CONSUL REPORT #2 for Week Ending 09/05/2003

Dark Greetings Brethren of Arcona,

Clan News:

House Summits:

While I am pleased with the activity and work of certain individuals there is definately a lot of room for improvement. I've recieved further complaints about activbity and leadership of certain summit members. Bbe assured, your words with me are not falling on deaf ears,these will be investigated and attempts made to remedy them. I always believe in giving people a chance to prove their worth rather than juts get rid of them ASAP. Conversations will be taking place during this week, unfortunately I am in my last week of Uni and need to give 110% to get all my courses finished and work submitted. I don't want to leave things hanging as they are so I'll really try and make some movement forward on this. Please don't think I'm out to get anyone, or anyone will be immediately removed - but changes are gonna have to be made.

**_Intel Spies:

_**As a lot of you know (especially Kel - congrats on the DC btw :P hehehe) there are a lot of EH Intel members amongst us. There are believed to be 20 agents within the Brotherhood, they do not concernus, there existance is a waste of time. They have no access to anything of value and while they are merely pathetic observers, there command has no clue what we know about them. I can assure you that X% are already identified and we have the upper hand. The EH is lost, it has fallen by the way and we are leaving it there, in the gutter with the rest of the waste.

**_I don't know if many of you have seen this thread on the EHDB message board, it was GM Firefox who brought it to my attention: http://www.ehnet.org/mb/viewtopic.php?t=6380. I have to say I was totally chuffed to see those of you who stuck up for myself and Voranyen. I am glad you are happy with us as your leaders and while nothing huge has happened yet - I finish Uni in a week and should have loads of time to get things relaly moving along, plus Vor should be more available then too. Mage and Tarkin, your words were great, maybe you just wanted to get ripped into Ast's bitch...sorry Shadonyx, but anyway, thanks a milion. This news isn't meant to insight anger or stir things up, I just wanna show you the loyalty within this Clan and belief in each other. Please if you have anything bad to say about any EHDBer, don't get yourself in trouble, especially since the CoJ is now in working order, just mail me or catch me on IRC, we can bitch about it safely and in private there!!!!

Dark Brotherhood News:

___I asked EMS Drako to crit my report from last week. I'm really only used to _writing House reports, but he siad it was all good except this sectionm. Rather than cut and paste everything I should give a synopsis of the events in the news along with my own point of view on each of them, so here goes:

GM = Firefox is taking care of lots of espionage based activities this week. Also awarding some well established Brotehrhood members. Exciting stuff!

DGM = Clan System COmp's ae being pushed - Arcona are ahead here but please continue to submit ideas.

MAA = CoFo is on a short LoA and he's working hard on the DBPA site: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.org/galaxies/

HM = Envoy project is really taking off. No report as of yet.

HRLD = Kaine is looking into running a cool JK2 comp - stay tuned. As his M:HRLD I removed all EH rank insignia's form ALL GoA's.

CHAN = Chancellor Camile has resigned from his position due to Army training. He's done a great job. I wish him well and thank him for his work.

SCL = Congrats to Cyberguy on his promotion to DA and his recent code implementations will really help teh SA and Envoy's. Good luck on exams!

KHP = Lot's of competitions - KMT's, Exodus etc... Alanna will be on a LoA for a few days due to a business trip. Back Wednesday

OHC = Obelisk news letter in the works and MP comps being planned.

SHW = No news, though I'm sure he's planning lots of comps for you guys!

EMS = No news.

LCH = Inter-Club gaming nights have been set up by Mav - check the DJB.org site for details. This is great news and will hopefully generate lots of activity.

JST = Case with our very own Blade Cannibisia is taking place. Wish you all the best Blade, sorry this has happened at all.

Competitions:

_**Arcona Competition:

**A New Home, A New Beginning is a chronicle of Arcona's search for a new base of operations directly after the separation from the Emperor's Hammer. The members of Clan Arcona, regardless of Order, will participate in a number of phases in which they choose the future home of the Clan. The Clan has come upon a mysterious system, and the Dark Jedi of Clan Arcona have been dispatched to investigate the new places, and report on what they find...._

CALN COMPETITION EXTENDED UNTIL END OF MAY

Members of Clan Arcona have been dispatched across the system to investigate the many planets in this strange place. It is the job of members, in this phase, to describe the planets they find, including any name they discover belongs to the planet.A brief description of several lines is required, however, members can take it further in whatever direction they wish, including media and further detail.

Members may submit as many planets as they wish in any format they wish; If a member so chooses they may create an entire star system of planets. However, there will be multiple winners, and a member can only win once, though each submission will be awarded based on number of planets submitted. PLEASE NOTE planets must be original creations of the member submitting them, though I'd hope that goes without saying ;) All submissions should be mailed to [Log in to view e-mail addresses], no later than 11/05/03.

