Dark Greetings Tarentum,
With the certain aspects of the GJW being on hold, things have seemed a little slow this week. But I'd advise everyone not to forget the other events in Phase 2 of the Great Jedi War, which are all equally important. We've done well so far, but I know we can do much better in regards to participation. Even if there's something you're not the greatest at or you haven't have much experience with, try your hand at it, every things help, and you never know, you may have some untapped talent locked up. ;)
As there will be no nova for participation in the Great Jedi Wars any longer, we have been allowed to award members as we see fit for their participation. I know Gladius has already made a set of awards to members who put forth a lot of effort into helping their House and Clan thus far and I'm sure the other houses will be taking care of this soon. And if you'd like to reccomend anyone for a medal that you think did exceptionally well, make sure you mail Domi and I, along with your house summits and we'll do our best to make sure everyone is rewarded for their hard work. There have been many of you who have been a tremendous help both in participating in events and helping the Clan to organize (and understand :P) the wargame, and I, and Tarentum, greatly appreciate your sevice. Keep up the good work!
Make sure to stay tuned to the news on DJB.org, it appears as though many changes may be taking place in certain aspects of the DB soon. The Shadow Academy now has a new Headmaster, SWL Pyralis, so make sure to catch up on his news to be aware of any changes as they occur in the direction of the Shadow Academy. And as many of you are already aware, the position of Emissary has returned, and you can catch his constant updates on djb.org at nearly any time. ;)
As Domi mentioned, Tarentum is working on rebuilding our website, and we need suggestions for what you would like to see included in that aside from the basics. A few of you have already responded with some good ideas that will be considered, already. Thanks to those of you who have, and those of you who haven't yet..why not? We know you've got some good ideas stirring around up there somewhere. =P Also, if any of you are particularly skilled in any aspect of web design that you think might be of aid to us with the Tarentum site, please let Domi and myself know. :)
IRC. . .I won't say much as the Proconsul covered this already in his reports. But please, have a decent level of respect for other members in the channel. Remember that when you're working within the DB and on related channels on IRC, you're representing a little bit of Tarentum to the rest of the Brotherhood. . .and Tarentum is a Clan of honour and dignity -- not foolishness. ;) This applies to everyone only in that it is something to keep in mind in regards to your conduct on such channels.
Also -- as far as ops go in the Tarentum channel. . .leaders are rewarded ops, and unless there has been a recent leadership change, have them already. So those of you with ops, please refrain from opping everyone else in the channel. . .as that is a form of abusing your ops, and now that you have certainly been made aware, should any do this.. they may lose their ops within the Tarentum channel for a period of time. So play nice and don't break rules. =P
Tarentum Competition -- send us more ideas. :) So far we have the events planned to follow a certain plot line. . .and so if any of you have skills with Sith/Obelisk mission design things, please get with Domi and I sometime soon so we'll know who we can look to to help us with those sorts of things should we need it. :) Annd I'm fairly certain the competition will include a debate, which seems to have sparked some interest, so we can look forward to that. Also, I want to include a run-on -- of sorts. I don't want a huge Clan-wide run-on, I'd like to split it up into smaller sections and maybe run it a bit differently than they have been run in the past. I have a few ideas, but please get with me if you've considered this kind of thing before and have some of your own ideas.

