Quaestor Report

Well I guess this will be one of my last reports. Yup, I'm going to step down and allow someone else the wonderful chance to lead this great house. My reason: life. Even if I didn't step down, I'd have to take a few months LoA and that's not good for the house at all. And it's always good to get some new blood flowing :) On to the news!

Promotions/Medals/Joins!!

A few promotions this week! Demerzel was promoted to Jedi Hunter, Jason was promoted to Priest, Hades was promoted to ArchPriest, and I was promoted to Epis.

Great job to all of you for all the hard work and effort you have shown over the past months. You all deserved your promotion!

Sith got a shiny Grand Cross of the Dark Side for all his work with the DC. Great Job!

Obscurus got two Sapphire Cresents for being the only person I ever got anything from for the House Competition. I wish I could have given out more :( Great Job Obscurus!

And last but not least, we have a new member here. DJK Kryndath Del'chanar, an old time Gladius and Mystic member has come back to us. Let us all welcome him back!

Competitions

There is a cool sounding competition up for everyone to participate in. Well, it's really a bunch of cool sounding competitions. These will start May 4th so be prepared to participate in the largest collection of competitions around. There are no boundries to us Krathies can play Sithy games :) You can find all information here: http://independence.starfleetacademy.net/games.html

Make sure you support your QUA and AEDs events but do not forget to have fun with the others :)

This months KMTs are out and as follows:

Krath story: 'Divided Loyalties'

You may write about current events if you wish, or interprete the topic in a completely different and innovative manner.

<4 pages 12pt TNR. Submit to [Log in to view e-mail addresses] by midnight 31st May.

Krath poem: 'Virtue'

Style - Free verse (ie poetry that doesn't have any specific structure or rhyme or anything).

Submit to [Log in to view e-mail addresses] by midnight 31st May.

That's all the relevant ones. If you'd like to know about Obie and Sithy competitions, you'll just have to read the news page ;) It's always good to read that page as often as you can.

Clan/House News

Well it looks like Hades is going to be forced into retirement since he is a part of the EH and has people who are jealous of him :P He has put in a lot of time with us but he has put in more with the EH that can not be tossed asside. Despite his trying to change his name and stuff, he was still forced. We'll miss you Hades but we'll also know you are really still here with us :)

It's sad that things must be that way but we all must move on. I will not be taking any applications for AED so do not submit one to me. Since I do plan to step down, it'll more than likely be the job of the one who replaces me to find their AED.

Get your friends to join! It doesn't matter if they like to fly, fight, or write you'll get a medal for recruiting them :)

Seems there's been lots of angry words going back and forth so keep the tongue in the cheek when speaking with someone in the EH. Though I don't think that is a problem with us here :)

The KCC is back up and more websites are on their way to being restored! Make sure you swing by the news page for the lastest updates!

Bad tire change...

Out With a Bang!

2000 Darwin Award Nominee

Confirmed True by Darwin

(19 April 2000, Georgia )

A mechanic at a tire store in Montezuma was killed when a tire he and his brother were repairing exploded. The two were attempting to repair a crack in a tractor-trailer wheel rim with a welding torch. A high school chemistry student can tell you that heating air in a sealed container, such as a truck tire, causes the gas to expand and the pressure to increase. But the brothers, who had been repairing tires for years, did not heed this principle and deflate the tire before fixing the crack.

Montezuma Police Chief Lewis Cazenave hypothesized that the heat from the welding torch caused the air in the tire to expand until it exploded. Witnesses say that when the 4' diameter tire exploded, the rim left the axle "with great velocity," striking Robert in the head and killing him instantly. The force of the explosion was enough to knock a pickup truck off of a nearby lift, and the report was heard at the local police station one mile away.

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration cited and fined the tire and wheel company, but the owner says he will contest the findings. "They were both trained. The manager and the customer told him not to, but he did it anyway."

Well that's all for this week. I'll continue to make my reports at probably this same time until I step down. Remember to play safe and have lots of fun!
