items to KAP Korbane Ashoka at ([Log in to view e-mail addresses]). Be sure to put the Subject as Dark Voice Submission so I do not delete any good submissions that I think is junk mail.
That is all the rules for the Dark Voice, I look forward to receiving your submissions!
Dark Voice Article
By Staff Writer Anshar
Should there be rank caps?
Currently, higher ranks can only be achieved by holding a summit position.
Id be willing to bet that many of you have ultimately one thought in your head: how soon can I get my next rank? Obviously, the higher up you are, the longer it will probably take. However, the current system prohibits promoting a person beyond a certain rank unless they are serving on a current Summit (House or Clan level). This seems odd, considering that there are only a limited number of summit positions. In fact, there is a grand total of 28 Summits (7 Clan, 21 House). Not including rollmaster, there are fifty-six positions (CON, PCON, QUA, and AED). Obviously, not every person can hold one of these jobs..... Krath High Priest Report

No summery, but the report is small enough to hold the attention of the masses, I think. ;)
1) The Run-On section of the GJW ended this week and Mairin and I are literally inundated with the sheer weight of this part alone, let alone the other sections that will be concluding soon. Please bare with us, as well as the other judges, as we attempt to mark your wonderful work in a timely and fair fashion.
2) Speaking of the other sections, you have until the 23rd, 11:59pm to be exact, to complete the other sections. This also includes the GFX Open section, as there has been quite a large amount of confusion on that one.
3) I can't give detailed info just yet but trust me, people are bustin their arses on this competition! EVERY SUBMISSION COUNTS! It may come down to REALLY close numbers so get off your bum if you havent submitted yet and get to work! You got 3 days left to make a difference...

4000 FCHG!!
04:45 - AD Marcin Szydlowski
Today, our very own Colonel Brucmack, best MP pilot of Emperor's Hammer achieve another milestone: 4000 FCHG points.
Congratulations Bruc, keep it up. I assume it won't take you too long to hit 5000.
Brucmack is the only pilot to hold top position in both FCHG and CR ranking and it is soon possible that he will be top HSer in EH.
=====================================================
I kept it short this week, alot of things are on everyone's mind. Not to mention you all need time to write for the events ;P
Good luck to all of us! Go Gladius!!