Dark Greetings Jedis
This is report #20 when I counted correctly dating 22.03.2003 and my first
report - and hopefully not the last - from El Pilar in Belize. Although I
can't do much else so far I at least can sent out my weekly reports to you
(but uploading them to the database is already impossible for me until now)
I still sorting out possiblities to improve my internet access but that will
take a little time.
Due to access restricitions in the connection because of the costs I
mentioned in my earlier mail I don't have access to the DJB.org. I know that
is a problem because as QUA I need to be informed about what's going on.
Therefore I would like to ask you if someone on a voluntary basis could sent
me the latest news on the DJB.org when they are posted (including comments
if possible) so I stay up to date. It has to be a specific person so I can
add him or her to my special accounts that are automaticly forwarded to my
folder. I found out that the subject labeling somehow doesn't work. If
someone is doing it please make your first mail a recap of the last week
since monday. But enough of of my problems let's start with the first topic
and that's as always :
Activity:
during the last week activity dropped rapidly due to problems in the wargame
and the rsulting full stop of it. I can't say anything about that topic
becuase I lack the full picture. The only thing I can tell you is that for
the duration of the stop you should take part in any weekly comps that are
offered and concentrate on the other events that are offered in phase 2 like
the villain or the crest design. So don't just twiddle your thumbs and wait
until the wargame continues but put your energy in other areas to good use
for the house.
Competitions:
As I said above the wargame is on hold until further notice, but there are
other events you can focus your attention on. My rule for rewards, nothing
or boot after the GJW is still operational so I suggest all of you who want
to polish up their dossiers in any way should start doing something in that
war.
Roster:
Hev Randrowan decided to leave to Rogues because of his TC duties, although
I'm sad about that decision I can understand it and wish him the best of
luck in the TC. With that departure we are down to 23 members when I
remember correctly. I wish I had my roster list somewhere at hand but
apprantly it has to work out with out it. If not some of the all time
inactives come back to life during the GJW we will problably experience a
severe dropdown in members after the GJW. Therefore I suggest you try
starting to recruit new members. But you also should take care of them so
they stay active and don't become dead weight like others.
Elevations:
Obi Wan Eden was promoted to ACO due to his continuous activity. Congrats
for that!
Awards:
No medals at all this week, I think that's the first time since I got QUA.
I know you can do better so try a little harder this week so I can report
something here the next time :P
Special Note:
We have a new member in our mail group. It's the newly appointed Emissary
Grand Master Emeritus Jac Cotelin. Welcome! Let me asure you my AED and me
and all of house Cestus will help you in your tasks as Emissary as much as
we can. You see Cestides from now on someone is watching us, so do what ever
you can to impress him :P

Promotions/Medals
I'm still waiting on that decission to give participation medals or not. As soon as I get the ok though, lots of medals will be in peoples boxes. I'm looking forward to that time :D
Competitions
Well as always the Great Jedi War is the only one running at this time. Make sure you participate with Phase 2. That includes one story and one poem for us Krathies. There are also open events to have fun with. If that's not enough, there is also the wargame to do. It seems to have halted for the time being though but check the DB news page every day. You can help out with the trivia :)
Don't forget my little incenitive plan. Trivia participation counts towards that. If you need a reminder, I always post every report I make.

Clan/House News
There is an AWOL check going around. Make sure you answer to it very soon along with the questions I included with it.
If anyone has any problems related to the DB, make sure you go to the approprate people. Those approprate people include Ciara, Domi, Hades, and myself. Nuff said.
There have been a lot of rather nasty comments made about things outside of the DB. Remember that the IRC channels are for DB related things only and if you wish to speak your mind about the countries of the world, do so in a non EH channel. Be mindful of others feelings please. Nuff said.
In other news, there's going to be a big clan competition after the GJW is over. Something to look forward to!
After that, we'll probably start working on a new website that we can all enjoy! I'm thinking of making a competition too. Anyone care to give ideas?

Well it seems the DGM is being HCIed(Hence can't do anything till trial is resolved) so I am not sure what is going on with the GJW. Keep submitting things to the SHW Though, the war game might not be moving but I'm gussing the Sith events(BP and Screenshots) are still due by the 31st. And the Open events are still going aparently so get to it guys
I know things have been quiet lately because of the HCI thing and probably RL events too. In this space, I would like to see you guys try and talk about stuff on our mail list. I have a weird feeling that some of you may be on the mail list but are just having the e-mails go to your junk mail so MAKE SURE IT IS ON YOUR SAFE LIST!
Some things that I think would be cool to talk about would be teh new StarShatter game the SCO is reformating for the EH, BP tactics(if you need help, have ideas, other things), teh RL war tactics(NO BUSH/WAR/Stop the fighting stuff, the war is on live with it. I wouldn't mind talking about their tactics and posible outcomes and stuff though), Prank, Joke, have fun, get your mind of things(in which case I'm guessing the RL war won't be a big hit:P) Either way I think we should get talking, at least to get rid of some of the boardom.
GOOD NEWS!! SW Hermann is back:) He's back as CMDR of SR squadron so free beer in the cantina:)
If any one isinterested, as I mentioned a wile back,I am writing a story, so far feed back is good. Any way, if you want the first few chapters just tell me.

Guys I know the DB seems slow atm cause of the lack of GJW WG but non the less there are still other things to do. If you do nothing else, at least use the mail list instead of sitting and doing nothing and leaving the void in your inboxs grow! That's all I have for now. As usal, updates will be sent out if anything was missed or comes up latter.