A few further notes: First of all, images are more than welcome. However, keep in mind I do not wish to see images stolen off of any club's planetary system index. However, if you think a NASA image or something similar suits your planet, go ahead and use it. If an image is included, give me a little description of what the image is. Also, at this point, we're not looking for a great deal of fiction regarding exploring the planet. Fiction about the planet's history is good, but keep it similar to the write ups you can find at various placed on the net. Check out this one, on Raman for an idea of the type of thing I'm looking for, though yours need not be as long: http://www.starwars-rpg.net/dlos/display.php?file=stats/planets/raman.txt ... Below are a few suggest topics for your writings in the competition:

Suggested Topics- Climate, Terrain, Indigenous life forms, important cities/landmarks, government type or leanings, any sort of natural resources/raw materials.

Please note, that you don't have to be overly complex here. One sentence for each of the above topics would be fine, but you could easily take it further and include everything you can think of for the planet. More detail IS better, but so is originality. Do what you can and submit it-So long as theres effort, there will be awards given. ;)

As for awards given... every submission will receive an Amethyst Star (Cr-A) for participation, while the winners(There will be multiple winners, probably between four and six) will receive an Emerald Crescent (Cr-E). Multiple winners are necessary because the best planets will be combined to form the system that Clan Arcona has discovered. Again, the URL is http://www.yogle.freeserve.co.uk/MavNHNB/

Exodus:

In a future far, far away, Grand Master Pyralis, after returning from his retirement on an unknown planet, looked at the assembled students in the largest class room of the New Shadow Academy and took a deep breath.

"The universe is indifferent to the little struggles of mortal beings, their fear, their hopes, the successes and failures. Our lifetimes are nothing compared to the bigger picture, yet sometimes, some of us influence history in a way that at least a little part of the universe, our very own galaxy, will remember us. Not necessarily as individuals, but as a group. If this remembrance will be good or bad is always decided by our actions and the view of those who learn of us later."

The old men took a break and let his eyes wander to the electronic records in front of him. Memories, bitter and sweet, rushed back into his mind, some of which he would rather have forgotten. But they were nevertheless part of history.

"In our galaxy, in a part called the Outter Rim, a change happened that did influence stability and economics at a large scale, and in several regions at that. As most of you know, we were once a part of the now destroyed Emperor's Hammer. Yes, the Brotherhood was not an organisation by it's own right, but was ruled by a Dark Jedi called Ronin and his hand Astatine, another Dark Jedi who dreamed of ruling us all with less regard to each of our potentials.

I was there at the time. I have seen what can happen if control is overdone, if the rules are so strict that true development is impossible. I have seen it, and I was Headmaster in the end times of our stay with the Hammer. In fact, I was one of The Seven!"

A murmor went through the room. Probably most of the students had heard of the events and knew of the importance of The Seven. Pyralis was very sure that most of them knew his name before he mentioned the past, yet they must have had a hard time to belive that the fragile looking old man talking to them was one of the most feared and admired Jedi of the time of the Exodus. He smiled to himself. He was old, and maybe he wouldn't have much more time left. But he needed to bring the records to the new generation.

"We broke from Hammer control for several reasons. One of the main reasons was a planet we had discovered in uncharted areas, some distance away from Hammer territory. The planet, as you can guess, is Antei itself. Antei is special, as you all know. Yet, when we told ronin that we would like to settle there, most of us at least, the leader of the Hammer felt that his control over us might be lost if we were so far away. From his point, I guess it made sense to deny our request. But he had not paid attention to the strong feelings our Jedi had about this. No Force user on the quest for power and in his right mind would let a chance like this go. We prepared for the worst and let Ronin know that either he'd agree or we would leave the Hammer. Of course, he didn't agree.

How we got to Antei is for another lesson. Today, I will show you the records of us leaving the grip of Ronin and his consorts. They didn't like us leaving. They tried all things possible to make it hard for us. But we prevailed. "

The old man lifted up the records in front of him.

"Here are the records of those who left. Some of them are long dead, many are still alive. All of them had a unique perspective on the happenings. I want you to read through them, study them carefully. When you are done, you will know more about what had truly passed than our somewhat imprecise official records could tell you. Each of you grab a copy. We will discuss this further in one week time. For now, I need a place to rest..."

Your task: Write one of those records describing the Exodus. Tell us what your character(s) and/or others went through during the flight from Hammer territory. The story should start with leaving or just having left your clan's home and end with arriving in the unknown territories without mentioning any new systems you might end up in!

Your writing can be in first person format if you like, but it does not have to be. It also does not need to center around your character only, because the record could be written by anyone else but you (aka, you can write about things that happen someplace where your character isn't present). You can also write together with someone else if you want to. Try to stick largely to writing about your own clan so that stories from the different clans don't contradict tooooo much.

The closing date is about 6 weeks away, so that hopefully every clan will have designed new home planet systems by the time the winning stories are announced.

Minimum length is 2 pages Arial 12 pt. No maximum length.

_**Conclusion:

**_The CoJ is up and running so everyone behave! There are LOADS of competitions to do throughout all levels of the DB, I hope you all take advantage of these times, enter and earn yourselves some medals....I know that I wish I had enough time to get entering all these competitions.
