House Aleema AED Report

Let's talk about what to do now...

SotN has a feud going and I know that AoD has something on the table as well. If you are part of those teams (which you most likely are) get with your TET's for more information. For those of you who don't know, I encourage submissions to the Dark Voice. For the most part, the awards are well deserved (and not difficult to attain) for anything from stories to poems to graphics. I DO encourage pieces worthy of Aleema - I DO NOT encourage submissions just for the heck of it. Being Krath, I encourage writing, and have no opinions on screenshots or graphics. Whereas writing is our "platform", it should also be our pride as Krath. If you read some of the things in the DV, you will see that there are many who do not take pride in what they attach their ID line to. I would hope that members of Aleema take pride in what they submit.

It is with this idea that I set forth a challenge; I would like to see EACH member of Aleema submit something (of effort and scrutiny) to the DV at least once a month, especially while times are slow...impress me. I do not care how many submissions you do - numbers are not important, quality is. For fictions, other than a "short story", one page is not quality. A story cannot develop in one page (unless you use a .00003 font) - a good story that is. On the same note - a crappy story can be 15 pages long. Take your time to develop your characters and build the story slowly and thoroughly. And for Pete's sake! use the damn spell check or a dictionary - "there" is not the same as "their". Believe it or not, the simple stuff is what can ruin a good story (like back a sentence where I just began it with "and"). For instance; "The DB is the mostest cool grupe in the Empirer's Hammor. It's was the Dark Brotherhoode there reel badass jedi who fite real good with they're sabirs asides of there forse powers they use to fight also sometimes." How many mistakes did you find? Okay, now how many did you find without using a processing program? Mail me.

My point is - stop rushing to get that DSS!!!! Where the hell do you have to be in such a hurry? Take your time and take pride in what you are doing.

In case you are still reading (doubtful) let me digress for a moment. Do the DV, don't do the DV - not a big deal...I just had a few cents lying around. The point in the DB is fun!!! If getting six-billion DSS's is fun for you, go for it!!! If taking a month to write a story is fun for you, go for it!!! Above ALL else, if you are not having fun...do something else. Flood my inbox with ideas for ANYTHING - creative, stupid, miniscule or massive, I don't care - just let me know your brains are working on what you'd like to see (except your AED naked...too much ink and metal - its not pretty).
